1. Not a Relic game.
2. Not a forum issue.

moved to the workshop, just to see if anyone has any ideas.

I had the problem you described, where anytime I loaded specific games (in my case it was Doom 3) the computer would just restart. It turned out to be a faulty DIMM slot, although apparently bad RAM can cause it too.

You need to list your system specifications so we can see what we're working with. If you don't know them and you have PC made by a major manufacturer (Dell, HP, Gateway, etc.), what is the brand and model number and list what you do know.
Pc Restart normaly need someone that can read minidump...
Or els...
Try to check your ram
Try to check your temperature
Have you tried to update your motherboard??

did you make sure the video cards power cable is all the way in?
This has happened to me before. In rhe past, Moe has alerted me that my X600 XT was overheating. The entire heatsink was covered in dust particles. You couldn't see a single bit of copper.
Anyway, to the point. It's either faulty RAM, because NFS and Halo are still relatively new (a few years) so, they'll take up some RAM. Also check that your CPU heatsink is firmly attached otherwise it might overheat, and hence blow up.
As for the video card, read my example. Check if there is any dust or obstruction to the airflow of your card. This may cause overheating.
Post a dxdiag and specs please, so we can help you further.
(going a bit off-topic): When you play the games, turn the settings down a bit.
pooks.

It might as well be dying PSU. Gives just enough power for the PC to start up and boot properly, but when the power drain increases it shuts down.

It could be a dying PSU. Try doing a loadtest on the 12V thingys and see how much power you're getting.
