SMFPlay v2.0 - Play any game music/speech/sound effect easily

Here is updated version of my simple player for all the game music/speech/sound so you
can play them directly from the game archives without need of extracting or converting
anything :)

Download it from HERE (can be saved anywhere you want).

If it doesn't locate the sound archives folder automatically then find it yourself, defaults:

"C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\WW2\Archives" or
"C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes\WW2\Archives"

As a general question, is it possible to extract tracks and convert them to generic formats like WMA or MP3 ?

Is it me or do they sound quiet different than ingame? The riflemen voice sounds more gritty and the engineers actually have an accent. :D

Actually.. I've been looking through the directory oldspeech/allies so I'm guessing these didn't make it ingame. They sounds pretty good though :S

Ive been listening to some of the Pioneer sounds in AxisSpeech, and there seems to be a whole alternate voice for them.

Any way to replace these with the current pio sounds ?

EDIT_1: They are from the 'pn1' family. The current pioneer voice 'pack' is the 'pn2' family.

EDIT_2: Wow, so many speech files ive never heard. One sounds a lot like the FlaK 88 voice, but has many new speeches. One which particularly stood out was the fantastic "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT !?"

I'd love it if Relic released the tools because most of the voices which didn't make it in would be great to add more variety.. Would be good for modders so all of the different squads didn't sound exactly the same :S

My favourite one so far is *Blow the buuuiilding it's our oonly chaaaance*

All in an extremely dramatic tone :P

Also.. *I Never trusted those Tibetans.. The party spent far too much money on them*

If we extracted all of the files from Pn1 and renamed them to Pn2 before placing them in that directory perhaps that would work?

Oh sweet, now I don't have to extract and convert the files everytime I format.

Now all we need is one for DoW. ;)

Just had a chance to check this out and I must say - Very friggin cool.

Many of the voices I haven't heard and some of them are very well done. I assume many were omitted for one reason or another but curious if some could be reinstated via patch, if enough folks liked em. Either way, nice job Mann.

Also! If you open up the WW2SoundSoeechEnglish.sga from the play test and look for the file called: "speech/sp/dlc" You can hear some of the Tiger Ace mission briefings, Theres also a Tiger Song :rofl:

Did anyone find the main menu music for OF (the same one that plays when you install OF)? I'm thinking of using it as a ringtone.

Where the hell is the sound that goes "for honor and blood... etc." and "for the fatherland"?

Can you replace all those sounds with the old ones? And also the Menu music? :o

It's a shame that only like 10% of the voice files are actually used in the game :(

Assuming your phone allows for .wav files, yes, it works. Otherwise convert to something else like .mp3 and you're good to go.

Quite sure that's a placeholder, as the voice actors aren't even trying to sound German. The MP speech for the new Tigers is more interesting.

From the radio operator files:
"Die you inferior fuckers!"
"The French... those fuckers have a different word for everything."

From the loader files:
"I love to see naked women carved in stone."
"Actually, I just like to see naked women. It doesn't matter where... or how."

In the Grenadiers speech files, there's gwbw = wire, gesg = sandbags, and gege = ? All the sound files point to "digging in" and "jugend - grab that pick". Trenches? :(

Awesome. I know the only way to truly appreciate the voice acting is hearing it in game, but I don't think any of us will grow old enough to hear ALL of them, and then there are the unused files. Thank you, Mannerheim.

And why does the Flak have voices for capturing points?!

This is bloody depressing.
So many fantastic voice files, and as little as one tenth of them are used.

The jokes_vampire in ww2sound is LOLergangs.

While there are plenty of lines unused in-game, the amount that is in is massive. We've made an improvement to the way speech lines are randomized, so more variety will be heard. The vast majority of the unused speech is from the early development of CoH, before many things were finalized. There are also characters that were recorded and found not to fit in-game, so were re-recorded (PN1). There is a lot of golden stuff in there though - so you may find more and more applicable unused lines having been implemented in future patches...

Original (vCOH) Menu Music [since someone asked] is known as "menu_screen_v2".

If only there was some way to revert it back to what plays when you open up OF...

I have used a small sga addon for that. It overrides the old music but it requires you to modify the reliccoh.module or use newer coh launcher :)

Wow I never knew CoH had so many brilliant voices. I'm hoping DoW 2 receives the same treatment.

Some of the annoyed quotes are hilarious. I hope there's more 4th wall breakage for future Relic games haha.
