I decided to make a few drop pods using a template I found on a website, I forget which website since it has been a few months since I downloaded it.

I started off by cutting out these paper templates and using them to draw the shapes onto a card box I found lying around the house.

After cutting them out I had all the parts I needed for my drop pod.

I started assembling my card drop pod by cutting slits into the base to slot in the struts. I then used sellotape to keep them in place.

After finishing the basic structure I began adding the doors, they occasionally needed trimming to fit.

I'm not the most patient person in the world and I ended up putting a few of the doors on shoddily, but I'm too bored to care.

Not the flashiest drop pod the 41st millenium has seen, but it gets the job done well enough for something made with card, scissors, tape and 1-2 hours of time.

Yeah, looks pretty cool. Adding some bits and pieces here and there along with some extra card could turn it into a great, detailed drop pod. Well done, Penitent.

Why'd I spend $160 on forgeworld?
This actually gets the point across a heck of a lot better than most other templates I've seen.

I've offered to host Penitents file...you can get his PDF here (http://directorate.net/pdfs/podtemplate.pdf). Enjoy!

Wow what a great set of templates. I need 5 drop pods for my new army and these will work well. I have even convinced my wife to make one for me whilst I am at work tomorrow to see how they look.
Has anybody got any updated pics of theirs?
