Oh thank sweet Jesus. I was so worried when I didn't hear anything from anyone on this project.
    -
    Sweet map by the way.
Fear not the Snake for his guile, nor his silence,
Fear him for his speed at striking, the clenching strength of his coils,
The armour of his scales, and the sharpness of his bite.
Fear the Snake, oh enemies of Man, for his coils encircle us
And his bright eyes, unblinking, watch over us forever.

I bought both 'Flight of the Eisenstein' and 'Fulgrim' last week, just finished FotE and ive just started fulgrim... FotE was quite cool at the end as it hints at how the Inquisition and possibly even Ordo Xenos/ Ordo Malleus were founded.

FotE was enjoyable, and basically just patches up the story and events that happened during 'Galaxy in Flames', from the Death Guards and Nathaniel Garro's perspective.
It was slower to get into as the previous 3 books were a continuation of each other, but soon picks up speed and overlaps and continues with the story of Istvaan III started with 'Galaxy in Flames'.

Fulgrim seems to be a similar story patch, showing events from the perspective of the Emperors children.
I'm finding it a little slower to get into at the start however, but im sure it will be epic as graham mcneil did a great job on the second book.

    possible future of certain characters...

Well, technically, it has, as Fulgrim, Descent of Angels and Legion are simply the events of the pre-Heresy through the eyes of the Emperor's Children, Dark Angels and Alpha Legion, I think. They may not even advance the story, but... you never know. =P

i dont know if any of you guys have noticed but some of the chaos characters, who i hadnt previously heard of have appeared in the HH books, apart from the obvious Abbaddon and Kharn, there is also Lucius the eternal of the emporers children, and Typhus, who is the reincarnated form of Typhon the 1st captain of the Death Guard

Well, yeah, I think that's some of the changes that they were talking about when the HH fluff came about and why they had to redo a LOT of the campaign, which I think they were already at 1/3 or 2/3s.

    no.

If we have updates, we'll let you know. Its very unlikely we'll have a beta release in the near future.

Well, to add my 2 cents (hope you guys at VoT don't mind ), better have a campaign mod that takes time to 'nifty' all of its aspects and provides a very good content with really well licked up storyline and atmosphere rather than having the guys put out some hurried mod with holes and shabby patches all over the place just because some people can't wait...
    /rant off

Anyways, good luck guys. You belong to that group of mods that are much awaited and no doubt you'll produce an extremely entertaining and challenging campaign with hours of fun (hmmm...Dropsite Massacre... yumm !!! )
    Cheers

You should've told me to remove the userbar then, heres me with some random thing advertising the word beta for people!

I've not actualy read the Horus Heresy books, I assume from the way most people are talking about them, they're worth the read? Something about multiple authors puts me off somewhat, but the impression I've been getting is the changes made are pivitol to the plotline.

You should get Horus Rising to Galaxy in Flames and also maybe Fulgrim, as Flight of the Eisenstein chronicles Garro's escape from Isstvan III (they changed the name) and doesn't offer much of the actual Heresy as the other books do.

But yes, there are some major plot changes.

  34. #184
    so whats new in fulgrim.
Show me a fortress and I'll show you a ruin+++ Captain Eddan Bourne,
No. 2 Assault Company, Silver Skulls +++

    Congratulations mate!

Fluffball: remind me to send you maps i've finished, so you can at least test for pathing issues etc, if the mission isn't coded yet, sorry we haven't been in much contact lately.

Just wanted to say congratulations to Argonaut on his upcoming 40k fan!

  44. #194
    hello,
also my congratulations!! i'm happy for your family!

to the ones which want a substitute for the HH-campaign in the meantime:

there is an old demo of the campaign:
    http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?p=1736178
    (only the 'mirror' works)
for some reason, the provided installer doesn't makes a proper installation, so the mod can't be started via the game manager (you need DoW-WA!)
you need to make an additional file in your 'Dow'-folder called "HHC_Demo.module", with the following contents:

    HHC_Demo.module Content

some posts in the previous threads show that others also had my problem.

if the makers of the actual mod don't want that the old demo is referenced, please PM, i will delete this post if requested.

PS: i have to agree with a previous poster: this demo is superior to all relic campaigns

Yeah that demo was awesome I still play it from time to time. My fluffy side was kind of annoyed by how fast the Space Marines died but it kept it challenging which to me is more important. If the actual mod is as cool as the demo suggested I probably wont leave my house for a month so I can play it. Hopefully my boss is also a DoW/40k fan, will also become addicted to the mod and therefore will not notice my absence.

I have to admit, after getting very frustrated by not being able to get things working as a campaign in DC, I had a little sulk and did nothing for about 2 weeks *hangs head*

    "I forgive you."

Just try to finish this mod before the end of next week please.
    Faster is also acceptable.

    Hehe... just kidding.
I hope you get that problem solved Argo. Are there any DC mods out there that have a "linear" campaign (DoW/WA style) in stead of a world map?

A linear campaign is the problem. I've resorted to sacrificing small defenceless animals on my patio in the hope that it will help find a solution to my linear campaign problem.

So far all that's happened is my wife has shouted about the mess and things being unhygenic. Bah.
