EDIT: just pulled 50 artworks from one PDF there, that should give you an accurate idea.

I also want to try somthing, might be able to paste em into paint, that would work.

EDIT: It works, i can get em into paint, i should have no problems getting them all together (bar the time) and eithier putting em up on image shack or zipping them all up into one zip archive and loading them up somwhere.

EDIT: will put up a selection of the best artworks (IMHO) now, give me 10 mins to get em all into paint.

Linky's to a few of the best from just one PDF file.

    http://img208.imageshack.us/my.php?image=i1hm5.jpg

    http://img128.imageshack.us/my.php?image=i2fn7.jpg

    http://img128.imageshack.us/my.php?image=i3zj8.jpg

    http://img128.imageshack.us/my.php?image=i4np0.jpg

    http://img208.imageshack.us/my.php?image=i5ir5.jpg

    http://img128.imageshack.us/my.php?image=i6kj9.jpg

    http://img128.imageshack.us/my.php?image=i7wr0.jpg

    http://img128.imageshack.us/my.php?image=i8hk7.jpg

    http://img128.imageshack.us/my.php?image=i9hm4.jpg

They are all slightly scaled down even with a full window, and sorry for the amount of white space, they're rather large in the PDF (and look great as a full computer screen width at 200% zoom, so they should scale well upto 1600X1200).

As i said these are just 9 out of 41 from one file and i have around 200 files. Most files have at least 1 pic, and some have 50+. Go figure my workload to sort this lot out.

p.s. i think i'll use a Zip aArchive in furture as that took too long to do to even consider with 300+ images in one go.

But fortunately only in few examples . (I just found for example this Tau commander will be better without grey gradients in corner...)

    @Carl:

Those samples are in many examples not suitable for 1600x1200. I hope will be good enough to 1280x960.

    _________

I'm thinking about finish series at 100... but the last word should come from your side (together with high res samples - my galleries are almost exceeded) .

Hmm, never used it, upto 30 pictures now in paint JPEG format, and still rising.

EDIT: I'll keep the updates on my progress to daily updates except for Important landmarks (i.e. finishing a set of PDF's off) as this is going to take a couple of week for them all at a geuss. Whilst i doubt EvilKillaruna can use em all i don't know what good and what isn't so i have to give him the lot.

So the First Major Landmark is getting the Rulebook PDF files for Inquisitor out of the way. I now need to do the Inquisitor extra rules PDF's. (Wish me luck).

Great job evil. Keep up the great work. I actualy agree that you should stop at 100 because that's a nice round number where there enough wallpapers to please everyone without getting redundent. And i'm sure you need a brack by now too

  12. #212
Great Work Killa, only 4 more Wallpapers, i find awesome what you did with the Necron Lord.

Mostly on GW official site and from forum members...

As a 100 wallpaper I have something special for you... I mean unorthodox wallpaper showing all armies members. The size is nice.. 2000x1500.
So now the total count is 100 . First page updated.

If I'll find something worth for wallpaper, you should have more than 100 :talk:.

  19. #219

    Fixed double same wallpapers. HF.

Not neccissarilly, a lot of pics are saemy, and some arn't very good, i've just included them all for completness (i'll let you judge which are good and bad). Also i think there are more than a few repeats in there, but i'm not sure (i've spent 5 hours going "Left-Click to select, Ctrl+C to copy, Ctrl+N to open a new Paint Document, Ctrl+V to Paste, Ctrl+S to bring save screen up, Double-Click the Samples Folder, Input Numbers string for name, Rinse and repeat". Boring as hell.).

Anyway, you mentioned Rapidshare, how do i use it?

Have you put anywhere in your art that the original work is done by Games Workshop? You may want to, if you havent.. Avoid some legal issues.

    So don't worry.

Well... hard to say because I've never used it before. Probably as same as imageshack.us: go there, choose your file, upload, copy adress and paste here in your post.

I remember you can store file in size up to ~300 MB.

  27. #227
Maybe you could do some wallpapers with this:

    http://www.warseer.com/forums/showpo...2&postcount=26

    http://www.warseer.com/forums/showpo...5&postcount=27

The Harlys, new Harlys by the way, you know... Relic based theyr Harlys on GW's New models.

  28. #228
Indeed. As same as those in DC...

But for wallpapers... well.. I'm neutral. I can of course use this models but figures from TT are not "real" in terms of proportion. I've had that problem before on one from my first wallpapers: WL + Dread + Defiler (very similar to 1st and 2nd wallpapers on first page). I've had GW drawings with dread and defiler but no for WL. So I used TT model and effect wasn't perfect :/.

  30. #230
Well, you have used the models to a good extent, Hammerhead and Devilish i think.

  31. #231
    Thnx Carl
    Downloading now.

    Ok Evilkillaruna.

    @Evryone Else:

If you want a specific one from the list you'd better tell EvilKillaruna to do it as there are far too many there for him to do them all into wallpapers and a lot will only make a good wallpaper for a few people TBH. (allthough there is some excellent Wallpaper ones in there IMHO).

