    This thread is intended to keep the community up to date with tools and resources commonly used and even ones that others may not know about. It is always helpful to know of other tools and links so check them out!

    Please share useful tools and sites. If any links are broken, please don’t hesitate to give me a pm. For tutorials, keep in mind some of the following:

    1: When writing out a tutorial, be clear and as precise as possible about the topic you’re writing about.
    2: Proof read the tutorial at least 2-3 times. After all if you cannot read it, it will be hard for others too!
    3: Think about how the tutorial will last in the future. You should try to keep it in a simple format, so it can be edited and updated in the future. Set a standard for everyone else to follow!
    4: IF you have a picture heavy tutorial try to have them as an available download as well for those on 56k net. Have them numbered and matching to the right part of the tutorial. 56k users can simply DL the pictures and view from the computer if they constantly need to use the tutorial. This will save them time!
    5: If you want a tutorial posted up for future reference, keep it informative and easy to read.

    as the links get more heavy on the page i will re-arrange them into more specific groups.

    I would suggest adding links to some of the beginner tutorials that turn up in this forum, and Incarnates tutor thread too. Just a thought as a lot of people don't tend to use the search button.

    ive updated the first post with some more tutorials so they dont get bogged down with other tutorials. ive only posted up the more reliable and "newbie" friendly ones at the moment.

    these will be the ones with little spelling errors, good grammer, easy to read and follow through type ones.

    good it be possible to have a list of all the files extension used in DoW-DC and of the sofware name needed to edit each?

    example:

    .tga -image type- Gimp or Photoshop
    .dds -texture image - gimp/phot+ appropriate pluging

    under the form :

    .fileExtansion- short description - sofware to view it/extract/convert/edit.

    could be nice.

    ye sure ill get a list up sometime, that can be a relatively useful thing in the right circumstances. i need to clear up the first post a bit, but its just trying to keep all the usefull stuff too.

    Eh, that thread is as always: A very good read. Just needs the bit edited about 3dsmax version requirements.

    wait, i thought fneep had some sort of work around... if not ill remove it

    @ compiler: i had checked it a bit earlier but it wouldnt load up at the time. ill recheck any way.

    EDIT: removed the 3ds max 9 link, and added the model specs to the modelling area.

    then they need to go into their respective folders found in the dawn of war directory.

    so for dark crusade for example its:

    "dawn of war - dark crusade/badges" for badges
    "dawn of war - dark crusade/banners" for banners

    it would help to explain exactly what you want to do.

    Do you want to make FX? ---> fx editor

    Change the in game stats of units like hit points and such? --- > attribute editor

    Make new Models? ---- > you'll need 3ds max 6 or any up to 2008.

    of course you'll also need to know how to set up your mod before you can really do any of the above.

    I noticed there's a soft image modeling program link. First, I'd like to inform you that the link is dead. Two, is there anyway to actually edit models with the program? Do any of the current exporters work?

    Do we have a DoW2 version for the AE links in this post? I would love some kind of wiki/website/post or anyway of being able to learn what each thing inside thoose amount of rbf´s do!
