CoH and Vista/XP ?

I've heard a mean rumor, that CoH won't be playable on Windows XP, since it uses DirectX 10.

This can't be true, can it?
For one; Vista won't be out in time for the release of CoH, but since there's people talking about it, I thought it would be best to get some official confirmation to back it up.

(Didn't find any info in the forum FAQ about OS and DirectX support neither)

CoH is Dx9/Dx10. Only games published by Microsoft Games are Vista-exclusive (+ a few dx10 only ones which will come out quite some time from now).

As the commercial release of Windows Vista isnt due out until January 2007 (and some analysts believe it will slip again to March) and CoH is due out september of this year I think we can safely assume that CoH will run happily on windows XP (requiring people to install the Vista beta before they can play the game would be a little silly).

no it has been stated I think it's dx9 mainly but also dx10 support built in

The game will primarily utilize DirectX 9 features, but if you have Vista and a DirectX 10 capable video card (of which there are yet none on the market), the game will run better, and will have more eye candy too. So it'll be a fantastic looking game in XP, and a mindblowingly good game in Vista ;)

Tranj I think you should wear a cape, you always seem to come in and save everyone.

Its nice to here that its both Dx9 and 10, but It will be a while before I see it running with Dx10. :lol:
