    Rotating Buildings

I'm sure this has been asked, but can't find anything on it...but is it possible to rotate buildings in DoW?

It is completely possible for them to have the option, but it isn't really that important. If units came out of a certain part of a building it would be important, but in the instance of DoW, it really isn't seeing as units pop out of whichever side is closest to the rally point.

Ok, thanks. Thought I heard somewhere that it was possible, just wanted to make sure.

It is possible in the editor, rather bizarrely.
Always code as if the person who ends up maintaining your code is a violent psychopath who knows where you live.

Well... I think you should be able to rotate turrets... since if they're pointed backwards, it takes time for them to rotate and shoot incoming enemies.

Perhaps if they remain fixed in the position from which they fired last.

I never really understood why they ddin't allow it, even Command and Conquer generals had this feature, which made base building immensely more entertaining.

It can still be an issue because of the shape of the buildings.

It would be good to be able to rotate buildings, especially turrets, since it looks incredibly stupid haveing turets pointing towards your own base, and the turrets do take a few seconds to turn around, losing precious shots.

I just wish I could, since I like to group my buildings together, so having the ability to rotate would mean I could squeeze them into the right spot. Bad strategy, esspecially against IG (earthshakers), but it's what I do :P

Well, see, it was important in Generals because, as I said, vehicles come out of certain points (doors) in buildings in that game. DoW units just pop out whichever side is closest to the rally point.

As previously said it's probably not that important for majority of races in DoW, but for turrets and some races HQ buildings (SM Eldar) Also it's nice to have the choice of which direction the building is facing

By the manner of their death we shall know them

It would just be nice to see them rotate to get a good position.

    and completely offtopic.

If you wish to suggest the addition of rotation for buildings feel free to add it to the suggestion box. However units will popout whatever side is free and in the direction of the rally point.
