All right. Im getting sick so far of waiting and waiting for some more information about this game! it seems weird, but everytime I sit behind my PC, I automatically check Relic Forums if there's anything 'new' I didn't knew yet. New info about the game, new topics etc. Is it just me, or will this game be the best ever? I'm now looking forward like about a year from now.. its such a pain to wait and wait.. ! (lol..) How much longer..? I'm looking at the entire internet for things about Company of Heroes I didn't knew yet.. I really want it.. and I want it now! Forgive me my impatientness.. Americans:
-Rangers; (6 men)
-Infantry Squad. (6 men)
Once again, I thank Soldier of Dest for his 'research' ;)
Correct me if I’m wrong in some way. (Spelling, wrong name, etc.) There will probably be more weapons in the game (for infantry), but those have not been revealed yet.
If there's anything more you know for so far, lets get those things in a row, just to make it easy to see, what we already know about Company of Heroes.
More to follow in the future, since I'll keep this list up-to-date!

Don't worry man your not the only one checking every waking moment on the forums, gamespot, relicnews for any new info on the game and beta. I've also been waiting for about a year as well and I think I've developed a habit of checking the forums every day that I get up and even more than that. Really I've never been this excited about a game and usually by now I would have given up waiting on the game, but this, oh this is so different my friend. I really can't wait until it comes out.

Yes, checking this forum is routine every day :D
You can add the "Maschinengewehr 42 (MG42)" to the german weapons
And maybe start a vehicle list :
Germans :
Pzkpfw. VI "Tiger"
Pzkpfw. V "Panther"
Pzkpfw. III Stug III (or was it the Stug IV?)
Americans :
M3 Halftrack
Willys MB Jeep (with MG) (maybe other versions?)
M4A1 Sherman (or M4A3?!) (maybe other versions?)
M10 Wolverine
Wahaha I want this game

Ok, the German weapons list is missing the
MG 42 Machine Gun (Maschinengewehr)
The correct spelling for "Machine Pistole" is "Maschinen Pistole"
The "Sturmgewehr" is correctly labeled as MP 43 or StGW 44 and it's the first Assault Rifle.
More later :)

Better say "Maschinenpistole" and as far as I know you can also say MP44 and StG44 :smash:

The Sherman Crocodile is in. So is the M10 Tankhunter. (both allied)
Daton
The Panzerschreck basically is a reloadable Panzerfaust with a better punch to take out T-34 tanks, copying the american bazooka. They were issued in 1943 but due to mass production difficulties the Panzerfaust was still used. So the Germans might get both.
Since the game doesn't portray ammo use it doesn't make any difference which one they get. Since the Panzerschreck needed to be operated by two soldiers it would qualify for a nicer animation though ;)

Flamethrower Shermans. You can see one in the HD video burning the infantry out of two houses.

I only have 2 titles I am itching to play this year, this one and MTW2. Already I play WWII RTS games and find them so boring, I think future RTS games will be forced to adopt this AI or come up with something more innovative.
Soldier of Dest

I hope there will be the Sdkfz 251, the M3 Halftracks opposite :salute:
GERMANS
Pzkpfw. IV (should be type Ausf.G)
Pak40 or Pak38
Nebelwerfer
MG42 on Tripod

BAR is a "Browning Automatic Rifle".
.30 machine gun should be a Browning M1919 Machinegun.
Springfield sniper should be a M1903 if I remember correctly.
Not sure but I think the Grease Gun was designated M3 or M5.
.45 Pistol would have been a M1911 or M1912.
Where is my M2 "Ma Brown" Machine Gun, soldier?! ;)

Hi all,
[QUOTE]-"Maschinengewehr 43" (MG43). [Not sure yet..][QUOTE]
Might you mean "Maschinengewehr 34" I have never heard of an MG43.
Also some aditional vehicals
Allies:
M26 "Pershing" Heavy Tank
M8 "Greyhound" armored car
2 1/2 Ton Truck (dont know if it is buildable but i have seen it in the trailers)
The Axis will almost definetly have an equil to the Jeep. I expect the Sdkfz 222 to be the counterpart of the Greyhound.
Thats all i can think of to add to the list right now. :salute:

We have Axis and Allies in the game. Not Americans and Germans.
Worf
17th May 06, 11:58 PM
Well, doesn't the Axis in the campaign pretty much contain only Germans? And isn't the CoH an American Company?
Anyway people, let's stick to the correct sides, Axis and Allies.

