New avatars? SWEET!

Sorry, but it's the best thing when you can have a vareity of Avatars, unfortunately you still can't upload your own.

Just thought I'd point it out....Moddies, you can delete this thread if you feel it's nesscary

Perhaps not uploading your own to they're server but just being able to type in a url for one with a automatic size limiter. Most people here have an account with a server and those who don't can be hosted for them, I would willingly host....

If they only allowed us a selection of avatars, most likely, URL avatar thingys were not included in the forum software.

Yeah, why can't we do custom avatars? It says we should be able to if we have more than 0 posts.

One of two reasons.

1. The forum software may not allow the outside linking of avatars. Notice, even the mods and admins have their avatars hosted here.

Or,

2. The admins say so.

I'm gussing there is an option to have "personal avatars" somewhere in the forum software. But, with nearly 700 people running around with their own avatars on the RN server would eat alot of bandwidth. And I'd imagine it would cause a hell of alot of work for the staff.

Actually I've seen other vBulletin forums that have URL avatars. So it is a option, but your probably right on the reasons they don't use it. Also, I know some...less scrupulous members who would use...less respectable graphics. For instance pictures of the...opposite sex...exposing they're...birthday suits.;)
