was it because we were such silly boys yesterday?
My apologies if I went a bit overboard with the sarcasm in those posts. Sometimes it just gets the better of me.:(

You may have been silly with your insistent boot licking but some of us were actually trying to contribute to the way this community interacts.
Overmoderation, or inapproriate moderation, can destroy a community. The hard thing for the staff is to see when they are off track because they are too involved and often allow things to become personal.
The other day we had a mod indicate the reason a thread was locked because he had seen the topic on occasion before. So what? We aren't allowed to bump so when someone has a new twist on an old idea why shouldn't they be allowed to present it? Many new folks may not have seen the discussion. That alone should allow for some flexibility.
We had another mod, obviously irritated as indicated by the profanity, that the thread they locked was dumb and crap. Yet when others read it they couldn't find his reasoning. So if several other people think he was wrong then at least the problem deserves an airing.
Now you can go back to being silly.

Personally, I think the consideration of change is a very good thing, regardless of the reasons or the source.
As several people logically argued just before the re-organization (which incidentally also removed the bad-vibe posts), something wasn't working before. It's excellent to see a constructive response to the (hopefully) constructive criticism.

Trin: I said that because it wasn't a new spin on an old thread, it was a near identical repost. A repost of a thread that wasn't even that old, only a week or two ago If I recall correctly, that wasn't the reason the thread was locked anyway...
You can if I understand it, bump an old thread, if you have something new or interesting to bring to the discussion. Rather than just bumping a thread for no reason other than to get more people to see it.

Fair enough... I didn't go post hunting to see the similarities. Still I didn't see the harm.
