Just saw this (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/companyofheroes/news.html?sid=6153416) story on Gamespot, and was slightly perplexed by the absence of the BAR in the list of Allied weapons.

Does this mean that the BAR won't be in the game?

yes it will be ingame. dont u see videos or even read the news? there are BAR's all over the place lol..

As far as we know, BARs are an upgrade for regular riflemen squads, useful for supression and adding much needed rate-of-fire.

Actually if you watch the allied infantry vid , while it first states general infantry it posts the BAR as the weapon.

Did anyone catch what they said about the M1 Garand?
"The Garand's higher accuracy but lower rate of fire is best suited for mid- to long-range combat. Being a light rifle..."
Low rate of fire? the thing is semi automatic, and compare the rate of fire to a Kar98, or another infantry rifle.

if you fired it to fast you loose all your accuracy.

Like most semi-auto rifles firing a full sized round.

I have a BAR from looking at the COH videos...does that count?

BAR is in the game indeed. They probably didn't describe all the weapons. For example, there are flamethrowers and grease guns in addition.

Don't forget the m1 carbine. The BAR is my favorite weapon so I'm glad I saw it in all those movies. Got to love the power of that gun.

Btw I wonder when the german one will be released?

it has :D, it had panzershrieks and greneders, it also is a lot smoother than the allied one and shows a lot more gameplay
