Liking the building and reaver, I got the Warhound from the TTRU mod (I think) and that's brilliant, can't wait for the others to be released as well.

    Regarding the walk cycle:

It shoulnd't really be too bird like, as it's not actually reverse-kneed when you look at the structure - it's much more like a dog's leg (ie the foreleg doesn't change orientation nearly as much as a bird's leg).

I use IK, but not CAT, it's manually keyframed. I do intend to tweak the constraints on the leg when I redo the animations (redoing all animations) which should prevent some of the popping at the knee and introduce a little more shift to the foreleg.

It also looks a little stiff as the guns aren't tracking / idling. With those in motion it looks better (as do the idles). Since that's achieved in game it'll be difficult to display without running it through fraps or similar (which'd be after everythings pretty much done).

Ooh. Just had a butchers at photos of the new reaver. Looks interesting to animate. And triple-barelled turbo lasers in each arm! And a new curvy multilauncher!

I'll do this new version when I do the mars pattern titans. Looks to have a very similar arm / shoulder mount to the warhound, so I'll probably model the two at the same time.

Found some old screenshots and added them to the first post, spoiler wrapped. A splash of colour in otherwise mostly grey modelling work shots. :-)

I've remodelled the tier 2 hq, as I had problems getting the round landing pad to match style. The tier 3 will retain the control panel, but will have the lift and under-pad warehousing of this model. The pad for tier 3 will be square, each side of the same dimensions as the long side of this model:

Edit: I can't really say how far along I am. I'm pretty much just doing stuff as I feel like it.

Woah, is that all Tier 2?

If so then that is one big, but freaking brilliant model! And it's not even fully textured!!!

Yeah, it's all tier2. Tier 3 has a larger pad and control tower.

Here's a pic of the progress so far. Got a nice selection of floor tiles for the common building texture map. There'll be 3 512's for HQ unique stuff. The control tower will eat texture space. :-(

The Adeptus Astartes and the Adeptus Titanicus have no commander/commanding relationship; just like the Imperial Guard, they serve the same 'masters', the High Lord of Terra and are therefore sent to wage the same wars.

Now, what would be interesting in some later development is to see a fabled psi-titan from the Divisio Telepathica
We look to the heavens so that one day our children may look back towards home.

I think at some point some experimental rules were put out. But in some tangent plane of the multiverse they are bent to exist since they're mentioned in the fluff part of the Adeptus Titanicus rulebook.

The chaos titans are going to be put on hold till the new forgeworld reaver is finalised. That'll be used as the mars pattern reaver design (to match the mars pattern forgeworld warhounds). This will drop it behind the IG titanhunters race mod (stormblade, shadowsword redesigns).

Back to chaos titans: The first version will be chaos undivided. Standard traitor legions are the base here (nothing power-specific) and as such the units, buildings etc will closely mirror the imperial titans forces. The chaos titans will be slightly more flexible tactically - a chaos warhound will be fitted with one light scout weapon and one heavy scout weapon. The imperial one conversely comes in light and heavy variants and is so a little more specialised.

The chaos reaver will basically be equipped similarly to the forgeworld model options. Don't know what they'll be, but there'll be a multilauncher.

Eventually it'd be nice to do power-specific chaos titans, but I don't think I'd ever get the time, nor do I think they're expressly required.

Not far off finishing the tier 2 hq now. I'll finish the tier 3 at the same time. Then it's onto the next building...

I'm not quite sure what you're asking here.

The best way of implementing Tyranid Bio-titans would be as a mini-race based on one of the Tyranid race mods and balanced against the DC races. The best people to talk to about this would be the tyranid mod guys, who will probably tell you that they won't do it for their main release. Once the imperial titans are out, they may change their mind and / or allow me to produce a variant of their race.

Come on! Why would it be dead? Seriously!
I'll most certainly sound like an old rambler but modders have a real life too and Winterdyne most likely has his mind busy with other things that have priority over his mod.
Besides, given the amount of work he has put up in the recent times, it'd be a very strange thing if that mod suddenly kicked it...
Remember the rule: a mod isn't dead unless the modteam/modder says so.

also, you got to remember that when alot of work is put into a mod, it doesnt die that easy. winterdyne can do all the animations textures and modelling for his own mod. its generally mods that cant get hold of those type of assets that will die alot more easier.

slow it down a bit its not . so you're saying he's busy on his own mod right? so he's on 2 mods at once. hmmmmmm interesting

"so you're saying he's busy on his own mod right?"

    No, they didn't.

Horusheretic just underlined the fact that Winterdyne was able to control the whole chain from modeling to lua coding, which is a very good point for mod survivability.

And Lleman Russ wisely reminded readers that modders had other things to do in their life which would be more important than modding. You know... work, taking care of the ones you love. Real life.

I thought someone was going to mail me the stormhammer max files?

No progress over the past few weeks as I've been rather busy (it's both my kids' birthdays within a couple of weeks of each other).

THIS MOD IS NOT DEAD. Merely a little sleepy.

