    actually as of right now, it would be way too unbalanced. Cause when the UC guys were making the units they made attack powers adn armors and everything WAY too high.
    The ZAFT units as you probably already know, they are better then the higgy and vagyr units, but a single group of GINNs can easily be killed by the higgy or vagyr.
    On the other hand the UC mod, a squad of GMs can take on a higgy BC easily and if you pit them against zaft, 2 squads of anti ship zakus can take out the minerva with little trouble.

    If however someone had a lot of time on their hands (A LOT) they could probably balance the UC units to the ZAFT units.

    hmm, but the chance of the SEED gundams winning is a little higher... Cause the attack speed for all the ships and gundams from SEED is high and fast...
    The strongest federation's ships "Birmingham" and "dedorium orchis" is strong in fire power. The dedorium orchis is resistant to beams attack but weak against missiles and CIWS, especially when the minerva that is attacking, since it can shoot lots of missiles in a few seconds. The birmingham can easily be overpowered by many gundams and one hit of minerva's tannhauser could be fatal...

    But the downside of the SEED gundams and ships is that the mothership, Gondwana, is weak in everything except being the only one able to build good ships, while the federation's mothership, the battle carrier albion have heavy turrets and strong laser cannon, and the zeon mothership have 3 strong cannon and many small turrets to defend itself.

    A Zaku II from the UC mod would probably destroy the Minerva, Debrodium and Birningham would be too much xD

    I kinda wish they could somehow build the ability for the gondwanan to be able to build 2 things simultaneously (yes i realize that its impossible in this game, but the things so fcking huge)

    And to code, yeah the denrobium could probably be killed in battle against the minerva, because I realise that its a powerhouse but the denrobium does kinda suck.
    The birmingham would own the minerva on the other hand becuase I've tryed it, it simply has too much armor and attack power, after getting hit by all of the minervas guns, and the Tannhauser. The birmingham just came back with a single volley from its main guns and destroyed the minerva.

    Either that, or somethign that woul dbe nice is make a shipyard ship, only it can't make MS all it can make is frigates or capital ships, which those then in turn can make the MS and fighters.

    dont know about that. i just thought of something. what if, and i have no idea if it would work, they made a subsystem similar to the research ones but it was added another build queue and it was limited to one of these modules at a time.

    Good Esca, I was jsut checking that people here at least knew, becuase the morons at the anime con I went to like a month ago were "100% sure that I was wrong" and wouldn't believe not only that it was the mendel colony, but they wouldn't believe me that Mendel was a genetic scientist (actually a monk who experimented around) and yes its where the coordinator labs were (coincidence I THINK NOT)
    I wonder about something though (probably gonna do this myself), what if you were to add to the game a buildable "ship" colony that would increase your resource generation speeds, and could deploy a couple squadrons of fighters to defend itself.

    its probably possible. for that idea id say look somewhat at the coding for the Empire at war games as the hangars on ships do spawn fighters. whether it would work homeworld 2 who knows. I remember him now i know he deffinatly worked on flowers i think some vegetables too but jeez that was like 10 years ago i learned about him

    You can get a CTD if you have made ANY mistakes in the locale. Missing a space or a double up on a number. Its a right pain in the arse to play with. But for large scale editing it's also the fastest way.

    I do hope that the SEEDenglish.big is in the Data folder.

    also your command line should look line this

    *****\Homeworld2.exe" -mod Seedmod1.2beta.big,EnglishSEED.big -overridebigfile

    otherwise it won't read the big file for the english big you've created. .big files are ALWAYS placed into the Data directory.

    And if you've already done all this sorry for the wall-o-text.
    So i found the patch, but it doesnt work.. Because when i try to replace the the path it says it cannot find the files + i'ts not clear what i must do prior to that..

    some help plz ?

    Okay,
    First install homeworld 2 and then upgrade to version 1.1
    after that install the seed mod and then place the english patch files in the data folder.
    so now you take the shortcut and advance the commandline with the add-ons,
    it should look like this C:\Programs\Sierra\Homeworld2\***\Homeworld2.exe -mod Seedmod1.2.big,EnglishSEED.big -overridebigfile
    or alot easier with a already tested and working version:

    get the files place it into data and just edit the command line:
    -mod Seedmodbeta1.2.big -overridebigfile

    I have Exams next week, and I'm not gonna bother studying, because if I haven't learned the stuff by now in class, reading a page while bored and uncaring isn't gonna help it at all.

