    Axis realism mod skins III for KMOD13.9c [Green tank bug fixed]



    This skin pack aims to enhance the pleasure that one can experience from
    playing COH by recovering the authentic appearance of the german army in WWII.
    So the main configurations are focused on the artworks rather than the gameplay.
    Apart from improving the gaming ui, there also has been some reskinning done on the
    units. For the mod's gameplay, I have chosen to use Kyranzor's KMOD139c.
    Kyranzor's KMOD is one of the oldest mods on the forums and has its own server to
    host games, which means that there is an active group of beta testers for the mod,
    thus reducing problems regarding balance issues to the minimum. This is one reason
    why I chose this mod. Another reason is that a unit inside the mod has been named
    after me. It is an award given to me for winning the 800th post competition by Kyranzor.

    *Some of you may have the green tank problem. Just delete the vehicle folder OR download the folder containing correct skins below.

    *The wehrmacht and volksgrenadier textures were corrupted in the previous
    version, I was unable to spot such a flaw due to hardware reasons. Anyway, the
    texture of these two units has been reskinned.

    *Slight improvement to ALL Axis infantry, vehicle skins.

    here i have found a very important bug.

    check this out, when i have taskbar on, its a greenstug

    when i have taskbar hidden, its normal.

    didnt test with other tanks

    How do you toggle task bars on and off in game? I thought it could only be done in replays :o

    Maybe something went wrong when you imported the data into your mod.
    It shouldnt be a problem too hard to solve, I think.

    add -dev to the target line
    then in game down the consle and write
    taskbar_hide
    taskbar_show

    To get down the console press

    *Shift + Control + "one of the buttons at the left of the Enter key"
    or
    *"They key at the left of the 1 key"
    or
    *Shift + Control + "They key at the left of number 1 key"

    btw i love those flags and specially the infantry models

    I dont have a graphic card like you and cant see my work at its best. It would be rather ironic for a skinner not to see the best of his own work, you know.
    Ah, I especially would like to see how would my mp look like. You can post them for me to see if you have the time : )

    Oh, and I have played your mod a week ago, its very realistic. I sent a group of wehrmachts to attack an enemy squad, the enemy was wiped out in a matter of seconds, but when those wehrmacts engaged another enemy squad, they were also wiped out in seconds :P, lol

    hehe thank you. I dont even have a Good pc, just forced high graphics to see the skins.

    I was getting exactly 11 fps when taking that screenshot

    ill take some photos for ya then and post them in this thread

    ps: thanks for testing my mod :P yes, the matter of the squads wiping depends on the place they are, if they're in middle of the street, they can be easy victim lol

    Allies realistic skin? I thought that the relic already had it well done. In fact, all I did for the allies was to give them the 48 star American flag... and correct symbol locations on the tanks... cant think of anything more to do for them. They are good enough.

    go to your coh short cut

    add -dev to the end of your command line

    you will get something like:

    "C:\Program files\company Of Heros\RelicCOH.exe" -modname KMOD -dev

    then you can use the ctrl shift ~ thing

    I would perhaps never have been able to see them without your help! I just dont have time and money to get that damn graphic card upgraded!

    just delete the vehicle folder. Those vehicles in my skin pack are original relic skins with their markings placed at authentic places.

    It whould be fair to tell the poeple that you dident make all of those skins. You mad the ugly looking field police and your swastika bullshit. Thats all. Most of them are made by halftrack....lol you dident made anything that nearly looks as good as his skins. really.

    That green vehicle problem must be an alpha channel problem.

    Anyways, just want to point out something, you might want to edit your polizei skin's occulusion map(or something like that)

    I can still see that blackish thing on the uniform where the belt was originally there.

    Rename the 'vehicle' folder or delete it, both ways work.

    lol blacklabel calm down. he has given credit and the skins HE did were mostly the non-infantry/tank skins. like flags etc... oh well... he did re-do the fallschirmjager which look really good!

    nsysusoloman; I too downloaded this pack, and got green skins on most of my armor.... Halftracks were ok, ..... guess that is about it.... I ended up deleting my entire KMOD folder and reinstalling KMOD from 1.35 to hotfix..... Loaded up a game and there they were again, sorry M8, but really ugly like that.... anyway I ended up reinstalling my entire game again..... still have to test it

    Help!

    Hi, I'm really new to the whole modding CoH thing, but I'm curious...

    Is there a way to only install the Volksgrenadier skin that
    was in the screenshot revolucian09 took?

    I'm still trying to figure out how to install these mods as well, like I said I'm a total noob to modding

    Also, is it at all possible to use SKIN ONLY mods online? Could I only install the art files (the skins) and have it work online?

    I searched but couldn't find any answers to these questions

    Anyways I REALLY appreciate the help guys!

    you reinstalled the whole game? I thought the game will reuse the default skin after the skin in the mod folder has been deleted...
    This gives rise to a completely new problem: Can files in mod folder cause change to original files? I need help from a expert who can answer this....

