on the old boards we had that thing were someone would post a recording and everyone would make their comments about it. i think it'd be a good idea to have something like that back again, but this time someone of lower skill posts a recording, like a 1v1 rec against someone they can't beat. then some of the better players could give them tips. so if u have a 1v1 against someone thatsvery good and ur having probs beating, post it there.

My problem is that I have no idea where I would put that kind of thing. :(

no, I meant where I would store it online so people could d/l it. But I think the fan sites have recording archives, don't they?

if you would like a game hosted for review, then send me a private message first and i will give you instructions for emailing it to me.

Something that I would cherish is a huge community library with top games searchable by three categories:
1. The map
2. The strat the host used
3. The strat the guest used

Almost like freelance.guidestone.com, but with many more games.. maybe a few hundred.

So, for example, if you want to see how to stop a [swarmer] with [grav/caps] on [talas], you just search for the right game.

I'm actually placing a subtle hint for the producers of freelance.guidestone.com. :)

Back in my porn master days, i used alot of free web accounts and services where you could upload shit, and pepes could download it very fast and for a very long time (especially if its not porn and 20000 people dont download it in the first 2 hours) So if anyone would like me to set something like that up plz email me

why murph?

btw i think that is alot of work for a game that will slow down alot over the next year. a year ago we would have had the motivation, but i think most freelance ppl have their heads in another game soon to be released.

Homeworld slow down? I could not imagine it... its been like a second house/home/family for me. The thought of it leaving...
(tear rolls down eye)

(Several people look thinking "Who the hell is he?")

On topic though... I do have half a game where Frsktor whooped my ass... the bad thing is... ugh... only 1/2 of it was record, the first half. If you want it email me.

well the hw community seems to move as a whole, which was indicated by the lack of people playing when hwc was released. luckily for hw, lots of the vets didnt get into hwc so they returned back at the start of 2001. it seems that alot of homeworld vets are interested in eve, and i predict that if it is any good, the hw lobby could get considerably smaller as a result. if hw2 is ever released and is any good, i think you could safely say that the hw lobby will suffer, but i guess this would be a good thing (ie. getting to play hw2 instead :))

sorry its a bit off topic, but im trying to justify reasons for my laziness in doing this recordings thingy. problem with categorizing hundreds of games is that you have to watch hundreds of games - maybe if someone else did that then we could certainly make them searchable. dunno that metho or lordrule would be into it either.

actually isn't that basically how freelance.guidestone.com is worked?

choose talas, radial, or subj, then the strats are available? the winning strats mind you..

95% of the recordings Ive ever seen take place on those three maps.

We could have it so that everyone who posts here should add to it with every game they play and an expert should analyze the results, like in chess. A thread for each one with everyones opinion.

If my idea is a bit over ambitious, which it is, then scale it back. I'm unlikely to come back, my home is in Homeworld Discussion.
