Review
The Plot follows the events of the story line drawn out in Final Fantasy VII. It is set two years after the conclusion of the game, and Midgar stands as a singular reminder of the cost of peace. Cloud makes his grand entrance, along with Tifa and the others in this movie, along with our old Shinra favorites, Reno and Rude. The fight scenes are beautiful, the CGI is exquisite, and the plot is thick and intruiging. It pulls you in, and demands that you finish it. There are a few weak spots, such as the voice acting, which is described below.
Good stuff: The fight scenes, and the music really make up a mood for the movie. They bring out the best of the movie, allowing the viewer to truly understand the rivalries between characters, and get the feel for the movie. Also, the graphics of the movie, while completely computer generated, are stunning, almost realistic. Truly one of the best works of CGI around.
Bad stuff: There is a lack of talking between alot of the scenes, and sometimes there is none, as in the fights. The English voice acting isn't terrible, but it could be better. I suggest listening to it in Japanese with English subtitles. I gave one score of Voice Acting a 3, for the English, Whilst the Japanese track recieved a 5.
