    its not about turning OFF specular maps, but having them for the other races too. but that's just cosmetics.
    Wait a little longer - I will upload spec. textures for all races in 2-4 hours.
    Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

    cat's one isn't a patch, he just uploaded a non corrupt version

    meloo is still drumming up a hotfix patch, which *should* bring the data folders in line for the borked and cat's version

    Oh... I am flattered! But there is one serious drawback of such fast release - I didn't test all of textures with current FoK build. So some textures might not work correctly and some are in a wip state.

    I think Meloo wants us to wait for the patch so that any (minor) differences between BETA 0.3 and the one Cat Emp uploaded won't cause issues.

    Ah guys -- Tau LP3? Since when does Tau go past LP Addon_1 -- that was in my "code-frozen" Beta3 Release Candidate. You re-added a second Tau LP addon where the Tau had only one Tau LP addon? If so..... the Tau AI needed to kinda know that and be scripted for it.

    uh.. what happend to rapid fire for Guardsman? and for some reason when it reaches 11 guardsman in a platoon.. the number dont reinforce any more.. and what makes me really sad is what happend to "eyes deep in hell firestorm SE" map? i like it what you guys do with it?

    I downloaded this yesterday, played the heck out of it last night and from unzipping to turning the game off, there wasnt a single problem.

    Throughly enjoyed myself to boot!

    I loved the noise marines, great addition. The black templars fit in great with the system it seems.

    I purposefully avoided using the space marines since they were the most refined race in the last build, I was giving the others a chance so it came as a big surprise to me to come to these forums and see the posts being made.

    A shame for those involved that they'd see bitching instead of complements abound but im sure its just minor easy fixes that'll take no time


    From what ive seen, big thumbs up so far!

    Now, there are certain parts that still have beta written all over them, thats to be expected, but chaos is sures hell a big improvement over the last build. Uncompareably better the improvements on each mark shine out. Still a lot of work that can be put into them to get them as polised as the other races, understandable since chaos as a whole is by far and away the biggest multi-faction faction, but never the less great!

    Good luck to mk with whatever you go on to do and thanks for a fun game, hopefully relic will have seen what you've done and consider an approach closer to Tt for their design of dow2.

    - I think Rapid Fire was removed entirely for all factions due to some serious bugs
    - Guardsmen platoon can upgrade up to 23+2 sergeants, make sure they're near your LP/Bunkers/HQ/Transport when you reinforce
    - Whats the difference between "Eye Deep in Hell" and "Eye Deep in Hell Firestorm SE"?

    Hi great mod i like it alot but when ever a load a skirmish game with sms in it it crashes half way though the load screen.

    YUP berzerker Cat's version has been blocked on FileFront until we are really sure that there wont be sync errors between those who have MK version + HOTFIX and BC version + HOTFIX

    so hang in there a little bit we are working hard to get this

    those who have already Downloaded BC version do not worry

    OK Follow these instruction and your FoK copy shall work without any problem!

    1-If you already downloaded "MK original FoK BETA 3" realease skip to step 3, if downloaded Berzerker Cat release skip to step 3 as well.

    2-OK if you havent downloaded any follow to the next link:
    BERZERKER CAT's DOW40k FOK BETA3 RELEASE , Good Now install it!.

    3-In order to solve UCS ranges bug, you must remove completely the "LOCALE" folder from the MOD main Directory "DOW40K_FOK". Done? good now install this Patch and overwrite everything.

    4-NOW your good to go! can play online without sync errors or Crash to the Desktop caused by SM razorback! ENJOY!

    Megazogg, does this texture pack take care of the missing teamcoloring in some textures and make all SM textures in line with each other (cause right now some SMs have different weapon color than others)?

    the sm weapon colours are intentional, the specularity pack does not add teamcolours to models that don't already have it, IIRC

    Actually, this pack adds tc textures for some units. Also it contains some new, unreleased textures. And btw, I am tweaking dire avenger textures right know, so you can expect an update soon.

    Oh and I forgot to add that all SM units know have the same, fixed, weapon color. This issue is caused by using mixed sm textures in Beta 3 - some of them mine, and some of them... are old. I fixed this issue long ago for my self, but FoK folks didn't include all my SM textures into beta 3 for some unknown to me reasons.

    For Rapid Firing, I thought I should point out that Plague Marines can still use Rapid Fire.

    And seriously guys, just.... wow. The reinforcement change alone makes this mod a whole new game. All the new bells and whistles, and the obvious love put into this game makes it astounding.

    A Great Piece of Work

    Played it through and what a great piece of work guys,

    The new units, especially all the chaos ones look absolutley fantastic.

    Kudos on geeting the hotfix out so quick.

    I love the inquisition mixed in with IG. I think the two go together great and love IG now (they were my least favorite race before this).

    I agree with Jivebologna, the new reinforcement method really changes the way I play and now it feels like a new game and I am interested in DOW all over agian.

    I have downloaded the verison Berzerker Cats+fix+specularity, removed all beta2 folder and the map Eye Deep in Hell is correct. Maps load correcty and all ok.

    The reinforce on the move does make it a whole new game yes.

    I just played a game with imp guard vs orcs, all out infantry war hehehe Such good fun! Nothing but guardsmen platoons and karskins. Infantry spam can actually take down orc bases now!.... albeit with a lot of casualities.. heh, last game, had an imp guard infantry blob steam roll the base, by the end they had a huge fully reinforced mass of men, yet lost more than they killed hehe.

    I can confirm that Berzerker Cats version has an empty scenarios folder, downloaded and installed an hour ago. Asides, I would like to complement the mod team on so professionally dealing with a bumpy release, though I can't recall any pro's releasing fixes within 24 hours of release

    The mod itself is ace, with the texturing on the new models being of particular note, the Grey Knight Dreadnought and Land Raider carrying that little bit extra WOW factor!! (though the chaos ones are also awesome)

    The new gameplay will take a little getting used to though, just more incentive to keep playing i guess...

    Beautiful mod, really, fantastic stuff.

    Will we see any campaing anytime soon ? Especially now that MK has retired (and rightfully so).

    Even if the current one is unmodified, i still exacted some enjoyment from it. Heres to hoping the campaing comes soon !

    I walked BC through the SVN reversion-export Beta 3 that we were all futzing with last night. Yeah, it doesn't have the MP maps. We could zip those up and release those,too.

    ok the speculars are great, the only collision so far is the standard bearer, as he uses a new model the old speculars won't work. would it work if i copy and rename the specular file of the veterans?

    edit: and the force commander looks screwed too, but only in the main menu. looks fine in the game.

    No, it's mapped differently
