    Small community?

Well I was thinking of getting this game so I went to check out the commnity. Is it me or does its eem as if the company of heroes community is very samll? I mean I am going to get dark crusade in a few weeks when it comes out but I was wondering if this game can hold its own? I mean I am a major first person shooter fan and there are many great fps comeing out in october. Most notably callo f duty 3 (I think), fear extransion point, battlefield 2142, and a few otehrs I think.

Well I can only get two (I am willing to only get 2 actually because I know dark crusade willbe a blast), including dark crusade. Thus I am looking for a game that is giong ot last me a long time even with dark crusade.

To the point: currently, it seems to me that the coh community is very small, is this true or do my eyes decieve me?

The rest of the world has yet to get their copy of CoH that is why. Only NA currently has distribution of CoH.

Ohh Praxis that explains alot, originally though game was released world wid elike Dark Crusade will be...

Oh and Echoman lol knew it was rts, I mean I played the demo lol. though would not be surprised if someoen did mistake this for fps, i mean the damn kind of implies wwII shooter. Lol not accusing u of saying I didnt know though.

Hmm makes me really thing about coh community now that i know not eveyron in every country has access to game. Hmm doesn anyone know when it will be able to get it in other countries and the community will reach close to maximum? just want rough estimate, not exact figures...

Back in the beta days, I was trying to play a 2v2, and my ally first asked me "how to shoot??" and "is dis game liek bf2" -_-

After explaining to him that it was a real time strategy (and what a real time strategy game was, for that matter) he proceeded to go "oh im leaving then" and d/ced...

I was not accusing you of not knowing. I figured you did. It was the two games thing and how you said there where a lot of FPS coming out soon that threw me off. sry.

As far as the community, I think its great. online has had a max of 1006 so far at one time and that is with out the european countrys. The release date for them is slated for the 29th of this month. You can find an average of about 450-600 people on during the day.

Also with the mod tools and mapping tools being release to us for download in the month or two. this game is only going to get bigger and better. I'm not sure what your expectations are as far as maximum players is though.

It's always easy to get a 1v1 ranked game going except for those vampire hours. After the 29th though even those times should have an ample amount of people online.

Just about everyone I've recommended this game (and its demos too) has fallen for it, whether or not they're into PC games at all. I've even dragged some buds who've fallen off the PC games bandwagon in favor of XBox360 back to the PC world kicking and screaming, because they want to play it so much.

Being as this is a "from scratch" franchise that's having to overcome World War II gaming burnout, it seems to be doing quite well so far.

Forums are fairly busy over at Able Company (http://www.ablecompany.net/coh/forums.html) and Planet Company of Heroes (http://www.planetcompanyofheroes.com/). Whether the community growth will match the ravenous growth of FPSs like MOHAA (where entire fan sites had to shut down cause they couldn't afford the bandwidth) remains to be seen, but I'm rooting for it. Mostly I like it here and over at Able Company.

Aaaand of course I'm looking forward to our UK brethren getting to jump into the pool Sept. 29. :sniper:I've seen a lot of excellent UK fan sites, and hopefully some will crop up after release. No doubt they'll complain about lack of a Brits campaign and my hopes are that'll be in Expansion #1. :report:

The wait until next week, 29th, for it in australia is painful. I cry myself to sleep nightly in my camo pjama's.

This is the problem with the TERRIBLE commercial running atm. It makes the game look like another cookie cutter MoH/CoD style ww2 FPS. It shows and says nothing about it being a rts and all of the fews are from the ground level.

Getting a 96% in pcgamer draws A LOT of attention from casual gamers, and the connection problems on relic online will probably be the biggest limiting factor on community growth.

I think this is a superior game to Dawn of War.

I think CoH will have a larger community relative to Dawn of War, and Relic's stability seems superior in CoH to Dawn of War.
