    IC and its players

This is just a little question about what motivates Impossible Creature players.
This game must be the most difficult game ever to patch with probably the smallest online community ever but there is still a playing community. Apart from it being the best game ever(opinion) what keeps you playing this underadvertised underused best game ever game.(Slightly biased opinion but I have played for 4 years and still play now)
Is 20 pound for the weight like 30 pounds if a guy lifts?

So either your little non-english speaking weightlifting neighbour has broken in to your house to borrow your computer & Relic forums login, or you're spinning us a line.. :p

It's just a fun game, fast pace if you want sometimes when you don't Its simple but yet very complex. It plays good online and runs smooth on just about any pc.
There are some great mods and maps that have been made for it.
There just isn't any rts like it or close enough to its gameplay style to make me switch to it.

Still don't know why more people don't play it, I think mainly the box art and the little advertising were targeted to the wrong people.

I think a Impossibe creatures 2 or similar rts with some new gameplay and new graphics would be a hit.

    1 question then.
Why the hell was it rated so high considering the creatures are cartoonish and even the henchmen would never be classified as lifelike?

EDIT I meant the age group classification rating not the quality of the game

Maybe for the same reason that World of Warcraft's characters look like ass but people play it anyway?
My Interceptor is better than your Interceptor.

Belgarion, why did you call it the best game ever then completely insult it? O_o

The whole point of the game is for it to be cartoonish, which I like. Of course it won't be classified as lifelike; it has 20' tall locusts!

But hey, I like it. I don't play it much as I can't play online and I got stuck on the missions. To be precise, the one with the fly-girl and her scouts. I can beat the scouts, just then she sends swarms of enemies. Help!?

IC is utterly boring unless against very good opponents. Against the AI or mediocre players, the game is just too simplistic. It shines at high level play, though. But, even then, it often comes down to just massive spam and super early rushes. It's fun, but not anywhere as deep as it needed to be. And it doesn't need to be as deep as RoN, just a bit more complexity, even on the level of most other rts games like SC and AoE would have helped it tremendously. I also think people are put off with having to spend so much time in the combiner - I know I've thought of playing it once in a while and just the idea of spending an hour or two in the combiner sometimes makes me think twice. That's why you see people with the same units; it's often much easier to make a cookie cutter army and be done with it. In addition, IC is a bitch to patch....Relic was extremely sloppy in this regard.

I've never had any problem patching it.

Perhaps I just suck at playing, though, because I find the game impossibly difficult and frustrating. Which is odd, because I'm normally decent at RTS games.
    Currently playing:
    Final Fantasy III
    Advance Wars: Days of Ruin

The way you can customise an army to your liking, and always try new strats.

The campaign has good missions, (although easy).

The online was great when it was popular. I could always find a game. I lurved those days. Wish they would come back :'(

I have so many memories, 'specially n00b ones xD

I discovered this game a bit late, but I'm having fun with it. Haven't tried to play online yet, as I want to finish the campaign. I'm a bit frustrated with the Velika stage - with the flying apes at the start - I just cannot seem to make any progress. Whenever I try something new, I just get swamped by either the flying rhinos or the giraffe/cobra things. I like this game a whole lot, though, which is why I'm keeping at it. It has a good 'feel' to it, and I like he way the story veers between ridiculous humour ("They're really big drums") and seriousness.

I don't have any problem with the combiner. I think it gives the game a uniqueness which sets it apart. It's one of the more enjoyable RTS games I've played.

Archerfish hippos to her base and bomb from the water. I dont think I need to spoiler this as the game is 4 years old.
Get online you know you want to

    Thanks, Belgarion

(Slaps self on forehead) Archerfish/Hippo! Why didn't I think of that? I'd figured out that ground-based units were of secondary importance on this particular Island and I'd been using various aerial Archerfish combos to no avail, as well as several amphibious units, but that sounds like the way to go! Thanks!

Yeah it is because relic doesn't give us the tools we need to patch it.

The combiner is the only reason I ever play it anymore. The amount of selection is provides in terms of units means that there's always something new to try. Also, now that the balance in terms of unit costs has been significantly improved there are a lot more of the unseen combos that are actually usable.
