    DC Mod Manager and Launcher - Version 1.2

    Hay guys, i have made a new version to run with DoW/DC 1.2.

    This version will create a mod called "Mod Manager" that will have the collection of mods you have put together.

    You might need to go into the DoW mod manager if it doesn't activate on start up, but it will be in there.

    You can get this version from - Download

    Just UnZip it into you DoW-DC directory.

    oops, sorry guys i just noticed a issue with the DoW_Mod_Manager.bat & Module file not starting the mod correctly. I have updated the above link with a fixed version of manager.

    looks awesome man! nice work but didnt someone else release soemthing to unlock the mod manager still its pretty cool seperating the mods that wont work and will work

    Will this break online play? I have been having some trouble with the AI mod and Corsix's fix/hack thing.

    I cant remove it from my cpu it cant find the source.

    With online play, if both players are using the same mods - in the same order (this is important) they should work online.

    If you want to remove the manager it is in the Dark Crusade folder. Their are 2 things to remove
    1) Pro_Mod_Manager.exe
    2) ProModManger folder

    and of course the desktop shortcut. However before removing it, make sure you run it one last time and remove any active mods and launch the game. This will reset your DXP2 file to its orginal settings.

    Once, relic fixes their mod manager. I will update the program to work from a different file and thus not affect the game files at all. I will also add the program to the directory and add an uninstaller, i didn't add them out of person choice. I find it just more files to fill up my dir's, but i can see the benifits in this case.

    Well i did as you said but it turned the shortcut into a blank file that won't delete or shred.

    WOW, thats a bit odd? I guess i would advise anyone who has already downloaded it to remove the shortcut first. I have an updated version now with uninstaller, so to avoid anymore problems. But i can't seem to simulate the problem here.

    Let me know how you go, if it happens to me i will PM you a fix.

    This one looks and promises to be extremely awesome, total joy, and so on. I only have one question: if someone (not me, I don't plan doing so) combines mods that have conflicts (for example they do different things to the same unit), what will it do?

    Sorry if this comes off as abit of a noob problem, but whenever i go to launch a mod, say dowai, i click on launch and get an error saying
    'Unhandled exception has occured in your application..... Access to the path C:\program files\Thq\dawn of war - dark crusade\dxp2.module is denied'

    clicking continue does nothing

    Thats strange VS stuff usually has a link that pops up if you don't have the correct framework, I'll have to remember that. I have put a link in my first post for dot net version 2.

    Some mods will conflict with each other, but the last one down in the active list will over ride the above it. Some mods won't work well together at all and could cause the game to crash, but this will be a trial and error thing. But it means for all the people who really put the hard work in and created whole new races they should work really well together. The only thing that could really screw it up is if they didn't use some orginal numbering in the local file.

    If you get a "Access to the path C:\program files\Thq\dawn of war - dark crusade\dxp2.module is denied'" error, it just means that your DXP2 file is still on read only. Easy fixed, just go to the DXP2.module file at the errored location - right click on it and go to properties, then remove the read only tick and press OK. Or if you want you can just delete the file and run the mod manager and select the mods, then the manager will create a new one from scratch. Either way will work. Once the internal mod manager is fixed there will be no need for us to work with the DXP2 file anymore.

    I'm trying to get some other mirrors up, i'm just waiting for a responce. But i use filefront because it is so good, strange you are having problems? will post in 1st post once i get conformation from some mirrors.

    As you can see in my image of my first post, there are 3 mod about to be launched.

    Turrets
    VDistance
    Objectives_Project

    So Objectives_Project will override other mods above it if the same file is used in the mod above it, so yes it allows you to use multiple mods at once. But you have to remember not all mods will go together.

    ok, so this is like a prettier DC version of Corsix thing and all i need to do is install the mods and this.
    only one question, do i still need to have corsix's little fix thingy (e.g. AAAAAAA.module)?

    I was unaware the Corsix had made a thingy? what ever that is o_O

    So the answer is no, it runs all by itself.

