Volks after a pitched battle: " If you aren't dead, you haven't been fighting hard enough!"
To change one's life: Start immediately. Do it flamboyantly. No exceptions.
-William James
If Russians or Brits are added, what would they say?
Russians:
"Better red than dead"
"This is the Motherland's time of the month...to kick Fascist ass!"
"Lock up your daughters - THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING!"
"Die a hero or a traitor - the choice is yours, comrade"
"Oh shit, Boris, you scared me. I thought you were my sister"
"When this war is over we can all go back to the potato farm...and farm (excitement fades)...potatoes ."
"'Who won the Russian beauty contest...nobody'. HA HA. No, I never heard that one (deadpan sarcasm)"
"Look, Sasha, supplies! (sarcasm)"
"Gregore, stop drinking that! We need it to get home" (Jeep unit)
"From Russia with HATE, you bastards" - Rusians
New German:
"The Russians are coming, and they look pissed" - Axis
"Veh ah joo hydink!" - Axis (Gestapo SS or sniper)
"Ugh, that brautwurst iz not zitting right"
I imagine the Brits comedic style would be a no-brainer. Lots of trademark Black Adder/John Cleese style British sarcasm that everyone loves:
"On his Majesty's fucking request"
"Shaken, but not stired" when near explosion
"Listen you bloody twit - I said Jerry cannot have it!"
"For King and Cuuunn-tree" (perhaps have a second voice overlap with the "tree")
"Jolly good ol' boy"
"Sporting (sudden shift of attention on the 'ng' sound) - would you look at that!" (ie it sounds like he is saying sportin wood. Wacky wacky
"Those fags will be the death of you" "(cough, cough)" (ps fags are cigarettes)
"Do I detect a spot of sarcasm?" (with heavy sarcasm)
"I don't give a tinkers cuss what you...oh alright then."
"You fuckers! You made me spill my bleeding tea"

If you continute to click on a quad it will start saying...
"Don't make me run your ass over"
and
"You're pretty much drunk aren't you"
Greyhound...
"First day new mouse?"
Evilmind, nice suggestions. Especially the russian stuff. GJ.
Thanks dude. Hopefully, others have some things to throw in and we can get the sticky wall in use. There is another thread - on this topic - over at PlanetCoh in the general section. Check it out.
During a scroll over the map in a 3v3, I heard my Stormtroops say, after some heavy firefights:
"Survival is treason in this army!"![]()

Brit quotes would be a gold mine.
"Run away! Run away!"
"Don't mention the war!"
I'm pretty sure I heard the Germans say something about cowboys once, that had me laughing, I can't for th elife of me remeber it though
You just made me fall out of my chair. Nice going."Gregore, stop drinking that! We need it to get home" (Jeep unit)

Riflemen without nades saying: YOU GOT A FUCKING GRENADE?![]()
I've had this game since release and I haven't heard tons of these!
Wow, I'm going to do a Skirmish and turn SFX real low and just listen.
Anyways, some of my favorites have to be:
"Only ze best in German engineering" StuG
"Fire! FUCK, FIRE!" Riflemen
"ZE COWBOYS ARE SHOOTING AT US!" German Infantry
I want to thank Relic for the just plain amazing voices in this game. The stereotypical Germans are just the best thing since sliced bread and the Americans have that badassness to them. I would love to see what you guys could do with British/Russians/Italians in an expansion. Imagine those stereotypes haha.

Indeed and Canadians, being from Canada I might be biased but I'd kill myself laughing at stereotypical Canadian sayings.
"They came to our school... we all volunteered!"
"It's a blitz!"
"They are destroying our new paintjob!"
Best voice acting EVER!
Hoping CoH2 Ships With Worldbuilder....
Canadian here as well, I would probably laugh too but I don't think they'd ever add Canadians, we were pretty much a mix of American and British equipment and fought with the Brits most of the time.Originally Posted by OmegaRed

Volks Grenadier- Dont worry ill make it into the SS youll see
Axis Mg- They only want to fight when they outnumber you.
Wikid. Thanks man. I thought a couple of em were funny but not everybody shares my humor (I worship Carlin and Bill Hicks). My fav is "Better red than dead"...because it's a little ironic, I guess (ie Commie hating American Rednecks are associated with that phrase). i also like the line "Lock up your daughters..." because it is a very grim thing to make a joke about. Sure everyone knows what happened when the Russians came.
i love how each faction in CoH has it's own comedic flavor. Americans are brash, gung-ho and full of homo-erotic undertones. Germans are...well, all things cliche Kraut. I was thinking that the Russians should be a bunch of crazy drunken hicks who are a little punch drunk. In truth, they were much more somber - I'm certain - but that doesn't leave much for comedic indulgence.
I'll try to think of some more. It was freakin fun.
BTW the line, i think, is...."the cowboys are zhooting at us!". I also love the line that goes something like, "Ok, you get to be za nurse tonight". That is comedy
Can't remember exactly but something like this, "We have our target, now the only question that remains is whether we should shoot them or crush them beneath our treads."

