[DC 1.2] "DCBugFixMod" V25 - Minor Fix

    First off, thank you for all your hard work! I love this bug fix

    Anyway, my friends and I all play using this mod, but we encountered a problem: two of my friends and I installed v22 first, and then upgraded to v23. Another friend directly installed v23 without v22.
    The problem is, the friend who only had v23 always encountered a "sync error" at the beginning of a game with us. We thought it was the AI settings, but those all matched. So I told him to install v22 first and then v23, and that fixed the sync error! I don't know if this is an isolated incident, but I'd just like to bring this to your attention. Maybe you could provide a link to v22 on the first page? Thanks again!

    I recommend deleting the chaplain fix folder and the chaplain_fix.module file before extracting the contents of a new version. Sometimes leftover files from the earlier versions can cause this sync error. To solve this problem, all of you must remove all the files&folders of chaplain_fix then reinstall the mod. Unfortunately I dont have version 22 or before.(or the links). Thanks for pointing that pesky error out.

    Question

    So, as the title suggests, I have a question.

    I have the Dawn of War Platinum edition, and I keep seeing DC 1.2. Is that the same as Dawn of War 1.2 Dark Crusade 1.0? When I log in on-line it doesn't download any patch, and I've got the Daemon Hunt mod working on it fine.

    Also, I've noticed that one of the problems listed is that the Chaplin gets downgraded from his Crozius Arcanum to a Power Sword some how, but for some reason it doesn't appear to be an issue for me with the PlatEd.

    Now, I notice alot of the other issues, such as IG CS voices, low melee damage on Terminators (they have Power Fists, shouldn't they be the same as SM Sgt PF?), that people talk about still being an issue, and I was just wondering if there's some kind gap I'm missing? Did Relic patch it or some such?

    I guess I'm wondering if PlatEd is the same as DC standalone or are there differences? I'd love to get a Balance mod so that I could fight the Necrons with my IG boys and not simply be slaughtered because my Guardsman die nearly instantly to Gauss fire and do no damage at all in melee, which is where they end up at all the time.

    Edit: Playing the Campaign I noticed the SM Missile Launchers have a knockback, though people say the SM Tac Squad Missile Launchers doesn't have a knock back. Is multi diff from single in certain ways then?

    @anilkocman@ I really liked the idea of your mod and how you took the step to fix the little details of the game.What I wanted to ask you since you seem to be an expert in handling and changing the internal files part of the game if you coud teach me how to fix the power fists upgrade in the campaign mode for the SM. You see in the campaign you cant research this upgrade for the SM seargents to get the power fists it seems to have been forgoten. I would really be very grateful if you could fix this in your mod.

    If tou can play online then you have the latest version of the game.(v1.2)
    Platinium = Normal Dark Crusade + Winter Assault + Vanilla DOW

    I don't know about campaign but according to the game codes, tactical space marines' missile launchers don't cause a knockback. Missile Launcher TURRETS have knockback. Marine Missile Launchers don't have a knockback because I guess it would distrupt enemy infantry too much with 5 lauchers in each marine squad. SM has a better distrupter: Hellfire. If tactical marines had knockback, there would be no need to use hellfire dreadnaughts anymore.
    Normal Terminators are specialized at ranged combat in DOW. Assault Terminators are better in melee but they have no ranged attack. Because of this specialization, normal terminators deal pathetic damage when they are in close combat.(even though they have powerfists)Powerfists on them are just for the show and eyecandy. These powerfists are not the same powerfists used by assault sergeants.

    The little changes don't affect the game a lot but thats the goal of this mod: They don't change the game but they paste a nice wax to polish it. Thanks for playing Chaplain_Fix mod

    Thanks buddy. I added your suggestion to the mod. The changes in the mod mostly affect the skirmish and multiplayer. The campaing units, researches etc. are a bit different than the skirmish/multiplayer ones. So the skirmish and campaign modifications must be done seperately. Unfortunately I don't have the necessary time to do that and I don't think the campaign requires a fix. It is fine at the moment. By the way soulstorm is coming out so this may be a waste of time. Have a nice game!

    @eltroubabadour: This doesn't work...
    f you want to use both mods do as follows :
    - download and install skirmish aimod
    - download and install this mod
    - in DC folder locate the file dowai.module
    - edit it with notepad, add this line at the end :
    RequiredMod.3 = Chaplain_Fix
    - save dowai.module
    - launch DC, activate dowai mod

    When you launch AImod it will also load chaplainfix files
    It wont work for all mods, it works here because aimod & chaplainfix did not modify the same files

    Of course it does not work, it was before AI mod was included in Chaplain mod, if you want to make it work you will have to remove AI folder in Chaplain install folder, since there is already an ai provided in the chaplain folder i guess it is the reason why you dont see any changes

    With DowAi v2.6 it did another way : i have added dowAI mod as required in the chaplainfix.module (but you have to remove any previous version of ai mod in chaplain folder) thus i can use dowAImod with other mods

    - in DC folder locate the file chaplain.module
    - edit it with notepad, add this line at the end :
    RequiredMod.3 = dowai
    - save chaplain.module
    - launch DC, activate chaplain mod

    Thanks mate! I didn't know that your instructions referred to the pre-AI Mod version of the chaplain-fix.

    Yay IG is now actually less crappy- just with the bug fixes!

    Minor suggestion:

    Allow the default install directory to account for 64-bit Windows operating systems. %ProgramFiles(x86)%

    The installer by default chooses "C:\Program Files\THQ\Dawn of War - Dark Crusade", which only works for 32-bit Windows operating systems.

    I have found a mod that contains DCBugFixMod latest version. It's called Dark Crusade Minor Balance Changes Mod (two version are available), which except for mentioned balance changes, has also integrated Dawn of Skirmish AI mod. Better then nothing, but If someone could somehow separate DCBugFixMod from this it would be great.

    Also to all who create mods: If you respect your own work and want it be enjoyed by people for long time, please avoid using horrible Rapidshare. Mediafire, ModDB, Filefront and many others services are much better choice.

    I would be strongly interested in this mod as well. Like others have pointed out, all download links are no longer available. Does anyone have this mod installer available? If yes, you'd be doing everyone a big favour by uplading it somewhere...
