The Senior Librarian you get as a guard unit in the Campaign mode is lost at the end of each battle. I thought at first this was due to him getting killed, but for one map I left him at the base. No fighting with him occured, he was alive at the end of the battle. When the world map loaded up again, however, he was not on the list of honor guards for my commander, and when I go into the reinforce page for him all of his other honor guards except for the librarian are there.

I've noticed this bug as well. At first I thought it was because I had him attached to a squad and the game thought that since he wasn't independent he was dead.. Nope, evidently he's counted as dead after each match.

not only the librarian keeps disappearing, this seems to happen randomly.

i played the campaign as sm, chaos and necrons, and occasionally a single honour guard unit was gone at the end of a won game, although the unit was alive for sure!

(i always kept my HG in my base for defending reasons, and they are simply too expensive for accidently losing them in front combat.)

This is quite a late bump but I noticed it happens when you produce a regular librarian while having the senior one. The system does not seem to differentiate between produced and Honorguard units and you lose the Senior one. It also happens in the capital cities where you receive reinforcements (The Eldar Capital for example). When you receive a Terminator during the Eldar capital, because it is identical to the Honor Guard Terminator, I assume the AI assumes all terminators were reinforcements, therefore temporary units, thus, they are lost when the mission ends. The same things happens with other races as well.

At least thats the impression I got. I did not lose my librarians in the regions inwhich I did not produce another librarian, neither have I lost my Honor Guard units in regions that dont receive reinforcements (The Tau Capital for instance) Just thought it may help.

It's not just the librarian for the Blood Ravens, either--in certain maps where you receive reinforcements that are Honor Guard units (e.g., Tyrea and the Deimos Peninsula) by "rescuing" them, even if none of the gained units or your original honor guard are killed, after you achieve victory sometimes ALL your honor guard are gone and must be retrained.


Also, I know other people have whined about this, but Anteas the Senior Librarian needs to be a tad tougher. I went through a whole battle and spent PR to get him only to discover that a First Company Veteran can take more damage! Humbug.

Just like what AR says. Just another reason why I hate Tyrea. I end up having to re-train almost all Honor Guard units when Im done there.

Also agree on the senior librarian. I sometimes notice that hed die in the first wave of a Captial Attack. Than I noticed he only has 600 HP. Nice youre given a choice: Dont train a normal librarian to avoid him getting erased when the battle ends, only to have him killed by cultists or just train a normal librarian and hope the Senior one lasts long enough. Makes it almost pointless to buy a Senior Librarian.

I am having the same issue with the Librain and the Chaplain,
is there a fix for this or do I have to make a new bug post?

This is really hampering my play, at least now I know why it happens, but it does kind of defeat the purpose of having two librians and two chaplains, if I have to pay 500 requisition each round to use them.
