<i>The Eye of Terror is home to all manner of evil turncoats. From the traitor Legions to the thousands of turncoat Imperial servants, all lurk in the Eye, reaching out to strike at the Imperium. For them, the Chaos Gods they follow give them the protection and power they so crave. But within, lurks a different kind of traitor. Their planets are coated in cathedrals with spires that tower up to the heavens, with the endless noise of prayer and sounds of devotion coming from its surface. Its forces make a mockery of the Imperial Creed, covered in twisted versions of scripture, with words of Chaotic power littered across them. They invade Imperial space not out of hatred – but out of sheer religious devotion to their Dark Gods. Each world they conquer is turned into a shrine world, with the structures and buildings of the Imperium leveled and carved into vast shrines and cathedrals.<br />
They are the sons of Lorgar, the true followers of Chaos. They are the Word Bearers.<br />

A precious project of mine was always the Word Bearers Legion and a few years back I released an alpha but never came back to it. Now I have done, with several major changes. At the moment, I aim to release the first build - a code only build with very little in the way of assets, by the end of the month. This is because the race I'm creating is far different to anything else - especially their endgame.<br />
<br />
<u>Play-style:</u><br />
The Word Bearers focus on building up. They build icons, shrines and structures all over the map to tech up and produce units. Each of their shrines produce power - which is not used in the conventional way. Instead, it maintains the Daemonic entities they can eventually produce - and their endgame. One which will change all. <br />
<br />
<u>Unit List:</u><br />
Infantry:<br />
<br />
<ul><li style="">Visceral Engine: The primary builder unit of the Word Bearers, this Daemon Engine constructs the largest of the structures on a planet being converted by the Host.</li><li style="">Cultists: Weak and available in large numbers, these will swarm and envelop enemies.</li><li style="">Legionnaires: A full squad of Word Bearers, these are a fully flexible and very strong unit choice who can either be deployed as long range fire support or close support. They can also be upgraded with a <i>Black Cardinal</i>, who is able to bolster the squad with various abilities, and a <i>Host Hand</i>, who inspires your troops to fight with greater fervour and speed.</li><li style="">Anointed: The Chosen of the Word Bearers horde, these troops often escort the Dark Apostle or operate independently. They can be led by the <i>Coryphaus, </i>which allows them to operate stronger and survive longer.</li><li style="">Warp Talons: Vicious killers, these were once Raptors who have become one with the Warp – they can move in and out of the Warp to ambush enemies at will.</li></ul><br />
<u>Heroes:</u><br />
<ul><li style="">Dark Apostle: The leader of your host, a powerful lord with powerful abilities to bolster your forces.</li><li style="">First Acolyte: An apprentice of your Dark Apostle, he is much more focused on combat and has abilities to match.</li><li style="">Keeper of the Faith: A sorcerer, with powerful psychic powers and passive abilities.</li></ul><br />
<u>Vehicles:</u><br />
<ul><li style="">Decimator Daemon Engine: A powerful walker armed with a multitude of weaponry.</li><li style="">Heldrake: An immense winged monstrosity. (?)</li><li style="">Land Raider: Heavy Transport.</li><li style="">Rhino: Light transport.</li></ul><br />
<u>Daemons:</u><br />
<ul><li style="">Lesser Daemons: The weakest of the daemonic forces, these are cheap and degrade quickly.</li><li style="">Marked Daemons: More powerful Daemons, either Bloodletters, Plaguebearers, Daemonettes or Horrors.</li><li style="">Greater Daemons: The most powerful of the Daemons: Bloodthirster, Great Unclean One, Lord of Change and the Keeper of Secrets.</li></ul><br />

I would like to present you some my skins collection. It means, that this reskins are absolutely free to use. So all people can use it in their own mods. And of course Relicnews big mod projects and teams can use it, because its free. So i want to tell about it more information. This is all my Reskin collection. If you want to use it in your mods, you must have the models. In the RAR-archive i posted only texture-files, not models. In the screens you can see what is my textures. If you have some questions, ask it in this thread. If you have new ideas, ask it too please. My collection contains many skins for famous DoW units, so download it and use. ;) :)<br />

Welcome to the Salamanders mod for Soulstorm, which adds a new race, the Salamanders chapter of the Space Marines to your game of Soulstorm.<br />

To install, put the Salamanders folder and the .module file into your Soulstorm root directory, then from the title screen go to Game Manager and select the Salamanders Mod. You will also need Jones' fantastic Objective Points mod to enable the custom Salamanders LP, and you can get this from the first post of this thread:<br />

The Salamanders are a chapter who come from the planet Nocturne, which has very high gravity and because of this the Salamanders are bigger and stronger than other marines, albeit a bit slower to react to things. They have difficulty with using aerial equipment owing to the difficulties of training in such an environment. Further, owing to the radiation then they have mutated to have black skin and burning red eyes.<br />
<br />
Followers of the Promethean Cult they believe in self dependence, so have trained in the art of manufacture and tend to field higher numbers of custom weapons, armour and as skilled blacksmiths, they have a lot of hammers. The cult values fire and so too do the Salamanders, who favour flamer and melta weaponery.<br />
<br />
This mod is not strictly codex, what with them not having one, but is my interpretation of the chapter so I know there are fluff deviations in place.<br />
<br />
A bit of background on this mod, if I may indulge you. This mod is my project, started by me on my own and with limited alpha testing to some of my DoW friends and buddies. I had to learn how to do a hell of a lot of new stuff and all the new textures, 2d Art and AE code is mine and the Salamander AI is heavily mine and at one point I was even audio editing! Basically, it started and ends with me. That said, the aforementioned DoW friends have been great with new LP's and unit donations to really make this mod something special. In terms of content completion, this is pretty much 100% done, all that is really outstanding are the custom voices which Thud is working on and then my friends, we are gold.<br />

