    Slimcartman, it's likely that the File is Read only. I'm not sure if it's changed for Vista, but on XP, to make it editable, highlight the File>Right click>Properties, and then find the Check Box 'Read Only', or words to that effect. Uncheck the box, and then you should be able to save the file.

    I was using the Earthshakers, and they seem too i mean too under powered. i mean i fired serveral rounds at ORKS in NEGATIVE cover.. and they jsut walked right threw it didnt scatter or any thing it took me about 3 to 4 shots to killa single ork.

    another little problem is about instint death. if you shot a mega nob with a railgun, it would die easily. in fok, it take an entire tau army with 5 railguns about ten second to kill 3 meganobs. its not that big of a deal but it would add a more 40k ish feeling.

    So wiat, you want to be able to one-shot one of the toughest units in the game with a relatively cheap, long-ranged weapon? I'd say that weapon would need DRASTICLY reduced rate of fire and/or accuracy to accomodate it.

    Dawn of War isn't Tabletop, it can't be balanced the same. It could be done, sure, but it would have to take a big hit to counterbalance it.

    In Fok, health is multiplied by a certain number i think. It was done on purpose because TT is played turn based, you have time to plan your tactics. So in FoK we increase the troops survivability to give you more time to react in battle.

    lordoftheT, persistant bodies, perhaps? And if they don't give a physical model (i.e. if you can walk through the persistant body), in Soulstorm there could be a way to do that. It's a pretty minor addition, mind you.

    we had already tried that out in the internal as far as I remember. but it just looked weird for some vehicles like walkers. and it sucks badly if you have one chokepoint that is trashed with 10 killakan wrecks....looks real bad too

    Would they be solid or would units be able to walk through them? Having a physical presence would make it more realistic. If the enemy is storming your base, drop a pod in and block up the entrance for 30 seconds...

    You know, if that works out could we get Deathstorm drop-pods too? Drop them in with the drop-pod animation and have them spawn a fragile solid min-turret. Possibly with the missile launcher version being single salvo only? Maybe even if its possible to have the assault cannon version have limited ammo.

    It's not Table Top. Although the Deathwind Launcher is, the Deathwind Drop Pod (as in 5 Heavy Weapon Launcher etc) is not Closer to Codex.

    GIve the weapon a very low rate of fire (7-10 seconds) and here you got you'r balancing

    you got enough time for tactical decisions

    It worked very well in Zany's TT mod by the way

    I rebalanced Fok this way and it works perfectley - games are much more tension packed

    yay the deciever! are you guys going to fix the AI? my ally never helps me in dead of winter and also in most maps.... idk it's just kinda wierd. oh and does anyone know where to find a dow multiplayer test? or how to fix it? mine is F**ked up

    Anywho - the Elite TM can exchange his Bolter for a Combi-Flamer, a Storm Bolter, a Combi-Plasma, or a Combi-Melta. He can also exchange his Power Axe for a Thunder Hammer. The last upgrade gives him a full Servo Harness with a Flamer and a twin-linked Plasma Pistol. He also gets a special attack that activates every now and then that allows him to scatter and damage troops trying to engage him in CC.

    And yeah - they're some cool sync-kills involving the Servo Arms

    both, we have builder techmarines, with just a boltgun and servoarm, and a fully upgradable elite class techmarine too.

    there two types of Techmarine

    Techmarine Builder

    He replaces the servitor and is armed with a bolter and servo-arm. No upgrades.

    Techmarine

    He takes up Elite cap, can have a bunch of upgrades and a retinue of combat servitors. Cannot requisition buildings, but he can construct/repair them.
