geforce2 mx400

I have two systems. One with geforce2 mx400 and one with geforce2 ultra. The MX400 machine can't run the demo. Crashes in all resolutions, color depth. Running windowsXP with 256mb memory. I had a similar problem with Warcraft 3 and the geforce2 mx400 will work if the game is run with the /opengl switch. But direct x and it locks up the whole system. Must reboot. I can post an error log from the couple of times it only crashed back to the desktop. Any suggestions?

The MX400 system is my sons. Most of the older games (directX7?) run fine. Newer games are causing lock ups.

I have tried 4 different nvidia drivers - same result.

Direct x is up to date. WindowsXP has all current patches.

Im running the gforce2 mx400 as well, but on win 2k. I havent had any problems with video. And i have all the curent direct x and such.

Mayeb you need to update your detenator drivers for the card.

Runs fine on my gf2 mx400, running 30.82 drivers on Windows 98.

Try a dxdiag and see if that reports any problems.

Sorry I am late coming to this thread.
I would like to collect some info from you to diagnose the problem. Can you send me the 'warnings.log' file, as well as any crash logs (they have long file names with the date-time in them). DxDiag output would help as well. Send it to 'iant' at relic.com