So, if all that is outstanding are the voices, then why release without? <br />

Basically, I joined this forum nearly a decade ago, or a generation if you will. It's been great, DoW has been a significant part of my life and there are some excellent people here. In that time I have worked on a lot of stuff here and in the real world, including meeting someone, getting married and at the time of writing this, our first baby is due tomorrow. In about 30 hours. To make room for this change, my mancave has been disassembled, my once proud gaming rig is now sharing the wall mounted TV, which means limited access, great difficulty doing anything graphical, and humourously, DoW has no mouse cursor in the DPI I'm using, making it impossible to play. All this means, modding has become much harder and also I'm largely using the other half's laptop, which is not ideal as a)she needs it for work b)kinda really slow (15 minutes to make the zip file slow) c)won't run FFE d)DoW has to run in Admin mode as the root directory is completely root protected so I can't use corsix, meaning I have to do AE work on the rig (when the TV is free) then transfer it on the network to the laptop to test. <br />

Basically, it's really not ideal and I know I've let at least two people down, but things changed and it's not really tenable. Realistically, in 30ish hours, my life is likely to change irrevocably and I don't know how much time I will actually have to play/mod, so as per my philosophy on these things, I'd rather you people had access to this in case I don't make it back. I fully intend to upload the finished version with voices, but Thud's busy and I have no idea how long it will take, so why not play in the downtime?<br />

I should be asleep now but I REALLY wanted to upload this today as I doubt I will get back to it for sometime, hence the slightly lacklustre screen grabs - sorry!<br />

I do welcome any feedback and prior to the voice release will look to make any vital changes (if the moons are aligned and the conditions are ideal for me to get at both computers) I just have no date or timescale for you at this point. If anything is critically wrong I shall endeavour to fix it quickly, but it won't get done for some time I suspect, however it all seems to work at my end on both pcs.<br />

This should be a fairly swift process, as I have re-coded all the mission SCAR and NIS files to make it as simple as possible to add extra race compatibility.<br />

The infamous Dawn of War narrator's voiceovers have been included at the start and end of each mission, although these can be skipped without affecting anything else.<br />
<br />
As an added bonus for anyone using the Steel Legion mod, I have included a (sort of) new mission, entitled Mannheim Bay. It's basically a conversion of Victory Bay from Dark Crusade, using the Steel Legion as antagonists. Note that this mission won't work at all unless you have the Steel Legion mod installed and linked into the Strongholds mod.<br />

Welcome to the Legiones Astartes mod! THis mod is heavily based off the Titanium Wards Dark Crusade mod by GrOrc but features a different view on Space Marines - the Space Marine Legions. Expect new types of units (such as the flamer armed Legion Support Squad and the fearedu Legion Destroyer squad) and new features (vehicle squadrons and bigger squad sizes) that best represent the might and fury of the Space Marines during the Great Crusade just before the Horus Heresy. <br />

Initially I will simply work on a standard &quot;Legion&quot; faction that includes all the base units from Forge World's The Horus Heresy Book One: Betrayal. Soon however I will include Legion specific units such as the World Eaters Ravager Squad and Deathguard's Deathshroud Terminators.<br />

-Legion Assault Terminator Squad (default Lightning Claws, no Thunder Hammers, no unit cap)<br />

Notes on balance: The primary goal of this mod is to create an accurate representation of the Space Marine Legions in Dawn of War. Balance is not a primary concern of this mod. If the Space Marines seemed overpowered when fighting Orks and Eldar then good! During the Great Crusade little could withstand the full fury of a Space Marine Legion, so their overpowered nature is actually accurate from a fluff/background standpoint.<br />

History: </b>On the 24th of March 2006 Palii, announced his intention to release a mod based on the Elysian Drop Troops. (<a href="http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?89460-MOD-Elysian-Legends-(Bad-News-Post-777)" target="_blank">Link</a>). Note: Sometime in this period I actually did work on some of the guards animations. Sadly his dream came to a end and he announced the mod had died a little over a year later. All was gone on the elysian front. That is until May 09 Palii returned to release his assets to the world. (<a href="http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?223987-SOURCE-Elysian-Legends-(for-Free-Public-Use)-(Soulstorm-ready!)" target="_blank">Link</a>) Enter me. Over the years, I attempted to work on a few on these things. Now has come the time to show this to the world.<b><br />

You, me and the future:<br />
</b>So this is where we stand. I am currently doing everything, except the UCS and 2d work which Gambit is doing and has already done a wonderful job on. The plans for the future is to split the mod into 2 versions on my pc. One version I shall be working on art assets in. This I will hopefully be able to release in hotfixs while I work on 0.4.  Version 0.4 is going to be a recode of the mod. The code is currently very bugged and as such I am going to recode the entire thing. I shall be release the 0.4 tech files in the coming days when I am done with them. So what do I need from you guys? Well pretty much everything. If you have skills in modelling, unwrapping, rigging, animating, texturing, FX, Coding, Mapping or OE. I need you. Anything anyone can do will be awesome and mean I can focus on something else. Most of all at the moment a AE coder. This is also a request for anyone who has already updated a model to come forward and help me improve this mod. As such for reporting the only bugs I am interested in are Beeping Sounds. Everything else I am well aware is bugged and will be fixed up in coming updates. I am aware current pictures suck and do not show all that much. Tomorrow I shall fix this. But it is late.<br />
