View Full Version : Werd Override bigfile problem

I am having trouble getting my override command to work after a reinstall. I have the full .big file loaded in the data folder and it is all decompressed and decompiled. I made a scout change to cost 100 for testing to see if it worked. And I put the override command on the target

C:\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe -overrideBigFile

I try the "" and it doesn’t load, I try \overridebigfile and that doesn’t work either

Has anyone had this problem and it was something not listed in the forms - I have read Moes thread and the newbie guide but just can’t get it to work again. I have a feeling it is something stupid I am overlooking any outside the box idea’s?

The shortcut should look like this: "C:\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe" -overrideBigFile and many of the scripts do not decompile correctly, so I recommend getting one of the packages of pre-decompiled scripts that are available. I believe this is one of them: data.exe (http://www.sims2community.com/moe/files/hw2/modding/data.exe) (self-extracting archive, most likely.)

Besides that, I think you should only include the file that changed the price of the scout, and be sure that your directory is:

c:\progra~1\sierra\homeworld2\data...

Homeworld2.big
Music.big
English.big
EnglishSpeech.big
(folder) Scripts (or wherever your scout file is).

My most common mistake is putting a data directory in the data directory.