My fault, I meant ofcourse, the Maschinengewehr 34 [MG34], not the MG43.

Damnit, ur right ;) Made that stupid mistake with the BAR. Anyway, I also added a new list, check above.
I'll keep this list updated as accurate as possible. Thanks to those who do know what the real name is/stands for. :)

'we have allies and axis in the game, not americans and germans'
i think he might be refuring to the 'all germans are nazis' view that would couse people to be very angry

Hmm.. Axis and Allies means something different then Americans and Germans.. Keep in mind that Allies and Axis refers to Britain, Russia, America, etc. (Allies) and Germany, Italia, etc. (Axis) Since in CoH there will be only two sides: America vs Germany, lets just say Americans and Germans.. just to keep it all clear;)

lets just say Americans and Germans.. just to keep it all clearLet me guess, you're from America. Those of us outside of America find that kind of generalisation insulting.

18th May 06, 11:38 AM
LOL.. Thanks that you think I talk so proper English.. for a Dutch guy. ;) In fact, I'm from the Netherlands.. and what I actually wanted to say is just that the game only contains Americans and Germans, so we can't really speak of 'Axis' and 'Allies'.. Nice try insulting ppl here.. Not that I am "Pro-American".. not at all. Just wanted to let you know;)

So if it is axis and allies, will we see weapons from enfield, bren, sten, vickers, nagant, and others used during the war? So far the weapons list for allies looks like a US Military list, axis list looks like only german weapons though that is not my strong point in remembering weapons. Only the browning 1919 series was used by other militaries in any significant amount as far as I recall for the allies.
Borriesz
18th May 06, 12:23 PM
Yeah, this list so far will only contain U.S. and German weapons, since Relic did not said anything about English, Italians, or Russians participating in the game. We'll assume it'll be only Americans vs Germans.. but I (and so do others..) hope that we'll get to see more country's. [Russia and England, I beg you, Relic!] Who doesnt like the fast PPSh-41, the Mosin Nagant rifle, the Scoped Lee Enfield Sniper rifle, Tokarev SVT-40 (Semi-automatic) or the Silenced Sten Mk II. ;)

CoD PLAYER ALERT!
LOL.
(By the way it should be grenadieres for germens not Volksgrenadieres. They only started using that designation in the later part of 1944. A Volksgrenadiere is a glorified milita outfit really.)

Volksgrenadiers, huh? This will be a cakewalk. :D I wonder if there are Panzergrenadiers in CoH?
Soldier of Dest

I hope so! There were many PanzergrenadierE in the normandy. Oh I love them :sniper: well trained soldiers, my elite... GIVE'EM TO MEEE :evilnod:

20th May 06, 9:01 AM
There was only one panzer division before the Americans so panzer greinders should be pretty rare in the game.
(Volksgreniders huh... well that's still an improvment on what the germens were relying on for cannon fodder in normandy.)
LoneWolf666

Weren't Panzergrenadiers simply mechanized infantry? Or did they accompany regular tank divisions? I though there pretty common during the latest phase of the war.
Cheech Marin

They were essentially mechanized infantry. Panzergrenadier was nothing more than a fancy name given to them.

According the the IGN article posted today, the heavy machine gun squad is using a Browning M1917A1, very strange, one of the more rare allied MG's, despite being the USA's principal MG, even US forces had few M1917. From what I recall the 1917 was more typically mounted on jeeps while the 1919 was a more common weapon mounted on tripod in a squad due to the lesser weight.

The browning was notable for it's "accuracy, reliablility and ease of maintenance." quoted from SAS book.
