Kadesh, Taiidan, Turanic Raiders Where are they?

One of the things I loved of Homeworld is that there were these rare races, you can´t just deleted them from the story.
I think that the Kadesh are a very important part of the Kushan (there are family!!!!). If the Kushan are so important in Homeworld 2 then the Kadesh are to.
And what about the ghost ship and the T-mat????
    Or are they all DEATH?

I think the Kadeshi may be dead. They were, after all, fanatics who didn't want to leave their garden. Perhaps some were captured during HW and kept around...

The Taiidan are still around, just not as the taiidan empire we knew from before.

The Turanics are probably still around (unless the Kushan spent part of the 100 years between HW and HW2 to hunt them down and wipe them out). Their cellular structure would allow them to operate independently.

Ghost Ship and T-mat, we'll have to see. I have a feeling overall that there will be many more mysteries that open up in HW2 (heck, what's the story behind each megalith we encounter).

Well, of course I can't speak for Relic, but if I was writing the story for HW2 and had to include the Turanics, Kadesh or Taiidan....

For the Kadesh, I would say that at somepoint after the relocation, an expedition would be sent back to the nebula to see if there were any, only to find an "empty" nebula. Or, instead, the Hiigarans knew they had wiped the Kadeshi out, and used that as a reason to "never forget our origins, and never lose sight of our ultimate fate"

The Turanics... I would say that they tried to team up with the Vaygr for a little and help them destroy the Hiigarans. Maybe the Vaygr would play along for a little bit, but then just wipe the Turanics off the face of the galaxy because they knew they couldn't be trusted, and plus they needed more scrap materials.

The Taiidan... Hmmm, probably the same as the Turanics actually. I just think they'd try to go back to their original home and form some sort of Confederation that is anti-Hiigaran--- and then get wiped off the face of the galaxy by the Vaygr, just to show they mean business. Maybe the writers will use that to build anxiety so you be saying "Shit! If they could do that to the Taiidan and Turanics, then I'm in for one hell of a beating!"

Well here's my take on the matter I may be totally wrong and twisted for thinking about this but eh what the hell I'll try.

Kadesh: Killed off by someone if not the Kushan than some other military force strong enough to take em on.

Turanics: Probobly either in hiding, OR were taken down by the Hiigaran navy or other Council military forces.

Taiidani: Please forgive the following blasphemy but I must state it:

It is said that the Taiidani no longer appear as a "seperate political force" or somesuch this tells me that some time after the beast invasion the Turanic Republic decided to join forces with the Hiigarans What I'm trying to say is maybe that the "Hiigara" no longer simply describes the planet but maybe the entire sector of space sort of like how in star trek the entire Cardassian empire was known as "Cardassia". It is entirely possible that the Taiidani now form part of HIIGARA.

There are several reasons for assuming this is possible:

    1. There are some Taiidani characteristics within the Hiigaran ship design.

    2. The official part about them no longer appearing as a seperate political entity.

    3. It would make sense afterall one THICK stick is harder to break then two thin ones, and as we all saw the republic and Hiigara were not exactly the best military powers on their own, so joining together would form one kickass alliance.

I had others I just can't think of em right now. (dodges :stfu: and :rip: )

Here, how about this? The Turanic Raiders, Kadeshi, etc. do not make an appearance in this storyline/game because the main focus of the game is NOT going back to the Great Nebula, fighting Pirates, or anything like that. Instead, it's to fight the Vagyr. As such, we'll have little contact with those not related to that quest.

Yes, I'd love to find out what happened to the Kadeshi... maybe it'll even be mentioned in the manual... but I doubt we'll see Kadeshi ships in the final game. Though it would be cool if the Kadeshi were coming back... and then fled after the first Vagyr attack, saying "The Evil has Returned!!!"

you are going to kill off a nation spanning 100 star systems just to say you meant business?

The Taiidan Republic, despit being slightly smaller then the taiidan empire, is a major galactic power, Vagyr might be be able to defeat them alone, less Hiigaran and Taiidan. Taiidan, In homeworld, is the only young race with significant power.

(In homeworld, the Empire had superstations size of megalith, that is why you want to avoid certain path ...)

How did you happen to come across this information? If it was from Cata, forget it, cuz I didn't play that thing past Mission 3.

You know, many years have passed between HW and HW2...The Taiidan empire may have fractured and dissipated since then.

As for the stations, we had to avoid them because at the time we had a few frigates and fighters. The Vaygr, probably in control of a huge armada already, could cut through those stations. Static defences aren't that great -- Maginot or Siegfried line bring up any memories? Plus, they wield the power of the ancients!!! The ancients damn it!!!

    Whatever. Speculation sucks.

what I supeculate, is that Vagyr might have lost most of their fleet to Taiidan navy in a running firefight. but Haigran has difficulty fighting what's left of Vagyr after they beat Taiidan into a massive retreat.

    MMMMmmh... very good thinking
    This is what i think

Taiidan: The imperialist are united with the Raiders to survive. The Taiidan Republic united with the Kushan.

Raiders: United with the imperialist to survive.

Kadesh: There are waiting in the nebula. There are exiles like the Kushan, so the Vagyr while "TRY" to kill them to.

    T-MAT and Ghost Ship: ??????????:dolt:

What would be cool is if HW2 sells well enough, an expansion is made (by Relic) that includes some of those races as Multiplayer races, and perhaps some single player missions with them as well.
Even Chaos Space Marines think Kittens are Cute. There are limits to how evil you can be...

Relic has officially said this about our favorite races:

    The Taiidan
    The Turanic Raiders
    The Kadeshi

*T-Mat--DOES NOT EXIST OFFICIALLY IN HW UNIVERSE

All of the above will be restriced to a more limited role or none at all. That means that they will have little importance or at least little long range significance in the campaign. Perhaps we may catch a cameo appearance every so often, similar to the way Cata uses Higaaran ships.

If Relic does decide to axe them, they should explain what happened to them and what's happening now to them.

But I wish they would explain and mystery of the ghost ship...

Relic, I hope you're reading this...

To many loyal Taiidan to completely eradicate them. I think the Taiidan will play the pivotal role in the SP game. Remember it was the Taiidani who saved the Hiigarians butz in the final battle.

The Glory of the Taiidan will not been extingusihed from the galaxy!

I think that the HW2 story is meant to be on a grander scale than dealing with the races you met in HW (other than the Bentusi).

If remnants of those races still exist, they will be nowhere near powerful enough influence the Vaygr or the power behind them.

That being said, I hope we are at least brought up to speed on what's been happening for the last 100 years..

Well, i think they have to show up in the game and (or) tells us what happened to them and some evolutions they have in the 100 years (many things can happen)

It could also be that the Vagyr have been attacking the Taiidani for several years before Homeworld 2. The Taiidani have been losing world after world. Between the loss against the Hiigarans 100 years ago, the losses from the Beast, and their own on-going civil war, the Taiidani fracture and each world declares independance, hoping to make peace with the Vagyr barbarians on their own... but failing. Those who remain ally themselves with the Hiigarans, the only other local bastion of power in the sector.

Thus the Hiigaran Empire is a hodgepodge of what worlds the Hiigarans have claimed for themselves in the past 100 years and a few dozen Taiidani worlds that have joined with the Hiigarans hoping that they might be able to prevail against the Vagyr. And they've been losing so far... thus forcing the Hiigarans to bring back the great symbol that prevailed against their last Great Enemy.

    The Mothership.
