    The moviemaker is part of the World Builder.

    The servers are still down and we are investigating the problems with the upgrade. I'll keep you informed on our progress with solving the current issues.

    Well I dl'd the patch from Moe's site (real fast - thanks Moe) but I can't login.

    So I ran the performance test to waste some time - I can confirm increased performance for the 7900GTX. Quite a nice speed bump while running 4X AA, 8X AF at 1280v1024, max settings.

    I'm afraid I've got a little bit of nit picking to do about the cinematic feature in the replays, most of the time it focuses on a single unit (being a single tank or a single squad), but very rarely on the action happening. Slightly disappointed, but a very nice feature.

    Replays are still in :
    /my documents/my games/coh/playback but no way to watch them.

    Replays from previous versions may be incompatible with the current version, I'm not entirely sure though.

    Pre-1.3 replays will not work, as the game mechanics have changed and thus the replays will not function correctly.

    You can no longer see old replays, not a bug.

    Since the game has drastically been changed balance wise and such.

    funny i can think of 3 other games that had disasterious 1.3 patches... Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2, Warcraft 3.. all had major breaks in the game as well.. something with 1.3's

    1 hour ago i was able to play a game on seine river docks, since then i lost connection to relic online and can't log in. are the servers still being updated?

    Relic hates germany .... can`t download the patch via autopatch (no connection to relic online possible) and no mirriors for the german version (not like I had a choice of which version I could buy in germany .D)....

    1.3 just sucked for CS.

    1.3 for day of defeat was also busted, i remember the kar had major problems and the BAR accuracy was way off.. but 1.3b was the best version they've released of DoD ^_^

    Not to downgrade Relic's team or anyone else, but what's happening to the quality assure tests??? I mean if they run those test don't you think those tank trap bugs should be gone before the patch was even released???

    Because Relic told us they wouldn't fix the problem with a hotfix, but rather fix it with the 1.4 patch...

    so what are we waiting for now???

    Simple, because the patch has been in QA for a millenia. Shit happens, but ... the talk was about how exhaustive the QA process was, and that was the cause for the delay... and then this pops in...

    I don't think I am alone in hoping for a patch, that has been in QA forever, coming out bug free. That's not too much to ask.

    Go make some maps, try out the new map, play a match against the AI.. and when RO gets back online go play like you usually do except just don't build tank traps, it's not like this will get you losing your game lol.

    Uh, I'll agree with you to a point. However, considering armor is the most potent unit(s) in the game... tank traps are very useful and are there obviously to stop armor.

    So while it's not necessarily a game breaker.... It's definately slanted to the Allies.

    On half of the maps it's not possible to seal off entire areas with tank traps anyway.

    not sure if this is a bug or if this was an intended change in 1.3 but i was playing allies and my flame engineer group dropped down to one guy so i retreated. when he got back to base i noticed that he didnt have a flamethrower anymore. i reinforced two more engineers and still no flamethrower. the option to even buy a flamethrower was not there anymore either. just a blank engineer group (except for mine detector). i have the replay if you want it relic.

    Is there a way to turn off the fog of war in recordings now? All I can find is a toggle that allows me to switch from one player to another. Because of this, I can't see the cap order of both players at the same time - am I missing something?

    Also, still no resource rates for either player.

    Higure, I'm pretty sure the same thing happened to my Volks squad's mp40s just now. Will have to test it again, though.

    Considering that any software product more complicated than "Hello world" is virtually guaranteed to have bugs in it, I'd say it is too much to ask.

    Buggo and Tranj look to be kicking themselves, and they're already working on a fix.

    Really i get the resourses as i can switch to the certain player but as u say that & the Fow prevents following the whole game . yikes wonder if the ole autoexec file can be modded some functions work from it need to find the the fow cmd .

    You're shifting the goal posts, Crackbone. I do think this was a big miss and it's a pity it wasn't caught, but as a coder I know how these things happened. I, for example, accidentally gave all Child's Play donors access to the secret moderator forums for about five minutes until a helpful soul told me about it.

    Shit happens. I'm sure they're upset enough about it without having people being nasty to them.

    Not trying to be nasty... my only hope is we won't be waiting an eon for this to be fixed. I know it has been stated that we won't, but... I guess I'll believe it when I see it.

    Simple, because the patch has been in QA for a millenia. Shit happens, but ... the talk was about how exhaustive the QA process was, and that was the cause for the delay... and then this pops in...

    I don't think I am alone in hoping for a patch, that has been in QA forever, coming out bug free. That's not too much to ask.
    Having actually looked at the .ini files for a game (A game far simpler than CoH), and knowing that a SINGLE letter or space or something out of line can cause issues like this, I'm going to tell you that you're fucking crazy if you think QA can solve ALL bugs.

    Devs don't sit in front of a giant computer for weeks that knows what they want. They can't just say "COMPUTER: Raise Sherman Calliope reloadtime by 50%". They have to go into the game files and change it. Do you have any idea how easily you can screw stuff up when messing with game files?

    I don't care. That's what I pay my money for, for their expertise in creating and maintaining software. I like Relic products... that's why I buy them... but for the love of god, I would say many here, including myself KNOW that their needs to be a change within the THQ/Relic relationship and process where PATCHES are released in a timely manner and that the QA process is actually a QUALITY ASSURANCE process.

    It failed here... and while I am not indicting them on it... they need to get together for a meeting and figure the process flow out.... because it's obvious through DoW and now CoH, it takes too long for the patches to arrive.. when they do arrive the QA processes that were supposedly holding them up fail as well.

    I am not saying... OOOHHH Relic blows, etc.. I am saying lets urge THQ and Relic to find out what the problems are... and furthermore lets push it for a change @ the developer and corporate level.

    Hey Relic great job, that new map is pretty nice, i did run across one thing though and i think its a bug, and just for the record im not bitchin, just lettin you know. When you kill a AT squad now, if you take over the at gun your squad becomes unusable, i couldnt move them, they wouldnt shoot, and it just looked like they froze up, people should check this to see if its happening for them too, i noticed the problem on the new map.

    I am not saying that bugs don't happen. I am not that obtuse. One of this magnitude however, I don't forgive.

    Is the balance team even using tank traps when they test? Because if they were, this would have been caught before it was released.

    It's not the bug itself... it's the questions it raises beyond that.. what the hell is the balance team doing? QA?

    I have many more questions... and after that interview on ToH... this further makes we wonder about the whole support mechanism in place for the CoH franchise.

    Well what you guys said has a point but the people who are doing this patch are suppose to be the "expert" in what they're doing. It doesn't matter how easy you can easily mess up if you screw around with the game files. My point is they are the EXPERTS and they're suppose to be good at doing all those codes instead of having such "noticable" bugs here and there... Anyway, I'm not worried at this stage, at least the game is still playable so I can say I'm happy with the patch other than the wierd tank traps...

    To be honest, knowing that changing the game code can easily "mess things up" i find it hard to believe that no-one in QA took the 2 minuites it would have taken to test they weren't broken, especially since they were already partially bugged. This really isn't some bug that's hard to replicate :/
