Right, install dir path is not identical. Gotta check configs. Coh2 might generate them as well if they are missing.

You can play skirmish and keep developing a mod for the game itself. At least I can, after restoring my backup of CoH2 install folder.

You can still play it if you backed up whole COH2 folder. Steam wont remove executables and set other file sizes to 0 again.
