I don't care if there is a long wait as long as the results are good. I would rather have a good chapter every month or year then a half done chapter every week. Take your time.

DC, I agree with Random person, we can wait, as long as you keep up this awsome work

Thankyou for stabbing ilania, she annoys me
Thank you for making Qwaar so frickin evil.
Thank you for ruining my life as I think about what is going to happen at the "demonstration".

    another great job DC.

^Seconded. I suspect that Noreena will allow (even encourage) Qwaar to do something bad to her mother. I was laughing and in pain when Illie went and touched Nika.

And I am looking forward to this demonstration. If Kai can do that with a tape measure...

Having your head blow up is such a pain (plus that cotton wool is the "brains" of my head) anyway Very good chapter i have wanted nika to go attack someone and actually wound them WooooHooooo *bang* (while head flies across room) not again

Well, consider me up to date with Legacies, and might I say it just gets better and better.

And damn straight Iliana had that coming. Poor Tessar.

I wonder what holds in store for later?

    Keep it up, Deep!

    Cheek-pinching cuteness... classic!

However, Qwaar Jet's mischief is starting to give me some... doubts as to the working relationship between the God of War and its present Khar. I wonder what this implies for the future battles with Ashoran...
I have no strong feelings one way or the other.

I'd imagine that it has a mischievous nature while there isn't much oging on but kinda switches form that to "hardass seriousness" mode in battle situations.

    Just my thoughts.

    The eternal God of War
has a right to be smug
    even in battle
    he knows he'll never lose

  17. Child's Play Donor  #367
Of course he may decide that Ash is a better qwaar fro some stupid reason and abandon the real Khar.

Then again the Noreena Bitchslappin' khar is kinda hard to beat, tehy have a compatable personality As cuddly as sandpaper.

    Thanks ChaosSabre.

And yeah, Sharzin just rolls elegantly off the tongue, and yet sounds...nasty enough. SHAR-zin.

I came up with it out of the blue becuase I wanted to come up with a native Kadeshi word for Unclean, and somehow this stuck.

  22. The Studio Senior Member Dawn of War Senior Member  #372
    oh, that word definately stuck

Sharzin does sound cool. I personally cant wait to see how Kai responds to Qwaar`s little "twisted sense of humor".

That is true. He's not like his sister. I would think Cleanser training would've taken some of those matching tendencies out of him?

    Just something to consider.

  29. The Studio Senior Member Dawn of War Senior Member  #379
a cleanser must be completely serene
and should have all emotions under control
    they're not wild fanatics
proof of this is that Noreena
has a lot of trouble mentally detecting Kai

I agree with hiroshi. Kai's training appears to have included mental discipline. Plus, with the reverence that the Kadeshi show QJ, he is unlikely to go nuts over something that the God of War did.

  31. #381
    I agree

  32. Child's Play Donor  #382
I'm just saying that cleanser training probably would have not prepared him for dealing with hundreds of eyes watching him in an unclean condition. He doesn't deal with eyes catching him, he just slices and dices.

Nika would probably cause a bigger scene though.....
    one little
    2 little

maybe throw some Vaygr in the mix? I'm sure they would not want to be left out of the action ;-)

Not only has Talia been away but also Jerel/Tural, Mak's son. Haven't seen a word of him since Legacies II. Still recovering or elsewhere maybe? Oh and just idle speculation and maybe this has already been talked about but I seem to recall that in Homeworld the Hiigarans believe in 3 Gods/superships. If I'm wrong let me know but this is just idle speculation. There's Sajuuk and Qwaar-Jet, which we've both found and have Khars for. That leaves 1 left, Makaan to become the Khar for perhaps? Just a thought.

Oh yeah, now I remember. Koshiir-Ra. Not sure exactly what particular function He has, Sajuuk being the Hand who Shapes What Is, Qwaar-Jet being the God of Pain and Enslavement, but from what I gathered from Noreena's prayers, something along the line of Guardian/protector?

Way behind the Pine Curtain. That's Eastern Texas, US for those who don't live there.
And I just realized there is not a single canon (or fringe canon) homeworld race missing from the mix. Let's see, we've got Kushan/Higgaran, Somtaaw, Bentusi, Kadeshi,
Progenitor, Beast, T-Mat, Taidaan empire. Oh, wait, there is one missing. The Republican Taidaan. Where do they come in?
And it looks like Talia's out for nervous breakdown. Okay, that's a bit harsh, but all the paintings gone and all the carnage at the same time? She doesn't sound to me like the kind of person who could take that easily, even with Kai's arm to hang off of. And it sounds like she questioned Qwaar's competence. She's in for a serious prank now.

