I did a 512*512 8 Player map, that compared with the stuff i usually do is relatively simple, and so was made in a shorter time. The map is an island, with a volcano on it and two big orky bases for 4 players each. ( This time nobody will have a reason to complain about not having enough space! )
It is mostly sand ( i did use a sand detail texture that was included in one of the Community Mappacks so you need to have them ), Jungle and all orky bitz i could scrap out of the map editor.

The map does work with WA and any Race, but i would strongly recommend to play it with the Grotfest Mod, or at least with Orks, because its style is Orky.

    Download here

    Overview:

    The volcano crater:

    Sand and trees:

    Trees and orky stuff:

    More trees:

    Passable bridge:

    Orky fortification:

Next task on mapping agenda: Finish 6p Biosphere.

ohh, fun, I'll take a looksy later on.

Once i've finished off my own GrotFest map, I'll be uploading that with this one into the GFmod download package thingy, plus the changes to the code etc etc.
I think I'll have enough time to just tinker around with code at Uni, so every now and then I can give you lot a new version to play with
(also I can put the custom textures into the download for those without the mappack)

Looks great Wargrim, but 3 points from me:

The main problem is the ground texture:
    1) The sand is too plain at the moment, all over the map, its the same colour, try using the texture stamping to paint it up more (look at Runtz Island to see how I did it)
    2) The craters don't really fit the sand, perhaps look for a more suitable crater decal, and also use the outer-ring decals for the edges of them, to help them blend into the environment.
    3) The tank treads need work, they shouldn't be so clean through the map, and in my opinion look better when alternatedly seperated out and boldened, and more than one track can be seen going in the same direction. See Grot Fest - the Arena if you have it, and look at the trakk racing track.

I like the use of the Orky bridges, and also the volcanic slag deposit area looks great too.

Ok, i did work over the sand and did exchange the crater decals. But i did not change the tracks, i like them the way they are. I will upload the new version later.

I count 19 downloads on it, anybody willing to give a comment on how he likes the look and how it plays?
