    Patch 1.15 is in the works.


    Server Status:


    The server is up but there are still load related issues. We're working on a new patch to further reduce the load clients are placing on the server.
    I'm glad there still working on it, but i'm wondering how there network is setup, is it just one server? IMO, they should have mulitple servers, alot in the us, and some international (like germany, etc), and able for the user to select there location, then a server with its lowest ping the to user, the person would connect to that server.

    Anyways, i'm just bored and typing random ideas, hopfully we can start truely 100% beta test when they figure out these network issues, or hell just build a supercomputer :P (too bad everything cost money )

    Hopefully the game sells like hot cakes and Relic is able to upgrade the online service to something more powerful akin to Blizzard's WC3 service. Online service+mod support will make or break this game IMHO.

    I have and I failed and the fact you had to beat training to play made me a sad :sadpanda: .

    I hope this new patch will straighten things out, BTW does anyone know the max limit of players like 4v4?

    Tranj says in the 1.4 thread that they're trying to get another patch out today.

    Max players in release will be 4 versus 4 (8 total), not sure if/when they'll release 4v4 maps for beta though.

    Hopefully the game sells like hot cakes and Relic is able to upgrade the online service to something more powerful akin to Blizzard's WC3 service. Online service+mod support will make or break this game IMHO.
    The online service itself is just as powerful, if not even MORE powerful than what Blizzard got.
    It's just the servers that aren't of the same capabilities, and together with the overhead bugs, it all causes lag and disconnection issues with the server.

    But speaking about Relic Online; I've never seen such an advanced online RTS lobby before with all its features.

    That's awesome! The Beta may be buggy (which is understandable), but they do have a great customer service.

    The server power is not the problem, it's a client bug that was asking the server way too many questions, way too often...damn, if only I could patch that out of my kids.
    Now if only you could have dual moniter support and have your kids watch your tactical map while you play.

    Out 15yr old is away at bording school right now. Total reformatting was the only option. Kid had some major malware and too many trojans for such a young man.

    Glad to hear they are patching so soon. I've played DoW since it's inception and it looks like CoH will be another big hit. I already have mine preordered.

    I couldn't care less if they fix the server issues as long as they deal with the stupid "Connection Error" box and instead maybe just have a little red dot in the corner or something, I hate it when I have to play quick draw with the stupid thing waiting for it to go away just so I can log off

    869 ppl online and NO PROBLEMS AT ALL! is this a good sign? no conection problems, no nothing.

    at least for a while. then i exited the game.

    it worked out for me for 1 1/2h now...then i quit played a round CoD2 came back and couldent connect...but iam sure they fix that

    Well, the change we had in to help try and reduce the load did not have the hoped for effect, so we are introducing a number of other fixes and changes to help. Unfortunately these will not clear QA in time to go out tonight. If all goes well, we will have this ready for tomorrow mid day PST.

    I don't mind the problems (well it's a beta, problems are standard ) because you guys are giving us a great support with the fast fixes/patches :smash:

    It doesn't get nearly the QA that a release patch does, but we don't want it going out there and being completely useless. Not completely fixing an issue is one thing, horribly breaking everythign is another.

    QA is 'quality assurance' not 'question & answer'. It's essentially the internal testing phase before they release the patch to the community. Hope that clarifies it a bit.

    We are not QA, we are UAT (user-acceptance testing). If it passes QA, then it makes it to us. If it makes it past us (not much has, recently ), then it makes it into retail, probably.

    It doesnt fix anything for me either, I still cant play that damn game. Will they ever fix that problem?