  41. #391
Nope. Frerrn are missing. And they are more canon than T-Mat. (Frerrn getting an official Manual mention, while T-Mat get none)

Guys, Jerel was mentioned fairly early in III serving onboard the Qwaar-Jet under Noreena and Revkiir.

The big Starfish of D00M were in Ashoran's arsenal at Mortann in Legacies II, serving much the same role as Makaan's T-MAT. However, those are simply the ships. At this date, I've no intention of getting into the T-MAT's origins or anything along those lines.

Maybe the Frerrn will show. Perhaps even the Nalthorans. I simply do not know at this point, and I have to concentrate on what really will carry the story forwards from both the characters' standpoints as well as the Alliance's.

Again, it's all quite up in the air right now as I'm more intent on building Part III here than the Massive Showdown of GLORY in IV. (Yes there is a Part IV coming...go ahead and speculate, but let's NOT derail this thread here.)

Let's not get too carried away here, okay?

    Thank you.

Anticipation, most definitely. I think it's just good to get some general thoughts out there since I have hardly ever posted. IV? Sounds good, but you're right, III is first.

Whoah. Just read all 3 Legacies, after avoiding Fanfic for so long on the premise that it was all desperate fanboi crap. So many bad Star Wars etc books... But this is pure awesome, Chrome. I have no idea how you've managed to fit the Kadeshis, Hiigarans, Vaygr, Bentusi, T-MAT (Also, why the name T-MAT? It was only a HW1 coincept, and at the end of HW2 the Planetkillers were said to be based off 'Tusi design..), Progenitors, the Beast and Taiidan into one story and keep it awesome and plausible. One thing has annoyed me, though. Somewhere along the lines it said the Super Acolytes are just referred to as Acolytes now, yet the Acolytes are described as have missiles and railguns. Just a minor query, though.
Well, great work, look forward to the next update and keep writing! I know that you keep saying that this will be the last Legacies, but how about another dealing with a race that dwells in Hyperspace and spawned the Beast? Coul be food for thought, as they had to come from somewhere and Hyperspace isn't exactly an evolutionary paradise...

You missed something Jianaran. I just said there'd be a Part Four in my last post to here. There's no way in hell I'd be able to fit a proper ending to this saga on this one.

As for Acolytes, I think what happened was the Super Acos basically became the Acos, and any further improvements upon the design got them the Guardian bombers and so on. I'll see what I can do to clear that up sometime in the future. Thanks for pointing that out.

And thank you for your compliments--coming from someone who dislikes crappy fanfic, it means more.

Part 3 & 4 predictions as well as random thoughts if that's the trend at the moment. I personally think there's a distinct possibility that there's a 3rd Godship, the Koshiir-Ra out there and that Makkan will be the Khar for it...Koshiir-Ra being the final God in Hiigaran religion that there were a few isolated mentions of in Parts 1 and 2.
One thing that kinda hit me also today was one way Makkan might have escaped from Balcora successfully. First, there are only 2 ways in and out of Balcora. One being a Trinity Far-Jumper system, the other being Balcora Gate itself. Since he would have had no access to a Trinity system the only remaining option to get out of there in a reasonable time period (since it's a 500 light-year span that you can't Hyper or Jump around in) was that he used Balcora Gate. The only way to activate it is with a Progenitor Dreadnaught in which only 2 exist. One was destroyed that he had control of in the Battle of Balcora in the HW2 Campaign, the other the Hiigarans had. My theory would have been that once the Hiigarans left Balcora indefinitely to bring Sajuuk home to lift the Siege of Hiigara, he would've been completely uninterrupted to either salvage his destroyed Dreadnaught or at least the parts of it that activate the gate or somehow backengineer the activation mechanism and he would've had a full derelict vessel with some Progenitor production capabilities to do it with, namely the Mover facility on the abandoned Pride of Hiigara, as well as all of the other Pride's systems too. So I dunno, sound reasonable to ya'll, and perhaps the Pride might make an Encore in later Parts 3 and/or 4?

Okay, yes, I have already alluded to the notion in the Legacies Art Spam thread that Koshiir-Ra WOULD have to make an appearance.

So yes, that God will show.

I won't say any more than to watch for him in Part 4.