    True story, first time I took the SATs, i studied for a week and a half, got a good nights sleep, had a nice breakfast. I got about a 1200 on it. (not good)
    Second time, I forgot I had signed up, spent the week before playing videogames and airsoft, didn't sleep the night before, spent that time playing a combination of Ace Combat 6, Halo 3, and Armored Core for Answer, and my "great breakfast" consisted of a poptart and a liter of Mountain Dew.
    I got a 2100 for the SAT that time (very good)

    i wonder perhaps you have to disable DEP on win 7 or something special, lemee mess around with it on my new laptop for a bit caus ei just got a new toshiba satellite with win 7 64 bit

    the error comes from patcher or the error comes from trying to load the game after patching, cause so far it works completely fine, theres an error with the GFX drivers, but that comes up on any modern system

    define does not work (amstel still trying ot figure out your issues) but what aobut yours doesnt work Maya, did HW2 work before you put the mod in, or are you trying ot get that itself to work? Also what OS are you currently using

    Just try rewriting OS take example from Kira :P definitely should work. Start from modyfing kernel, and the graph. drivers leave on the end XD

    that was retorical, I do know that linux can run windows programs using an emulator program called wine or something like that. and in truth linux could be the best OS out there becuase not only is it free, but its got some of the best anti virus protection and everything. only problem is is that to be able to effectivly use the OS you have to be on the FBI's white hat list.

    And to Aki, i have a freeware program on my win 7 beta comp that makes it so the boot screen instead of shoring the whole windows 7 loading, it'll randomly choose between 1 of 6 things, 3 of them being the booting screen of Seed's gundams, 1 of them is the wing zero, and the other 2 right now jsut load normally but I have the ability to add somethign to them to show just trying to figure out what I want.
    Although, I don't really remember where I got the program I think my friend Carrera gave it to me, but I can't personally do anything ot the program cause I can't read japanese, adn you can't copy/paste the thigns oyu need to read.



    However on the note of HW2 Seed mod, since today i have a day off from work/school becuas eof the blizzard we're having, I've gotten to play for a while and I made the most interesting match of the game so far that iv played.

    I modded the higgy and vagyr starting teams to be 2x the size (each has 1 mothership 3 carriers and 20 gunturrets. and I'm doing a 5 v 1 match on the map where the map is split in 2 with a burning nebula, I've already taken down the 2 AIs on my side of the field, but am having some trouble getting the guys on the other side because I found a "harder" higgy and vagyr AI patch, not really harder, but they are more defencive, and they like the ion platforms, and they are actually playing very well, good job AI.

    So while I'm taking a break of this match to get some lunch, and gonna go play some armored core for an hour or 2, what's everyone elses idea for how to counter this.
    Mods to their AI, enemy will much more oftenly build def turrets, instead of just building a force and throwing it at you, it will split up its forces and hit you with pincer attacks, including ones from high and low altitude (the only way they can actually get past the nebula line without damage), they attempt to build large hexagonal arrays of def turrets, starting off first with a hex around their mothership and then making ones a little farther away, and then ones a little farther. They still aren't smart enough to pull their forces out of burning nebulas. And they already have what seems like all the upgrades for their forces, they build a lot of destroyers, BCs, and anti corvete frigates
    its 2 higgy and 1 vaygr. Also like voiced earlier I can build the UC Ball that has been toned down a little and has the command ability of the K type Ball.
    So far I can attack them and get a good way in, but they simply can build too fast with their mass array of capships (they can have over 40 carriers per team, while I can only have 20 nezcas and 3 gondwonans), aside from taht the only other differences between my game and all of yours is that I have Sniper GINNs added, they deploy in single units, have sight range a little higher then the standard scouts (for scouts they have an upgrade which makes their sensor range a bit farther) they fire at their max sight range and do about the same damage as the scout GINN, only from really long range. Also all the limits for ships are much higher, I can have 4 minervas and such. can have 2 of the duel and buster each, and 1 each of the 9ccn MS at once, and 3 of each of the ace MS including the Ginn veira or w/e its called.
    Mining resourcces is at 2x the normal rate, also there is each second a resource injection of 10 RUs
    So lets hear some startegy you guys can come up with for this, because in the long run if I don't stop my blitz attack to take out some of their ships, they are going to be able to build enough stuff to beat me by sheer overwhelmation even if i have full forces.

    oh yes, i forgot ot mention
    I do have genesis, just its attack range is too short to be able to hit them on the other side without getting killed in the nebula, and it moves too slow so if I try to move it above or below the nebula to attack, the enemy sends a fleet of BCs to take it down so i have to withdraw it cause I don't want to lose it (though its there, its not buildable, I just added it to my starting fleet) so I use that for my primary defence.
    and all I added from the UC mod are teh platforms adn the Balls, perhaps throwing the core fighters in to act like teh mobieus MAs and since they're fast (they have a stock like 510 speed I think) they would be even better for blitzkrieg attacks. I think ill add them to zaft later

    still after about 2 hours of fighting back and forth are at a general stalemate for this match.
    Damn, this is a lot different then with the normal game AI, this 1s actually freakign smart, it actually uses minelayers, it just makes little walls of mines around where the mothership is, but since this is the first time I've ever encountered enemy mines. i figured somethign out, they are really freaking powerful

    its like 2-3 mines takes out a higgy frigate any of them. well zaft does have a core fighter so adding the UCs in the interim cant be too bad
