new to Mods and installation of them...

    Question:

Am I to understand that once I've downloaded and installed "Halftracks" new skin mod, I can play his skin mod by clicking on a new link to that exe. file on my desktop?

And then I can still play the old vanilla COH version by simply clicking on the original COH desktop icon?

I can play either the mod, or the vanilla, simply by clicking on one desktop icon or the other, and I do not have to "uniinstall/reinstall" the game, or erase or move files around?

    thanks in advance

I think it may depend on the mod. If installation instructions for the mod instructs you to create a new desktop shortcut using something like "-modname [modname] -dev" added to the command line, then yes, the mod probably does not affect the original game. You use the original shortcut to play the stock/vanilla game and the new modified shortcut to play the mod.
