    [MOD] AlliesAxis vs AlliesAxis Infantry Only

    I designed this for the infantry only trench maps but it could be used anywhere. It is axis and allies on both sides. No historical value but it is fun.

    Includes
    -extended weapon ranges
    -all units located in hq as well as barracks. weapons support for snipers and mg teams.
    -airborne planes make multiple passes.
    -howitzers need spotter to fire if infantry commander.
    -all units have med kits.
    -most squads beefed up to 6 or 8
    -ammo points yield higher and fuel lower.
    -pop cap 200.

    Wasnt going to post this but why not it is a mod after all. Enjoy

    UPDATE 12/12/06 Added more units to all 3 buildings(hq, barracks and weapons support). Added the axis officer with artillery abilities both mortar and rocket limit 1to the weapons support center. Eliminated tracers on individual weapons (cuts down on lag in big battles). Site radius increased on mg nests and units. Raised barracks and weapons support health to make last ditch effort last alittle longer lol. Triage center can be built anywhere now.
    UPDATE 12/16/06 added even more units to the buildings. 3 new buildings added to engineer build list- forward hq, front line barracks and guard tower. Made a few tweaks here and there with site radius and weapons. The tank depot and motor pool are completely gone now.

    QUICK UPDATE changed projectile on the mortar units of axis and allies.
    ANOTHER QUICK UPDATE added artillery officer to the weapons support center will be last update for awhile unless someone has any ideas.

    UPDATE 12/18 ok fixed the icon for the artillery officer thanks to Kyranzor for the help on that I know the symbol is red which is symbol for artillery. I tried to make the capt bars but they wont edit right. This is definetly the last update for awhile

    UPDATE 12/21 one more update. All troops can now be reinforced in the field from the air and that includes everyone except the officers. Also the Artilllery officer symbol is changed to reflect his rank. The reinforce from the air now reinforces from the air both sides axis and allies.
    UPDATE 12/24 added skins to both axis and allies, all infantry and allies buildings. Sandbags are camoed also even the ones you build. Also fixed icon for guard tower and portrait


    UPDATE 1/11
    Added new abilities to the troops in a never ending modding world. Some new abilites include:
    Battery Fire Mission-fires a battery of 105mm howitzers
    Armagedon-fires a division of 105mm howitzers very devastating-artillery officer
    Danger Close Fire Mission-when you need close artillery fast this is it but watch out for friendly fire-rifleman,volks and stormtroopers
    Immediate Smoke Mission-provides smoke cover on the battlefield-rifleman and artillery officer
    Divisional 320mm Rocket Barrage-axis officer
    All new abilities are cheap for the most part and recharge quick so blow the ai away lol.

    UPDATE 2/26
    Fixed problems found with patch 1.5. Made quad 20mm buildable. New Airborne officer who is used to call in all airborne units and drop them anywhere on the map. Resources and pop cap changed. Starting + resources changed. Field howitzer cannot target in fog of war now but has more rounds and fires faster. Sandbags and barbed wire build faster. Most upkeep removed from infantry except buildable field weapons. Sorry did not update the no skins file on bottom of page. Enjoy and have fun its only a game. BLAST AWAY LOL. Also watch out the airborne can drop in fog of war and make for a nasty little surprise.

    Update sounds great! and best of all... Triage Center can be placed anywhere and that means easier Victory Point defense

    you mean on the triage oh ok didnt think of that, and the allies do have an officer if you think about it hes just german lol. Will be adding random bombing runs in the future stay tuned for more updates. I hate to update so much but with feedback and more playing I keep coming up with more ideas

    We get a crash on the new version of the mod, when someone goes infantry command tree and selects howitzer fire.

    Everything else seemed to be ok.

    boobies thats funny didnt change anything to do with the howitzers ,oh wait yes I did you mean off map artillery, I tried to give it to the officer and remembered it would be too much so I didnt but didnt change the file back to normal. I will fix it in next release and there will be random arty on map all over with the help of Communist Bob doing the scar codding for me. With out him it wouldnt be done and it is nice affect on the map. Still working on some tweaks on the mod will release soon.

    Some of the new things coming out in next update.

    Fixed bug for off map arty if anyone went infantry.
    Added 3 new buildings to the engineers build list including forward hq, guard tower and forward barracks.
    Tweeked the units some more.
    Added more units to the buildings, carried over all axis ground units into the buildings.
    Eliminated the armory and tank depot all together.
    Will release soon, probably by Saturday night.

    @Unforsaken I tried the officer for the allies, got the icon to show capt bars and everything just couldnt get the portrait or unit above his head to work and I tried everything. It was just big pink square and I didnt like that. Will continue to work on it though as I do some research on it.

    well, once upon a time i posted a step by step to get all the portraits and symbols working, but i'll have to dig REAL deep for that thread lol... search "icons portraits symbol" in the search bar only in the armoury forum section. you should find it then. you can even limmit it to only find posts by me that include that info

    last update for awhile guys added artillery officer to weapons support center and changed the ucs file to reflect it. Sorry for the two updates today but ideas kept coming and fixed bug with allies mg upgrading to 50 cal. I removed it. That will be in next release awhile from now. Enjoy

    Kyranzor works like a charm, only problem is the rank I erase still shows up alittle just faded to black above their head will work on that.

