    New MOD announcment: SplinterfleetMOD

SplinterfleetMOD will bring the race of the tyranids to DOWC, just like the TyranidMOD does.

Differences between the two MODs include:

a fully coherent model set (made by myself)
new animations for every troop set (so no reused animations from tyranidMOD- despite the fact that theirs is actually better)
armypainter support for all units 'out of the box'
a 'real world organic' sound set -courtesy of a recent trip to 'London Zoo'
    a 2007-2008 final release

    April fools, anyone?

At last! The twisted Hivemind unveils its terrible bioweapons...
Don't tell us you've gone through all this to 'just' make a prank on us mister!
We look to the heavens so that one day our children may look back towards home.

Is it a prank? If the Tyranids eat us we'll know it's not.

    But seriously stryer, a prank?

  4. #4
No. it's not a prank. but what do you mean with:

armypainter support for all units 'out of the box'
Pro-Skub, supporting the idea of new heroes for the Last Stand as DLC since 1967.

@Shuma: Well, the same as when you take your minis out of the box and paint'em your own colours, you'll be able to paint them fully to your taste, probably

Hmmmmm if its not an april fools joke which I think it maybe when I saw about the army painter out the box thing for some reason I thought he meant lots more models would be available but not all of them would be in game.

    Beta Tested:

Since you haven't given us any screenshots, I'll be the village idiot who asks: how much of the mod has been done and when can we expect some screen shots?
*ChaosReigns half expects Stryer to yell APRIL FOOLS!!! in his face*

    Hey Styrer,

Great news fella, good to hear that your wonderful models are nearing completion, animation being the most fun and most timeconsuming process I remember seeing some of your previous WIP model screenies and being blown away

Any unique plans around the "Gene Pool" and the whole evolutionary aspect of the Tyranid codex?

    Good Luck & Godspeed fella!

    Cheers,

Someone should truly think about a LEGO DoW, with LEGO SMs, LEGO IGs...

I loved LEGO SW and LEGO SW2, some of the best easygoing games around

Some how I think putting the game into lego characters would take away the dark, depressing, gothic atmosphere...

Actually it's a CAT . For those that don't know it's the same animation studio that Relic themselves used for Company of Hero's which is a pretty good indication of how cool the tool is.

  29. #29
well i sit corrected, i know styrer used puppet studio before ie the comment, i've not seen CAT but have heard of it might have a closer look soon

Oh dear- Wildcat must be laughing into his 'wildballofwool' (tm). Its not a gargoyle, thats for sure....
Now this is a gargoyle. It has a head crest- it must be a warrior -and nope- definitley not a Harridan or Vituraptor.

The real question has already been asked- in the first page - work out what it is- and i'll reposnd to it directly.

nope- those are massive- and quite beyond the scale of DOW. I still think the trygon is too big- so dont expect that, nor the malanthrope or any of the epic units either. Im going for the 4th ed codex. Oh, and no flying rippers.

And if there's no Epic that means no Dominatrix, and the HT is Male.. so... yes whatever.