Anyway, not got the stormhammer to play with yet.

The current list of stuff to do (for the imperial titans race):

    1) Finish detailing and texturing tier 2 and 3 HQ.

    2) Scutarii Barracks

    3) Vehicle Factory

    4) Scout Titan Assembly Bay

    5) Tarantula emplacement (Turret - heavy bolter / lascannon)

    6) Small Plasma Reactor

    7) Large Plasma Reactor

    8) Listening Post (including upgrades)

    9) Cybernetics Facility (produces servitors, scutarii upgrades)

    10) Research Building (improvements on titans)

    11) Retexture Servitors, Razorbacks

    12) AT Techpriest

    13) AT Techmagos

So still quite a way to go, but most of the buildings will be pretty similar, so shouldn't take too long.

Titans 'just' for all existing races (that use them) would mean increasing his current load i believe and not by just a few hours, with i.e. Gargant, Stomper, Phantom, Revenant, Eldar scout (wossisname???), Warlord, Reaver, Warhound, Imperator, Banelord, Despoiler and, why not, all the Khornate Warmachines...and hey, why not also chuck in the eldar and imperial knights while we're at it.
Now, 'just' (ha!) making a set of 'light' to 'battle' titans for the imperials is in my opinion a very demanding task on which Winterdyne has been successful but if you read back on this thread, you'll realize it has most certainly be marked by already troublesome stages.
Now, i may be wrong, and in this case WD is an even better modder than i already think he is.
So, please, don't go asking him to 'just' add titans to other races.. it gives the impression his current work is kind of meaningless as a full race and makes you just sound like hungry-for-extra-shiny-toys-to-play-with and devoid of interest to the new opportunities such a new race could offer gaming-wise.
Again, i try not to sound full of bile, but feel i had to open my trap about this. So, apologies to you if you're harmed by this and to Winterdyne if i speak out of turn.

Making things clear here. I actually read the thread and all of the posts. Now, i was mentioning the warlord as it could 'just' (ha! again) be thrown in as an extra for the imperials... just like i mentionned other titans... and that bit is called sarcasm actually.
    Off off-topicness.

Now, a little lexicon time: i know i also mentioned 'battle' titans for the imperials... This term regroups both 'line' titans which are the Warlord, which you point out as excluded, and the Reaver, which is WD's choice pick for the imps.

Ok, I've got it now. Can't promise when I can start on it - I plan to texture it at the same time as I retexture the baneblade and shadowsword, and probably some LR variants for the IG titanhunters.

The Warlord IS planned. Not for use in the race as a buildable unit (as I suspect it'll be difficult to balance) but do intend to get it modelled and put in game at some point. It shouldn't be much taller than the reaver with the multilauncher angled back so size isn't too much of an issue. That said, both the reaver and warlord will dominate the screen. The warlord is most likely only ever going to be used for 'mission' maps for the titans race (escort the damaged warlord back to base sort of things).

The main reason for not adding the titans to the existing races is one of balance - to make an addition to an existing race alters the balance - that is to say ALL races would have to be given a suitable counter-unit. It's much easier to balance a single race against the others than everything against everything else.

Secondly, I'm not a professional artist. I'm still learning tricks that the pro's use, so I wouldn't be too confident in style matching to the existing buildings etc, and I am the type of person that doesn't like mismatched styles in a race. The IG titanhunters is a style matching exercise (and will revolve around heavy reuse of details from the original texture maps for the tanks).

As for other mods I'm working on - I'm not! Dogs of War is the only actual mod I'm working on, although I do occasionally try to help out if I can. Sometimes I simply can't find the time, like with Zany's Necron Pylon, sometimes I can. Best not to rely on me for anything time-critical.

I'M BAAACK!! Long time no post!

No one should be giving WD any flak for not making much progress of late (not that anyone has, really). As he said, he's an ARTIST, not a pro.

I play tabletop 40k and have for years. I do a lot of custom work on my models, and have entire armies made of converted/scratchbuilt pieces. What WD is doing equates to building a scratchbuilt army AND writing a new codex at the same time. It's all on a computer, too... snapping/chopping bitz off and crazygluing new ones in place isn't an option.

So, WD is to be commended and praised for his excellent WIP. If I had skills in such projects, I would offer my time and assistance in finishing this mod. I, for one, don't care if it takes until 2015 for him to finish it, I will D/L and play this mod whenever it is ready. GO WinterDyne!!

Help would be welcome. I've had a few people help along the way - BigFish with the wtp's for the warhound, CrimsonBronxs with some code and general ideas, hints and tips and offers of model trades from Compiler, Shin etc, too many places to mention.

PM if you think you can help and we'll have a chat.

Been working on the hq's still. Pretty much done, just a few details to tweak here and there, and the crates and lamp posts to add to tier 2 and 3. Then I think I'll do a techpriest. I feel like doing a character.

This pic shows the flow of tier 1 (right) to tier 3 (left) quite nicely. I'm happy enough with it. You'll notice the round pad has been firmly consigned to the scrap heap.