    Corsix workaround only allows you to play one mod with DC.
    This one allows you to play multiple mods at the same time with DC.

    no what i meant was this:
    1 this file is like corsix's mod manager for DoW and WA
    and
    2 do we need the WXPMod_DCMod.dll or AAAAAA.module or just the mod folder and .module file to run each mod in your manager?

    The MOD Manager works great ! Ive never got Corsix enabler to work on my machine even though Ive tried a variety of different solutions.

    However I did the following to get it working.

    1) Repairs the .net installation refered to in the original post
    2) Made sure the DXP2.module in C:\Program Files\THQ\Dawn of War - Dark Crusade
    is writable.

    I also managed to play the following Mods together using it.

    - Annilation Mod 1.5
    - Dawn of Skirmish 2.1

    However I had to go the following to get this working

    1) Edit file dowai.module in C:\Program Files\THQ\Dawn of War - Dark Crusade

    Change setting of DllName to look like

    DllName = WXPMod

    King_Malekith you dont need WXPMod_DCMod.dll or AAAAAA.module to use the Mod this Manager, however what I tried to explain badly in my previous post is that in order to use in my case I did the following.

    1) Install/Repair the .net framework refered to in the original post
    2) Made sure the DXP2.module in C:\Program Files\THQ\Dawn of War - Dark Crusade

    ok, got that thanks alot, this means i can now download this (i got the latest .net i do beieve) and install all the mods ive got waiting without buggering up my game (cos i can turn em off)

    This is absolutely driving me nuts, and I think it's to do with the fact that the path is shorter than the default. When I put in my route directory path (R:\THQ\Dawn of War - Dark Crusade) it adds "- Dark Crusade\" onto the end of it, I can't get rid of it not matter what I do. Because of this I can't get it to work

    EDIT: Nevermind, I fixed it by editing the .pap file!

    lol, sorry to be messing with your head

    This is an interesting problem and one i didn't really think about, my bad. I will have to correct this with an update to the program. Until then, here's a work around. In you DC folder is a folder called ProModManger. In your case it will be here

    R:\THQ\Dawn of War - Dark Crusade\ProModManger\

    In that folder you will see a file called filePath.pap, just open the file with notepad and you will see the file path in there. Just change it to what you want the path to be and clear of any unwanted characters. Then run the manager and all should be cool.

    If you have any other prob's let me know, again sorry to drive you nuts. I hate stuff like that, I'm dissapointed that one go past me.

    Edit : Cool, i see you fixed it, the above fix is for anyone else that is having the same problem.

    Thanks Sgt Burns, this is excellent. I particularly like the little web-window that tells us the latest mod news, that's a great idea (however when I click a link it crashes both explorer and itself- I use Firefox is there a way to customize this?).

    The camera_zoom mod, that lets you zoom out further from the battlefield, does not show up- is this because it is a file replace and not a properly installed mod?

    It installed fine, everything shows up in the windows... I put multiple mods to the right and it loads just the last mod I was playing, not combining for me. I'm trying to get SL and Dowxp to go together. Any thoughts?

    camera_zoom mod - i haven't heard of it? If it doesn't have a module file in the root directory, than yes its not a mod.

    Camera zoom is a .lua file to give you extened camera range. And it works on multiplayer ftw! Though i don't need this mod manager, my DC game manager has always worked fine.

    You can mod the camera lua without making it a mod.

    Hmm, I had an error telling me that DXP2.module was not accesible. Then turned DXP2.module "read only" checkbox off, and now it tells mw that "System can't find specified file".

    Any clue?

    hi,

    i cant make the game starts when i put the annihilation mod into the mod manager. when i load the game with that mod the game crashes after the intro movie. what can i do to make annihilation mod work?

    Hi there

    I'm trying to use the Mod manager you made but when I get through the opening FMV the game just goes back to windows when the DC loading screen appears?

    My mod works ok when I run it from a batch file or using Corsix's mdo studio.

    Could someone tell me what's wrong?