LOL. The army does that to people's sense of humor..
Tough love man.. Tough love
Engineers: [sarcasm=10] Join the army they said.. It'll be FUN they said..[/sarcasm]
Now you have me confused. Have you been listening to different Allied dialogue on your copy...? You being sarcastic to me? Am I missing something? Guy, there are tones of lines in the Allies banter that is deliberaty suggestive. The first tip off to them is they seem completely harmless and common...but you damn well know where the writers/actor are going with it. I'd almost go so far as to say that this was Canadian Relic's way of slipping in a few digs at the yanks. All in good fun.Originally Posted by Sporky

you are wrong. Official red Army policy was to get soldiers drunk regularly as to avoid them realizing that they only served as expandable cannon fodder...Originally Posted by EViLMinD
But even then, the Russians dont need any encouragement when it comes to drinking.
small example: in Stalingrad, before the russian offensive, there was a wodka shortage. Russian conscripts emptied the radiators of all vehicles because there was 2% alcohol in the anti-freeze liquid...
this actually caused quite some casualties and Red Army officials had to conduct a special information campaign on the dangers of drinking anti-freeze...
the "hide your daughters" thing does apply to the Red Army.
Yes - I heard that for the first time last night and actually laughed out loud.Originally Posted by Hodgeh MkII

You are confusing Me. Where in heavens name do you hear homo errotic suggestive speech in CoH? Give me some good examples cause i'm not hearing them.Originally Posted by EViLMinD

That's interesting, I had no idea. Most russian people I've known seem so straightfaced. hmmm...i guess that changes when they are sh!tfaced. lol. I guess my line about Gregore is all the more fitting now.

"You are confusing Me. Where in heavens name do you hear homo errotic suggestive speech in CoH? Give me some good examples cause i'm not hearing them."
Well, I am at work and I cannot remember a line to demonstrate my point....sorry...but I'll find one later. It's all in the subtle inflexion of the voice actor, but it's there.
"Just for my information, are you gay?"
Why? You interested? Guy, I think your gaydar is broken and I'm clueless why you would make such an assumption. Why would you need to know what a persons sexual orientation is? What does it have to do with anything? I don't care if you are gay. It just means more women for me.
Me, I stick to the female of the species and I have slept with fifty-four of them in my illustrious career as a male slut. A couple times I was even able to have more than one at once...but that was before my girlfriend of the last six years. Sorry guy. Now, I do have several gay friends who might be single (if that matters to a gay man). Do you want their phone numbers? I don't mind.
I Asked because gay people tend to try and find homo errotic undertones in everything. No need to give me a detailed report of your sex life. I am honestly not interested.
And I guess this is just a case of hear what you want to hear. There are no 'subtle gung ho homo erotic undertones' in CoH. But if you really want to hear them, sure go ahead.
That's cool. I will try to offer you examples of what I was talking about because I should back my claim. I'll drop in with some quotes and stuff. Cheers
UPDATE: Sporky
I listened to the voices, most of the allied in armour doc, and i heard no voice overs to support my statement. My best guess is that I defended my claim while I was high, at work, full of my devil may care disability...and crossing my memory with too much of a The Rock movie marothon (cuz that dudes acting is totally ghey) that...well...I was most probably 90%-95% incorrect with the whole gay inuendo thing. I'd like to say I'm baffled that I cannot remember what I heared correctly (as I've always had a precise ear for such things) or that I simply couldn't help being a bastard.
What it is worth, my bad and no hard feelings. Let's leave it at that.
UPDATE No 2 (Jan 24th):
For the record, I just played a game using the Allied Airborne and now I know where the "gayness" came from. My assumption is that Josh Mosqueira, the designer, decided to poke fun at the fly boys because he is an infantry man.
"On my ass an' stay there"
GJ Josh. Fuking hilarious

I've been toying around with the Officer a lot in my mod, so I've encountered this quote a fair number of times during my testing:
"This is a serious matter! FUCK YOU!"
This quote isn't played in game, but it exists in the data files, so a modder could get it to work. Anyways, guess what unit has this quote:
"One time, in Leipzig, I saw these funny little puppets."
"Shoot at it with the rifles at least we can distract it!"- Allied Paratroopers attacking a Panzer IV. At least that's close to what they said.
Enemy HQ is down in flames , this thing is just about over .
'M26 Pershing'
TAKE THAT TIGER OUT !!!
Rangers targeting a Tiger unit .
That tin can , gotta go :
Rangers targeting Armor
I thought he says that if you select him while he is under fire. At least I have heard it many times in-game. And I think he says "War is a serious matter". Great line anyway.Originally Posted by Sturmhaubitze

My personal favorite is from the axis pak 38 anti-tank gun. When you use their ability to camoflague themselves they once replied:
"Of course, I will hide this... gigantic gun!" and it was said in just such a way, you could tell the guy thought you must be smoking crack to give him an order like that.
I've only heard it once, but it was perfect. I laughed and laughed - others in the studio looked at me like I was smoking crack!![]()
Anyone have a script or translation of the sound bite that plays when you activate the Terror doctrines Zeal and/or Inspired Assault abilities?
I love the forceful Germanic speech coming out through a loud speaker as its hurled at the enemy.. soooo awesome!
Agree, one of the best lines.Originally Posted by vakola

Incidently I tend to notice different quotes in the playbacks then in the games....does anyone else notice this or am I just continuing my spiral into madness?
I have noticed some things, like the commander tree abilities, have different things that the people say, and in playback it doesn't always do the one you heard during the game...