    Yes, but you have to create a new mod using corsix's tool.
    Then go to the KMOD folder(that you downloaded)
    C:\...\company Of Heros\KMOD\Data\art\models\races\axis\
    soldiers\shared_textures

    All the infantry skins are located in the above folder. Just copy the textures you want to the 'new mod' you created, then run your new mod and they will be there.

    nsysusoloman: actually no..... I said I deleted the KMOD folder and reinstalled that again first, then the whole game...... so somehow, those skins came back with the Hotfix or 1.39 and then when I reinstalled game of course, the KMOD folder stayed in my COH directory..... I of course reinstalled my game in the same place...... using the same folder structure....... but the KMOD folder would not have been removed when I used Remove Game/Program from my computer.....it isnt part of the real game....

    A little while ago, I reread your posts, and deleted those vehicle folders from arts/models wherever!! and then placed Halftracks vehicles folders in their place and Voila..... it works... But I have noticed that the games have been really unstable lately.... I just had a crash from a game against AI using a map called "Operation Husky"...... wicked, it is one of the best maps I have played... excellent..... found it on Company Of Heroes Filefront site

    My question is, what exact files do I need for the Volksgrenadier skin?

    If you know the files you need, then all you need to do is add those files into your "vanilla" CoH or just use the skin installer tool, right?

    I'd like to be able to upload just the art for the volks into the vanilla CoH mod. My understanding is if I create a "new mod" then I wont be able to play online, which is one of the things I'd like to do with my new skin. So, now I need to know what my next step should be to get that skin into my CoH

    The files you need for volks are files that begin with tex_ax_volksgrenadier and end with .rgt

    Yeah I think "vanilla" sounds stupid too, but hey its easier then saying "the basic CoH mod... thingy.."


    Ok, so I installed the Volksgrenadier .rgt files using the "Skin installer version 0.9".

    The skins worked fine, BUT the soldiers were not wearing helmets, instead they were wearing their usual hats as shown in this screenshot.

    The files I used were under the "shared_textures" folder in your mod. Also I noticed in that folder there was some "tex_ax_2olksgrenadiers.rgt" files as well as the "tex_ax_volksgrenadiers.rgt" files. I used only the "tex_ax_volksgrenadiers.rgt" files, not the ones with the 2 at the front. Do I need to use both the 2 and the non-2.rgt files or what? (The bold letters are there to emphasis the differance between the two files)

    You'll probably have to open up the mod to see what I'm talking about, it might be kinda confusing. The directory I'm in is the following:

    KMOD\Data\art\models\races\axis\soldiers\shared_textures


    Also, is the addition of the helmet to the volks model even an .rgt file or is it something else? If you had to model it or whatever I dunno if it'll work online, but the whole point of this is to find out



    As a side note, your skins look really good man, keep up the good work!

    The 2olksgrenadiers file only contents skins for the military police.
    You need to configure the .abp file to make volks wear helmets. Go find the volksgrenadier.abp file and add
    "Driver\\Driver",

    You will get something like this:

    Forgive the noob question, but wherabout do I add in "Driver\\Driver"? I'm guessing using Corsixs mod tools, but I'm still not 100% on how to navigate that anyways. I found the Volksgrenadier.agp file, but now I'm not sure what to do with it to change it



    EDIT: Ok, I think I found what I'm looking for, I'll add in the driver line and see how it works, I'll get back to ya with any problems, thanks!

    UPDATE: Ok, I used the original volksgrenadier.abp file that is the default CoH volks abp file and then add ed in the "Driver\\Driver" line and it didn't work. Do I need to use YOUR volksgrenadier.abp file and add "Driver\\Driver" to that .abp file? If so, how do I get YOUR .agp file into my mod? Also I noticed that the original Volksgrenadier.abp had a few less lines than the example you gave which could account for it not working.

    Here's what I saw when I opened up the un-edited Volksgrenadier.abp file:

    Sorry if I'm missing something totally basic here, but like I said, I'm really new to this. A step by step "how to" could really help



    Also, as a side note, do you know if editing an .abp will cause a sync error while playing online?

    It is actually very easy to do
    Here is your step by step "how to" :

    1. find the volksgrenadier.abp file of the mod you want to play
    2. open it (I open it with notepad)
    3. add "Driver\\Driver", at the last line and save (comma included)
    4.That's it!

    well, about your sync error thing, I have no idea about it. : (

    Ok, well I got the helmet thing to work with the volks, but apparently it only works using KMOD, it wont work on the official RelicCoH mod or my mod. But anyways, I was able to figure it out so I'm happy. Thanks alot for your help and keep up the good work!

    As a side note/clarifcation, the skin works fine, but adding in the helmet causes problems if you're not using KMOD.

    the visuals are different in Nsysusoloman's mod, but the core gameplay is KMOD :P
