DoW opening movie discussions.

im not sure if there is a new opening movie for DC, i think its still unconfirmed.
im interested to know what people would LIKE to see in the opening movie if there will be a new one

Well, I don't think it would really matter if we wanted or not. Its up to Relic after all. They are the ones who decides whether Dark Crusade will have an opening intro or not.

No amount of begging and stuff will help.

I hardly doubt he was begging for a movie, just more-or-less curious as to what you'd like to see if they did make a new movie. His post wasn't: 'what do you want in the next DC movie?? maybe if we beg we'll get one".

Oh, and just anything that involves the death of the hero (like Blur likes to do), because war spares no one.

Even if Relic wants to hire Blur Studio to create another intro movie for Dark Crusade, I doubt it would be in time. From what I read, Blur Studio is busy with Hellgate: London and Rise of Legends.

For example. id like to see a squad or two of imperial gaurd fighting bravely against the forces of chaos. holding their position, then the chaos summon obliterators, the imperial gaurd begin to falter and run, when all of a sudden WHAM. Deep striked dreads and terminators. land in front of the chaos and wipe them out.

Anywho, this Hypothetical Intro Vid should have obviously Tau and Necrons in it. I would like it showing the contast between the races. Necrons would be making a slow solemn march, whilst Tau units are harrasing and flanking and jumping etc etc, making an attack, moving to a new position. A few sequences of that with all the units would be cool, then add the necron hard stuff (destroyers / wraiths / flayers etc), then add Tau nasties (Hammerheads :))

1. No new video. Would like to know how much it would add to the price tag on the box to get one though... you might find that people would be willing to pay 3 or 4 dollars more to get a nice intro.

2. Opening video I would like to see. Given that the game is set on a world with all the races on it vieing for control...

2 Guardsmen standing in a lookout tower watching the horizon through some scopes. One spots a necron force crest a ridge. At first just a few squads. Then scarabs by the thousands, and bigger squads... and then ultimately a monolith slowly comes into view.

About this time the Guarsmen who have been diligently reporting movements with more and more urgency start to panic. Just as they are about to abandon their post... they see Tau hammer heads strafe the necron lines. Then Firewarriors race into view with amazing speed firing like mad. The tau forces push back the necrons and a whole side of the necron force colapses under a flanking Kroot charge. Finally you see the Monolith retreat under punishing fire from some off screen Tau heavy weapons.

Cut back to the IG in the tower... Cheering and jumping and waving thier arms at their salvation. Only to see the Tau heavy weapons re-target that post and anihalate it! Fade to black as hammerheads race past the camera twords the IG fire base.

A dense fog is sundered by las blasts of Imperial Guard soldiers. Rows upon rows of soldiers stand, few cowering whilst Commisars valiantly march along their ranks, ensuring total and surpreme loyalty. The sound of Lemon Russ battle tanks pound like war drums, constantly firing towards an unknown threat. The sillhouette draws near as the first row of soldiers is completly annhiliated, they fall like flies to the left and right. The second row stands strong while the row behind them fire off a few shoddy blasts as the soldiers look on in absolute horror as the men in front of them are ripped and strewn asunder by the vile and corrosive maws and scythe-like weaponry of the Tyranid wave. The soldiers blindly fire forwards, some backing up only to end as a pile of mucus and flesh on the filthy ground thanks to a commisar. The Tyranids advance, showing off their lesser ranks and advancing up their hierarchy. A command is mistranslated, and the tanks begin to storm forwards, some accidently crushing soldiers beneath their treads. The scene is absolute horror, tyranid troops jump around the tank, are run over and a few manage to latch onto the front of the tanks, driving their wepaons through the vision-ports and eviscerating the driver's eyes. Each tank slowly begins to die while the ground is slowly corroding away-a film covers the ground as the Tyranids advance and the Imperial commands on the ground view on in horror as smoke and blood fill the air. The commands receive one final transmission, "Copy that, we are leaving the planet, presume all ground forces deceased and move out of the area, we'll -" the message cuts off as the commander drops his raido, turning around to see the fangs of a warrior. The video would end as the creature lurches forwards opening its maw to consume the commander.

Then load, and into DoW2's main menu. Hey, he never gave a specific.. :D

Well, something awesome would be to:

Start the opening movie with a intense-action battle between the Tau and the Necrons!
As the movie progresses (hopefully seeing some Tau shooting down Necrons, they revive, and slaughter in CC) the other races come down in their little drop pods and join in on the war!

Pretty much, incorporating all the races into the cinematic would be awesome, but focusing on the Tau and Necrons would work. All I really want to see is some good CG shots of Tau Firewarriors and Chaos Space Marines :D

Oh well, any kind of *NEW* opening video would rock!
It was really disappointing when WA's was the same as DOW

Scene opens with dust blowing in the faces of tau standing tensely in firing positions. Pans from side on view of a firewarrior out to the open desert where Necron warriors are slowly advancing towards the tau. The tau open fire but don't slow the necrons. Then a tau aircraft flies over and blasts the necrons. camera can't see anything through dust and when it clears you see the mangled wreck of a necron body. The camera comes closer to the head then suddely it moves and the body starts to re-assemble, along with many others. From behind the necrons comes the necron lord. The necrons continue their advance led by the lord. Tau open fire again and flayed ones appear out of the ground just infront of the tau. All seems lost as necrons close in when 3 tau devilfishes blast the necrons apart again and the tau jump aboard. Scene ends with the necrons pulling themself together again and the necron warrior watching the devilfishes fly away.
