    Balance thread, backed with evidence.

    http://www.forumplanet.com/planetcom...id=1939135&p=1

    The most interesting piece:

    Pershing Tank vs Tiger

There was only one tank my tester would allow me to try the Pershing against, and that was the Tiger. People talk about the two tanks being a poorly balanced match, here are the results of the Pershing's shots against the Tiger:

Hit Rate: 100% (Of 50 shots, none missed)
Penetration Rate: 48% (Of 50 shots, 23 were penetrating)
Glancing Hit Rate: 54% (Of 50 shots, 27 were glancing)

So the amazing, decisive result was!!!!! Lukewarm. The Pershing had about 50/50 penetration/glancing chance against the Tiger. And, as you will later see, the Pershing takes about 50/50 damage from the Pershing Tank. The real difference is the damage, wherein the Tiger did about (~)1/7th damage to the Pershing, whereas the Tiger took about (~)1/10th damage from the Pershing.

Awesome analysis, and I agree with most of his suggestions except two things. Volks at 260 is too cheap, and the panzershreck at 50 is too low as well.

I have to disagree. Knight's Cross Holders are awesome against infantry units and can take truckloads of enemy fire before one of them goes down. Reducing their cost would make them even further spam able, while an increased squad size would be overpowered.

The problem with KCH's are that they're very vulnerable to explosives of any sort. They can waltz through infantry fire unscathed, but when those grenades start flying they get crushed very quickly.

That may be true, but at that price, you're better off being two squads of volks and go capping. Or even, fuel allowing, purchasing a tank. Their original price make them more appealing.

You can pin Knights Cross in seconds with a bar and shred them at your own pace afterwards. They are simply not worth building.

That's a problem of the supressing fire ability of rifleman squads that the whole axis infantry is suffering from. Everyone using it knows that it is simply overpowered right now.

It depends on your priorities and the situation. When facing mostly infantry and the enemy makes not much use of the supressing fire ability, one KCH squad has a good chance of killing more than twice or tripple of their cost.

That is true, but as it is now I doubt you will ever see them really. They are too easily suppressed and you can, if you feel like it, snipe them to death [3 member squads are sniper bait].

Personally, I think they are a waste of time, effort and importantly resources. I would sooner have another tank, another squad of Volks with MP40s, Grenadiers or just about anything. KC are too easily countered and too expensive to be worth-while.

Then just make them harder to supress/pin and give them a 50% chance to evade sniper bullets, while limiting them to one squad per player to prevent spamming. That would be fine, i think.

Doesn't make much sense to keep putting restriction caps on units. Buff them with Frosty's advise and simply raise the MP required?

I deleted my take on KCH since we seem to deter from the topic at hand (which is, and I quote, golden). Shall we agree to disagree?

    You have done great work.

I too would like to see more of the Panzer 4 on the field. Maybe they could stagger the upgrades at the kampkraft centre a bit. For instance allow the P4 to get the damage reduction and a MG in for the vet upgrade, the skirts at the crack upgrade (so they are fully upgraded by crack level), leaving the Panther upgrades the way they are.

This may put a few more P4s on the field, even fully upgraded ones.

Edit. Thinking about it more, another idea would be to give the P4 all its upgrades at vet level. Obviously balance would have to be taken into account with its other values. This would give a bit more choice and diversity.

By all means the work is not mine. I am simply the messenger. Full credit of the entire analysis goes to 1stStrikeRecon.

    KCH *are* harder to pin.

They can run through an MG firing at them without getting supressed.

Also, they're only vulnerable to explosives if they stop, which given their SMGs isn't really necessary.