    This is definetly the last update for awhile. Thanks to Kyranzor and his modding skills I got the icon working for the artillery officer. The symbol is red which denotes artillery, being artillery for 20 years myself I would know, yes it is the private symbol but the capt bars no matter how hard I tried would not show up right. It seems the space reserved for the private symbol just will not go away. I tried everything from erasing all together to layering by cutting to blacking out, the symbol looked stupid so I went with this one. At least you will be able to find him on the battlefield. Enjoy

    dude, just make a transparent background. the icons work as transparencies. just make box around the current image, delete, then put your image. the background SHOULD stay transparent as default. thats what mine do anyways

    Had to do one more update just wasnt happy with that red symbol and why I was at it I made all troops reinforcable in the field from the air. Sorry for the update I know you all hate me for so many updates but dam the ideas just keep coming from the community. The officers are not reinforcable due to only being one of each.

    Kyranzor your driving me nuts, look I fixed the reinforce and made them all airdrop they just dont appear on the field anymore. So everyone can blame you for yet another update lol. Just kidding. New update check first post. You are actually making me a better modder thanks.

    now all you need is new models and to add zombies with hand attacks >_<

    update 12/24 added skins to both armies. The allies have different skins then the axis soldiers. The allies buildings and sandbags have been camoed up. The icon for the guard tower has been fixed it was a big pink window I hate that. There are no big pink windows or symbols for the new buildings or units. Enjoy

    New update all hope you enjoy, added 5 or 6 new abilities mainly artillery which is what I like anyway. See page one first post for update. The smoke barrage is pretty cool it is delayed and will come in just give it time.

    Not a file tweaker here, just an end user. Is the UCS file someplace I can modify it without having Corsix's app? I noticed the note in the readme directing this.

    The zombi skins make me think of Celts or Woad raiders

    guys just go into the coh main directory, open Engine\Locale\english and open the ucs file with notepad, scroll down and add the lines from the notepad I gave you.

    @grandgnu what problems are you having with the mod, it must be user error. Do you know how to install mods? No offense btw

    Since the new release of the APOCALYPSE mod and the buildable items on both sides this mod will be improving as well, keep looking for new update.

    Extract the rar/winzip, then drag and drop the "axisallies" folder from the "infantry" folder into the COH main. Also copy/paste or DD the "module" into the COH main you can copy the pre-made shortcut onto your desktop if your game is installed on your "C" drive (cool bonus STEAL)

    Now I like some things about this mod, like the towers, and the forward barracks.
    Having mixed nations is weird, and the mortar's using the sound file from the nebelwerfers is annoying after about 2 mins. I like the idea of an infantry only game but it's too easy to keep units alive with the AB drop for everything. The crazy resource amounts are a bit much.

    I've only added others maps to my game or used the Corsix mod studio to change the # of men in a unit. I haven't really added much else for modding before.

    With everyones instructions I was able to get this mod working, and I appreciate all the effort that went into it.

    Unfortunately for me, I'm more interested in prolonged infantry engagements, without ridiculous amounts of artillery hammering my defenses.

    I really like that you can build defensive towers, but I found a bunch of the buildings unnamed and so I didn't know what they did until I built them. Also, I found it kinda confusing that I could build units from the other team (i.e. as the Germans I can build US Rangers, etc)

    Perhaps I'll have to see if I can tweak it to suit my own needs. Appreciate your efforts and all your help.

    Oh. My. God. Ryland (user of this forum) and I downloaded and added this mod, installed it just the way you're supposed to (but still had these weird "$No value 999...." errors), and played multiplayer against a single computer (Probably on Normal) on an 8 player map. The game lasted an hour and 30 minutes, and was the most ****ing fun I have ever had playing CoH!!!!

    This mod is incredible. The only two things that I can tell would make it work better, are fixing the name values, and making it so the computer can't use Goliaths. They thew 78 of them at us during the round, and we only were able to counter them by making around 20 mortar squads.

    Ryland also mentioned during the round that he would like some of the Axis buildings back, if possible.

    I love the additions. Thanks for this awesome mod! Keep up the good work.

    the string errors are because you didnt add the lines to the your ucs file. It is located in your thq\coh\engine\locale\english. Use notepad to open it but first make sure you back it up first and keep your original file. When you patch the game with updates put the original back in. Add the lines I gave you in the readme and you will be able to tell what the new things are. Thanks for enjoying the mod. btw both sides can make goliaths since the same units are on both sides. And I dont know where you got axis buildings from since they are not on the build order

    STEAL, I followed your readme and added those lines. Didn't work. I even got a copy of Ryland's file which worked for him, and it didn't work for me.

    The axis buildings are something Ryland would like to see added in, not something currently available.

    We noticed in a more recent match that we indeed can use goliaths. I just consider them a vehicle, so I thought it was odd for them to be available.

    I seem to be having trouble with the strafing and bombing runs, though. instead of going where I indicate (between the two points you set) it will randomly choose one of the two points and begin attacking away from the other point, and a bit to the side. This has been the cause of a fair amount of frustration; when I can't properly attack an opponent I should have no trouble defeating, it makes it very difficult to beat them, especially when the computer manages to acquire significantly higher amounts of resources than myself even if I control the whole map, and can use the same abilities with deadly accuracy.

    were you using the mod with the trench map cause it has random bombing runs. I never had a problem with other maps and the mod but I play most with the the trenchwarfare the next battle map and I have both versions posting with or without bombing runs. As far as the ucs file I dont know what to tell you but keep trying it works for everyone else.
