absically, why cant your troops hide behind you tanks for heavy cover? seems a bit strange to me..... anyone else think this should be implemented?

While a good idea it would be an AI and general processing nightmare.

Troops can hide behind the shells of destroyed tanks until those shells are destroyed themselves or harvested by an axis player for salvage.

NovaBurn, your Grace Park avatar taunts me.

Do the tanks not interfere with fire? As in you put an infantryman behind a tank and tell a sniper to fire at the infantryman THROUGH the tank, will the shot not bounce off?

I would assume that the sniper will reposition itself to get a clear shot to fire, similar to that of a unit being behind a wall or emplacement where he cannot get a clear shot. I have not paid close enough attention to notice specifically though.

    Yes my avatar is hot.

I have had my infantry chewed up by MGs even though they were behind a tanks. Especially engineers.

I've tried, and as far as I can tell fire goes through tanks =<. I remember some of my paratroopers were pinned down by a bunker, and I drove a tank in front of it in hopes of blocking its fire while it could be destroyed. Instead, the machine gun nest fired through the tank and pinned all my paratroopers, forcing a retreat from the enemy base >_<.

I once had engineers repairing a Sherman that was inbetween the engies and a MG-42. It looked like all the shots where bouncing off the tank itself but my engie squad still took damage. Oddly enough, they took very little damage, less than normal.
