The escape button should work. The only exception to this is the first time you load the game after a clean install or after some of the patches. You'll have to sit through them then.

While the patch readme/release notes said otherwise, pressing Escape worked fine after I installed the last patch. But anyway...

You can also add -nomovies command line to your desktop shortcut. It should look something like the following:

"C:\Program Files\THQ\Dawn of War - Dark Crusade\DarkCrusade.exe" -nomovies

The path may vary, depending on where the game is installed.

Also, for pretty much any game out there you can simply find the movies and move them to another folder. I wouldn't delete them on the off chance that the game won't work without them but 99 percent of the time it will simply ignore that they're not there and skip them. Ofcourse it's alot cleaner to simply edit the shortcut with "-nomovies" or whatever but that's not always an option.
