Have you had any mods installed?
The simplest solution is probably to reinstall the game. A sync error is triggered when computers involved in the game disagree on something - it will be triggered if someone tries to cheat, if people are using different versions of the game or if a file has been corrupted so its calculating incorrect data. I suspect that the latter case will be your problem and reinstalling should fix it.
