How do you save a game in multiplayer mode (split screen co-op)? The save and load options are not available when I try playing with my friend.

There are no save and load functions in multiplayer mode. Only in single player.

The game keeps track of the levels you completed, and since most levels shouldn't take more than half an hour, it shouldn't be a problem.

Seriously...how long would it have taken to auto-save or allow a manual save after each mission? Probably about 15-30 minutes for even the most novice programmer on the team. It isn't complicated since each level you start over with fresh everything anyway. We played for 7 hours the first time the game arrived and made it to level 8, only to find no way to save the game! Even worse, when we went back to try again the next day, all levels except level 1 were still grayed out! Why ruin what is otherwise an excellent game by not including something so automatic as a simple level save? It is so hard finding a good co-op game these days, most games say they do but then you try them and it turns out you can't play the full story or just "special" missions, but The Outfit is 99% of the way there except for saving the game between missions.

The game autosaves your progress after each co-op mission, provided that both of you are signed into profiles (doesn't have to be live profiles).

I'm not sure what the trick is to get this alleged "auto save" feature to work in co-op mode. I've had two people claim this happens, but I have yet to see it. I log in every time with the same two profiles and yet, every time you must start over completely from the beginning. At least in single player mode you can choose whatever level you want to play as long as that profile has passed that level before, but in co-op, you are stuck playing the whole thing over again. Forcing you to waste electricity keeping the console on, just so you don't loose your place in the game. It would really be nice to just pick which level, since our two profiles have finished the game about 10 times now.
Perhaps there is some trick to properly logging in the two profiles before you start the game? I have my profile already logged in when the game starts, and I don't recall ever seeing a way to log in the second profile before starting the co-op game. I just hit co-op and split screen and away it goes. Both players join and the game is started.

Odd, because the auto save feature works perfectly on my 360. Are you certain you're logging into the same profile as before, and player 2 is logging into the same one as well? Are your achievements from the missions being saved?

That's just it, how do you log the second person in? Do you do it outside of the game somehow? Because I can't see a way to change profiles once you are in The Outfit. This is how we normally play:
1. Turn on XBox 360 - My profile is always logged in.
2. Turn on second player gamepad.
3. Play the game on the Games screen or The Outfit starts playing by itself.
4. Using player 1 gamepad, choose Multiplayer, co-op, split screen and away it goes.

I have never seen it ask for the second player profile.

I have only been using the Xbox 360 for about 4 months now, I normally play on the computer since the graphics are 10 times better, but I finally had to buy a console because game companies seem to think everyone who plays on a computer wants to kill each other in deathmatch! Personally, I think it is lazy programming, because deathmatch is so easy. Halo proves you don't have to modify the story line at all, just add two players that look exactly the same and ignore how many of them are on the screen when the cut scenes start. The Outfit is so much more fun with two players, 4 players would be really cool too.

Any help figuring out the steps to make the game happy for the logins, so the co-op saves properly, would be much appreciated. The acheivements do seem to be saved correctly. When I go back to the Acheivements on the main screen, it does show the ones we have received in co-op mode, but when you go back to multiplayer, co-op, split screen, your only choice is to play the first level again (all other levels are grayed out).

Ok, I see the way you have to login is to use the big Xbox 360 button on the gamepad to bring up the console and login with your profile using each gamepad. Then when you start the game and finish a level, it will let you start the next level next time. The way we were doing it was to let it autologin my profile as gamepad number 1 and then just turn on the second gamepad and start a game. When you do it that way it seems to make some wierd guest login that is never the same the next time you play, so all the levels would be grayed out, except level 1. We were just playing it all the way through without turning the console off, just to get around that problem.
