I officially protest that a Homeworld ship is being owned. :(

Otherwise very awesome :p

I concur...

The cruiser has much bigger guns!:D

I like it. Though, Homeworld ships shouldn't be owned like that.

Hmm? HW ships aren't owned? Who has the shields here, I ask ask?

ceejayoz

Only loser ships use shields, real ships don't need 'em. :p

Thorn

Well, the only ships in FS that have shields are fighters and bombers.

Well, then the HW ship shouldn't be owned. :D

In FS, a wing of torp-bombers could screw an MS-sized cruiser...
A couple dozen PlasmaBombers would 0wn anything FS...

Alpha: Unless, of course, the FS torpedoes have, say, antimatter warheads, or fusion warheads, or simply normal fission warheads:P

In FS the biggest ship is only 1/4th the size of the Kushan MS, the GTVA Colossus, its just over 6 km long, and a wing of FS bombers would have to re-arm about 30 times to take it down, and its likely they would be destroyed before that by the ships AAA.

Its eve less likely that the plasma bombers would even get one salvo off before theyre destroyed considering that they are unshielded, the flak guns alone would make short work of them, let alone the AAA beams, swarm missiles and pulse lasers.

NICE looks so good that picture. And I protest with ceejayoz about that HC being owned. :p

Same here. A HC can take on anything one-on-one. I have Freespace, I should know

Yeah, but I dont like seing the Deimos owned, seeing as its my favorite ship :D

I'd forgotten how cool that game looked. Why the hell won't it work with my GF2MX?!?

Oh, yeah, anyway...
in game the MS is 7KM, so I wasn't far off...
And while a few bombers couldn't destroy a big ship, they could, (and did) disable them.
Regarding AAA...good point, I'd forgotten 'bout that. D'OH!

EDIT: Will we EVER see FS3. FS2 was BEGGING for a sequel...:(

That freespace ship thing is ugly compared to the heavy cruiser.

Is that how the freespace thing is textured in the actual game?

Ahh, thats just not a good view of it...

this one is, ignore the red stuff around the turrets, I forgot to turn the damage LOD off...
But the Deimos isnt the best looking ship anyways, the Orion is a nice looking one....

Heh, make sure you dont say that on the VBB, or you'll get flamed to a cinder.. its not likely that we'll see it seeing as Interplay (which is now owned by Titus) still owns the rights, and V was bought by THQ. Unless THQ wants to fork out the money to buy the rights, its never gonna happen.

Ahhh I forgot how sexy the Diemos truly was.

I must protest the ownage of HW ships as well, but not a bad job. The beams could do with a little more texture IMO (even though I know they are that smooth in FS2) to add interest. Seems like a big gap between the ships too...

Overall I give it two thumbs up.
