    Stormboy Stickbombs

I haven't played much 1.5 due to lag - really only computer skirmish stuff to test out the new toys. But I just wanted to say something about stikkbombs.

So, I can pretty much imagine every ork player getting all excited about them in the pre-beta list, then actually seeing what they do and thinking: 'eh??? is that it?' and then laughing their asses off. I know I did.

I should note that I'm not saying buff them or anything. I'm just wondering what the point of the them is supossed to be. It seems way more hassle to go through the effort of using them then any effeect they might give. Does anyone get much advantage out of them? Knocking down the odd hero I guess... but still: usually more hassle than it's worth.

It's a free 80-90 damage guaranteed in a radius of 4, and knocks folks on their butts for a bit. It's a way that you can disrupt two squads at once on the initial jump-in, meleeing one squad and Stikking the other.

Considering that most squads in Tier 1 have 300-400 HP, that's about 20-25% of their max HP in a single blast. It's really nasty for other Ork boyz pre 'Eavy Armor since they've only got about 250 HP. Stack that with two or three bombs, and you've got quite a few nearly-dead units.

It's free too. Always a perk.

Is it a radius of 4? Man, seems a lot less than that to me. I only ever seem to be able to hit like 1 person in the unit with it. If only they'd bunch up closer together like good proper enemies Good to know though, thanks Nick.

Minus the fact that the jump troops STOP for a good while before using them.

Unless the orks do melee damage while throwing the bomb... I've only used it before getting into melee and they just sit around for a while.

Yeah, I've kinda noticed that too. It's like the whole unit needs to sort of set up or something before chucking the bomb. Frankly, half the time I just think stuff it: just send them into fight, esp if there's something shooting me up while I fluff about with the micro.

Jump to the middle of a enermy group which makes them stop completly for about a second, this is enough time to throw the bomb.

it's very good against retreating squads. Say you've got some tacs on the run, you can jump over them and hurl the bomb. Knocks them down for a bit so your shootas can get some pot shots in.
