    Vaygr Cruiser = Vaygr Carrier?

Otherwise known as Cap-A and Cap-H. I was looking at the screenshots on Arioch's site, and noticed the similarity. I base this observation off three things:

    1. that the Carrier is missing from the pre-E3 Gamespot video, where we see a bunch of Vagyr craft lined up.

    2. the silhouette for both ships are strikingly similar.

    3. one is seen showering the Hiigaran fleet with torps, while the other has the "pool" construction bay, but what if these were just different subsystems? Relic has said that we'll have to pick and choose what subsystems go into which ships, at least the non-MS ships anyway.

if this is true, it would make the Vagyr ships very flexible in terms of combat capability. kind of the multi-role design we saw in HWC, but not so much, as it can only be a "carrier" or a "cruiser", but not both at the same time.

Just by looking at the pictures, it is diffecult to tell if the two ships are one in the same or not. I won't make any calls on that until a better picture of Capital H is revealed.

In the event they are the same ship, what you say would be quite interesting. Instead of a hangar, you convert that space into a missile subsystem, or a production facility. Perhaps that class of ship is the starting point for a variety of cruiser/carrier combos.

I won't dismiss what you're saying but I also have faith in Arioch's ability to distinguish two different ships. Time will tell...

How do we know that the one shooting missiles doesn't have a construction bay on top?

I think there's more different between the two than could be accounted for by just different subsystems.

The two have the same basic shape, and are about the same size, but the details are quite different between the two. The two are side-by side in that first GameSpot video. In this image you can see the carrier just to the right of the cruiser (cruiser indicated by arrow):

The cruiser has somewhat lumpy features, and some distinctive lateral dark features along the length of the hull.

The carrier is more angular, has more distinctive vertical striping, and lacks the lateral features.

By the way, "carrier" and "cruiser" are arbitrarily-chosen labels, but you get the general idea.

I get the feeling Cap-A's bathtub shaped bay may be a subsystem. Perhaps the shots with no bay are ones where a diff subsystem is installed?
