    Problems conencting to automatch games.

I've forwarded my ports, but can only join an automatch game maybe 10% of the time (can't host at all).

I ran the net tester, and got this:

Sending udp packet from 6112 to 6112
Received from /66.134.89.225:6112 to 6112 "NAT detected"
Received from /66.134.89.225:6112 to 6112 "udp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:6500 to 6500 "udp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:27900 to 27900 "udp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:27901 to 27901 "udp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:29910 to 29910 "udp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:51535 to 6667 "tcp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:51536 to 28910 "tcp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:51537 to 29900 "tcp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:51538 to 29901 "tcp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:51539 to 29920 "tcp pass"

Which looks like 6112 is blocked, and the others are open. I opened them all the same way, is this a known issue?

    Thanks.

    Hi there Cat0234,

What you are experiencing is common amongst most Router users, you cannot join a game where another user has the same problem as you - regarding NAT. Think of this in terms of magnetism, two likes cannot face each other, they repel.

You can get around this issue perhaps:
    - by making your computer a DMZ host/server (having all ports forwarded to yourself)
    - by using uPnP in your router settings
    - by assuring that all your firewalls (both software and hardware) are disabled fully.

If you require any further, assistance, it'd be much appreciated if you could provide your router make and model number, together with the method you are attempting.

Hi. I have a D-Link 624 router and a zyxel 600 modem. I had the same problem. And I still have it.
Sending udp packet from 6112 to 6112
Received from /66.134.89.225:6112 to 6112 "NAT detected"
Received from /66.134.89.225:6500 to 6500 "udp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:27900 to 27900 "udp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:27901 to 27901 "udp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:29910 to 29910 "udp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:44437 to 6667 "tcp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:35509 to 28910 "tcp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:35168 to 29900 "tcp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:42331 to 29901 "tcp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:48825 to 29920 "tcp pass"

I was curious if perhaps the uPnP settings could leed to something brilliant, but I can't find this option on my router. DMZ is out of the question, and my firewalls are all down.

Dejin - Why do you say that DMZ is out of the question? Does it not feature on your router?

Because I live with 3 other people who uses the internet. I have also tried to dmz my computer to see if it worked, but it didn't. I have the option, but nothing happened when I tried. But the uPnP perhaps? I have contacted the internet company i get my adsl from, but havn't had any answer from them as of yet.

UPnP might work - it would be worth giving it a go. Your Router holds the answers to this question, not your ISP, unless they supplied it of course.

nah, uPnP didn't work . Damnit! It's no listing of it on my switch, but the modem\router had the option, but it's still the same on the net test. 6112 still NAT

Mmm that is quite unfortunate, almost all UPnP routers come with IGD Protocol as standard.
It might be worth contacting your ISP regarding this issue - I trust you can play perfectly fine online one at a time, but not all at once?

The zyxel has a uPnP option, but I can't see IGD Protocol anywhere. I've opened all ports on the zyxel, and opened the required ports in the D-link. Regarding the one at a time, and all at once - If you mean in dawn of war playing 1 on 1 versus playing 2vs2, 3vs3 etc. I can get into perhaps 50 % of the automatch games when joining, never when hosting, away from that, the games run fine when I first get a connection. And in the more than 2 players games I get in to 1 of 15 games or less. But if you're talking about the other people on my connection, I havn't had any troubles with anyone else playing anything on the net, but im the only one playing games like DOW.

One thing more about joining games - I see 50% or more of all the games listed pings as "---"

Dejin - at your earliest convenience could you contact your ISP to ask about this issue, referring mainly to port 6112 and ask about any maintenance they may be doing.

Also, where in the world are you?

Also can you describe how your network is setup - using simple notation like :

    Cable -> Modem -> Router -> 2 Computers

I've not recieved any answer from my ISP yet, but my setup is:

    adsl 2 (20000\1100) > zyxel 600 > D-Link 624 > 4 pc's 1 laptop

I might be wrong here, but don't most ADSL modems come with a built-in Router?

2 Routers is not a good thing for any network under 10 computers.

I would perhaps recommend seeing if you removed the Router and did a direct link from the ADSL Modem to your computer if the problem still remained.
If it does, you know its your Modem or your connection.
If it doesn't, you know its your Router stacking.

Jan - are your firewalls configure to enable this port to be used? Also, have you tried using DMZ, UPnP or Bridge Mode on your Router?

Any Anti-Virus software on your computer using this port ? - disable Anti Virus and attempt playing.

Failing that, just double check that your Modem doesn't have any options for port forwarding, and then try playing the game without your Router (connect directly to the modem from your PC).

So I take that to mean that you tried using it, and it didn't fix your issue?

Check the other 2 things :

    1. Check your Modem for possible Routing/Port Forwarding/Firewalls
    2. Try your game after removing the Router and connecting directly to the Modem.
