Just played a game where I had two squads of Guardsmen and my oponent had 1 squad of space marines.

The 1 squad of space marines scattered really well and for some reason were able to get both my guardsmen squads into H2H.

Just curious how he done this or wether it's a bug or what... I was microing my squads away but they just kept getting attacked H2H.

Attack move and a squad will spread and CC more than one squad.

I'm assuming that H2H is Hand-to-Hand combat.

It doesn't really sound like a bug to me. Yeah, we're you doing Attack-Move?

I belive that is is known as 'Tapping' and its where a squad can close combat two squads that are close together.

Its been allowed again, as it was taken out before in a previous version, iirc.

Check out 'Adonis of many Avatars' lol

It's frustrating but I think it makes more sence. Why would guy charging in to close combat ask themselves what squad each enemy in front of them was in?

Multi-tieing is one of the best things of patch 1.4. The bigger the bodycount of the attacking squad the more chance to tie up more than 1 hostile squad.

Actually 'tapping' was removed with the 1.3 patch and this is nothing like it. Back then units that had been engaged in CC by a squad continued to CC it until it was told otherwise, so you could engage one squad and then engage another one and both would CC you until your opponent told them not to. This is simply a squad 'spilling over' from CCing one squad and goes to strike another squad as well.

And this is why DOW has such great visceral melee combat!

Whats the problem with Obliterators then? You can never melee them as long as they keep moving, thus they can keep firing and is why they are so OP. Engaging in melee is the only good way of disabling massive firepower and heavy weapons but with Oblits its not possible

I have noticed that the Seer Council is very effective at engaging multiple squads.

I think perhaps that answers the point about seer council tieing up multiple squads - simply because the seer council get a frikin huge squad when maxed.

mmmm.... witchblades...
