Because even though it recognizes the hdmi output, the "test" button for the tv's speakers in the sound manager on windows 7 (in properties, I also have the device set to enabled) gets a audio cue coming from those speakers, and I can get the application over to my TV through a hdmi port, it will not use its speakers no matter what, it just channels it through my computer's speakers. It won't reroute to it even with the speakers turned off. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious but I don't know what.

e: Got it to go. Better question now: How can I set it up so some programs (like Amazon Unbox) work through the TV, and others (say, Winamp) work through the speakers on my computer, without meddling with the defaults? Because now with the TV off no sound goes through the speaker's monitors.

e: Got it sorted so now I just have to change the default speaker setting between the TV and the computer. Is there a keyboard command I can use for that or should I just leave the manager up?

Right, I'm going to Uni this year, and I have enough money to purchase a portable computer device, I'm looking at spending around 500 - 600 quid and it's gotta be from store that's UK based, I would like to be able to play modern games on lower settings at least.

I've been eyeing up this Optimus Prime thing, without an OS, 4GBs of RAM and an i3-3120m it comes to exactly £600. Does anyone have any suggestions better than this or know of any secrit bargains going on? Thanks xx.