A list of good ones for Wallpapers IMHO: B1, B33 (a rare artwork of a Demurig Ship, bassicly they are the Squat remenants), B34, B39, B40, B71, B116, B118, B120, B121 (Planet Killier shots, they're of models, but of sufficent quality to warrent inclusion IMHO), B122, B130 (Nids), B132, B142, B144 (the only artwork of Dark Eldar ships that i know of), B145 (Nids), B152, B154 (planet killier again), B155, B156, B158, B159, B160, B161, B162, B163, B164, B170, B171, B172 (better quality version of an earlier pic listed BTW), B176, B177, B178, B179 (these last 4 are a single ship, the Divine Right, and her bridge crew), B181, B204 (sorry for the out of scale with the previous ship images, they had to be edited as they copyed across as stretched for some odd reason), B227, B228, B229, B235, B245, B246, B248, B243,
    B254, B259, B261, B265 (Manta Pic), B268 (another Demurig), B275, B276 (Necron Tomb World), B280, B281 (Zonathorpe), B285 (one of 2 Pics of a craftworld), B291, E1, E2, E12, E13, E14, E15, E30, E31, E33, E34, E37, E39 (SL HWP in there), E40, E41, E43, E45, E48 (idea for Grabnutz'z Grotfest Mod Perhaps), E50, E62, E63, E75, E77, E78, E79, E80, E82, E83, E84, E85, E87, E88, E89, E90, E91 (VERY rare artwork of a Wraithguard), E93, E94, E96, E101, E102, E103 (only artwork of an Eldar titan i've ever seen), E104, E105, E106 (only artwork of a Deathwind Battery), I1, I2, I3, I4, I5, I6, I7, I8, I10, I11, I12, I13, I14, I15, I16, I17, I18, I19, I20, I21, I22 (Inquisitor Tyrus), I23 (Inquisitor Eisenhorn), I24 (Inquisitor Covenant), I25, I29, I36, I37, I38, I45, I68, I70, I71, I72, I75, I76, I79, I80, I81, I82, I84, I87, I88, I89, I92, I93, I95, and I96

B189 is the Sedito Optimare for those who love/hate this ship

B207 is a GK Strike Cruiser.

B252 is an Ork Space Hulk.

Also many of the ship side on's could be collaged together to create a few wallpapers.

Finnially, in some of the I numbers i've cropped the background images to foucus on the main character, if you want any without uncroped backgrounds let me know.

EDIT: also this is a great recource for mod teams needing model pics to do models/concept art from.

I could get about as many again from my fantasy related PDF's and Nercromunda PDF's

    http://img59.imageshack.us/my.php?image=e48dc8.jpg

Linky to an imageshack upload of the Grot Biker.

Gonna go add this to the humour thread and he Grotfest Thread in Adeptus Mechanicus.

I have a question to you guys.. what about copyrights? Can I have any "problems" due to using images from games-workshop.com? Everything is fine when I've put notifications (into wallpapers too) that all graphics are from games workshop?

I belive your okay, the IP can ceartinly be interpreted that way, It is GW property but as long as you don't hard link to anything (whatever hard liniking means) then your within your rights to use it if you credit GW with it.

P.S was what i sent you any good or haven't you had chance to look?

Well, technically Carl, everything is not alright. Just because you have credited GW as the source of the image does not give you the legal right to copy an image in which GW presumably owns copyright in. Even if you haven't used the entire image, you've presumably taken the figure depicted in the image, which is a substantial part of GW's copyright and you're still in a bit of trouble.

In short, you are unfortunately on shaky legal ground (hate to rain on your parade:sadpanda:...) I'm not going to write an essay on copyright here, but if you want to know a bit more, PM me, although by necessity, what I know about copyright law is limited to Australian (and by extension English) law, and not US law, which if the images came off games-workshop.com, is likely to be law that applies.

These wallpapers are truly impressive, I like how you portray all the races in such a "gothic" light, it's very 40k, very cool. Now all you need is some more orks, a squiggy or some grots perhaps.....

lol, but in all seriousness, good freak'n job, I've got the big mek one as my background right now XD

    KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

  42. #242
P.S was what i sent you any good or haven't you had chance to look?
I've seen some of them and mainly they are good enough for wallpapers .

But going back to copyrights... Is there any member of GW on forum that I'll be able sent PM to him? Or maybe there is an e-mail to GW?

I believe this shouldn't be problem because whole thread and wallpapers are with notifications and all wallpapers was made with purpose: "for fun".

I wonder what the moderators think about it...

If there will be any problems anyway, I'll have to take down all wallpapers . Nevertheless it was a great pleasure and fun guys.

I'll certainly try, but I recommend that if you do want a clear and correct view on legality its best to contact a GW representive. I'll send you a PM if I find something.

Ok. The proper question was sent to GW. I wonder when they send me and what will be their answer...

And I think the best solution will be to remove almost all wallpapers based on GW graphics - for sure. The process of sending them a question is also too difficult. :hdown:

    BUT

This thread will be continued soon. Next time I'll try to use in-game graphics (just like those posted by Compeador) and focus more on effects... My DoW is working on 1024x768 so samples will be huge .

I hope you were enjoyed a lot as same as me.

Thnx for Molecule for help in understanding their policy and all warm (and cold too) posts. I'll try to learn all your suggestions and feedbacks and use them to make better and better wallpapers for the community.

Please understand me and be ready for new artworks. This time - my own. :yippee:

To remove all tears I'll sit again behind my comp and try to exchange units from last wallpaper with those from DoW directly...
