I thought it was shipping in September? or are you talking about the US?
it's being released this week in the US
but it seems at different times... today was a date but im not sure if it got pushed back :square:
I'd really like to know when I can go get it. Today? Tomorrow?
Also, I really wish more companies would do 'electronic delivery' similiar to Steam and lower the prices around $20 for this method. I'd gladly pay $29.99 for nothing but a key. I don't like/need the packaging anyway.
my pre-release order from gamestop says its being shipped today. not sure if its right though.
yeah eb/gamestop say it's today.. i called my local eb and htey said htey didn't know when they were getting it in.. he said "probably wed."my pre-release order from gamestop says its being shipped today. not sure if its right though.
my gamestop said tomorrow

they actually just changed my order status from September 11th to within 24 hours lol. if i remember last preorder from gamestop it just kinda showed up but was before you could get in the stores by a day or 2.
Hopefully today:

Well i thought the release date is 14th for US/Can. Game tells me ships 29th..=/ You lucky americans/canadians
Well, ship date dates and street dates are often too different things. Some publishers will even ship the game early to stores, but require that they not sell it to an official street date. This is done more often with enormous titles such as Halo2 etc, where they are expective massive sale through the first few days.
Usually, there is no official street date. The game gets shipped on a particular day, often monday, and then it shows up the next day or two at the EB and Gamestop type store, followed by shipping to more mainstream stores like Bestbuy, Target, etc the next 3 to 5 days.
The only real question is if today is the ship date, and if there is a official street date that the retailers are held too. From what I have heard talking to my friend who works at EB, there is not official street date, so its all about when the game gets shipped. If its today, then the specialty store in the US will have copies by tommorow in many places, wednesday at latest.
Interesting d0m1n0, no Fry's around here. Wonder if Best Buy or CompUSA would also have it on shelfs by 4pm...
Jesus! Weird Amazon says:
German Amazon.de Website :
Company of Heroes
29. September 2006
Amazon.com Website :
Company of Heroes
Release Date: September 11, 2006
Availability: Usually ships within 1 to 2 weeks. Ships from and sold by Amazon.com.
Amazon, :yas:
Soldier of Destiny - Axis; Blitzkrieg Tree
If Fry's is running that deal, I will have to got get my copies there. Heck, its 10 bucks less on top of coming out today!!!! I know where I need to go after work today!
Nevermind, if you look at that ad better it says, 'ALL TITLES AVAILABLE TUE 9/12/06'
If you see the star, it said that its available today at 4 depeding on manifacturer. So if Relic or whoever is the distributer for Fry's has shipped it, they may well have it today. My guess is that they are willing to take a loss on the game to get people in the door and look at other stuff. Its common for larger retailers like Fry's and Best Buy to do that. EB and Gamestop make their $$ off of game sales, so they can't afford to cripple their game sales the same way to get people in the door.
doh! You're right, I didn't even see that.Originally Posted by FL-

EBGames and Gamestop both have it listed as shipping in 24 hours. This means that any store that gets new releases on day one should have the game tomorrow...
Sooo if you can get it tomorrow (maybe) then when can I get it Germany...?![]()
I'm picking up my copy tomorrow (Sep. 12th) at my local EB Games. (btw I'm up in Canada).
gamestop JUST SAID on their site it was "Arrives 9/11".. i just checked and it's now changed to "shipping now"
Just a note for Europeans; your release date is September 29th.
My just shipped from ebgames, hope it wont take to many days until it reaches me here in sweden (ya, i live in europe)
Company of Heroes 1 Shipped xxxxxxxxxxxx $49.99
i will laugh my ass off and be pissed off at the same time if ebgames doesn't have it tomorrow.. they are so backwards i wont be surprised
Local GameStop says I can pick mine up tomorrow... whee!
Noticed that on some sites too..Just a note for Europeans; your release date is September 29th.
Who had that great idea?!![]()
Yes,,, realy great idea. Only looser will be Relic or who ever makes money selling pc games.
supply and demand... probably couldn't make enough to supply america and europe
so the 2nd batch of boxes goes to europe
I'm just pissed off @ futureshop. They said they will have it today and now it says out of stock! EB gets it stock tomorrow and thursday, So I'm hoping they have it tomorrow.
As a European, I had long ago resigned myself to the later release date. As a result, I'm not phased by our cousins recieving it first.
Really. Really... T__T; *sob*

Thread cleaned up.
Brinkman, do not post in this thread again.
I never understood those different releasedates for different continents.. Why not just delay a game until you can release it worldwide at the same time? Nobody will ever know you delayed it, and everybody would be happy getting to play the game at the same time.. Now it only frustrates people they have to wait a few more weeks while others accross the pond are already playing it..
Why don't publishers get this??
Well, chances are they plan on that orginally, and so they set the release date worldwide to say (for example) september 11th.I never understood those different releasedates for different continents.. But due to shortage of games, they have to either A, push back everyones release date and then off everyone, or B, push back europe release date and then off only the europeans....
Why europe? I assume its because america and canada probably buys many more games and demand is much higher.
If you've noticed their accuracy (scoutcars), it's almost as if the gunner has a death wish or has made a bet with Klaus over who can shoot more bullets into the ground than the enemy.

I really doubt it's because of a shortage of games, because they're not going to be shipped across the Atlantic Ocean anyway but pressed and printed in Europe.
"Also, I really wish more companies would do 'electronic delivery' similiar to Steam and lower the prices around $20 for this method. I'd gladly pay $29.99 for nothing but a key. I don't like/need the packaging anyway."
Yes and yes. Not only is the price a bit better and I don't need the packaging, but the territory I live in wont be getting this game until end of Sept./Early Oct. If we had to download the rather large demo, the full version isn't a biggie.
from past experience with ebgames chances are they will NOT have it tomorrow. although Best Buy has them already and will be on sale tomorrow morning, oh the joys of working there.. already have mine laid aside in the warehouse![]()
Which is true, so that's not the issue.. Imho it should be little trouble to coordinate a global launch at the same time.. Wait until all territories are ready to release.. The gamesindustry is a global business, so they should think globally..Originally Posted by Druidika
But anyway, at least we Europeans can read all the reviews etc before we (can) buy and play it.. I just hope they don't shut down the MP demo so we won't have anything to play for 2 weeks..
If EB doesn't have it, I'll be off to Best Buy or Future Shop.
Either way some store better have it by tomorrow.:Pirate:
Aw man, I preordered through GoGamer (to get the free DoW: Gold Ed) and their website says it isn't shipping until 9/25, what's up with that?
I called a few EB stores around my city (toronto) and they said they would have it by tomorrow. Usually they are reliable.
one more day...
My local Future Shop has a flyer saying this Wednesday. I've also seen a release date of this Thursday. Either way, I'll most likely get it on Friday, which is payday for me.
The other possibilities for later release could be alot of the non-english support stuff. For north america, the manuals, text, etc only need to be done in english. In Europe, you are looking at quiet a few differnt language versions.
Well Future Shop gets their stock on Wednesdays and Fridays. I went to EB @ Yorkdale and they said they should be getting it stock tomorrow so they better have it tomorrow.
Tomorrow would be nice, but it won't matter for me. The earliest for me is payday this Friday. Ah well, adding those extra skirmish maps to the demo will tide me over until then.
EB in Kitchener told me tomorrow as well! :guitar:
EB in Winnipeg told me tommorow also!! 1 more day!:yippee:
Cant wait!!!!:cranky:
